Hi Paula, you and I are the same generation and I, too, have a Gen Z son who edits my videos (and is a TH-camr himself). He designed my thumbnail templates for both of my channels. For this channel, we adapted my podcast cover art to fit within YT specs and to be on brand with my podcast. For my art channel, he takes a screenshot usually in an action part of the video and highlights part of it and we add a brand color as a border. That's it. I put words on my thumbnail once - and only once - because the video had super low views. I am definitely myself, but I don't really tell stories on the art channel; perhaps I should incorporate more, but my son tells me some of my videos are too long so I'm not sure where I'd add those. In my podcast, it's all story-telling. Cheers to our amazing Gen Z sons!
You should adjust the camera angle - there is too much space at the top of your head. I'd zoom out just a smidge and bring the camera down a little. As gen Z individual, this angle is more irritating than your previous thumbnails lol. I think your thumbnails are fine tbh.
I don't enjoy the bright color changing text or comical text thumbnails and avoid them. I prefer a real person in a real space. I can also "smell" a dressed stage or generated background on a video or thumbnail. And I'm Gen X.
haha. not new to marketing, but email, Pinterest, and influencer marketing is more my experience. I am definitely no expert on TH-cam, but here to learn! 😊
Do you have a Gen Z kid? Or ARE you a Gen Z kid?
None but I like the concept of gentle and quiet marketing, though.
@@s.u.s.a.n.a great! thanks so much for watching! 😊
Older Millennial here, your GenZ advisor is right. I would have scrolled past the other thumbnails.
hi !!
Hi! 😊

Yes! Gen Z sons are the BEST! 🥰 (well, my Millennial sons are pretty awesome, too. 😄)

Angle is definitely a tough one to get right. Thanks for the tips! 😊
Lets vibes too...

Thanks so much for the feedback, that is super helpful!
I'm more of your generation and I wouldn't have clicked on thumbnails previous to the videos over the past four days.
That is really helpful to know. Thanks!
i have NO EARTHLY idea what you are talking about. bye!
haha, well, thanks for watching anyway!
I mean, you're supposed to be in marketing and you don't know what works - you seem sweet, but not qualified to be talking about marketing.

I mean, you seem sweet, but not qualified to criticize anybody else.
@Toni_Snark
Everyone is "qualified" to criticize lol
