basically, the reason makoto shinkai put taki and mitsuha in weathering with you is to make us feel that they are ok and they are not sad for 5 years looking for each other. which totally make sense because makoto shinkai said your name is incomplete, this is where he put the missing piece of your name, now i can sleep well thank god
but tenki no ko and kimi no na wa are still set in a different universe and timeline right... Shinkai just wanna display how it was for Taki and Mitsuha living in Tokyo after the events that destroyed Itomori...

What I respect about Makoto Shinkai's Weathering with You is his bold decisions he makes in the film. He doesn't concern much about what the audience would think about the film or whether they would like the film or not, he directs the film with what he perceives it and how he WANTS it to be. That, for me, is a great director, animator, and writter. I Really Really LOVE HIS FILMS SO FAR. 😊

I'm still a kid but I want to become a director of an anime or real life movie. I want it to have a great message and I want it to be entertaining. Honestly I was thinking of the next film Mr. Makoto Shinikai was going to make and I totally get him, they've made a film about weather, body switch so I was also thinking of a story but its harder than I thought. Weathering with you is one of the most touching anime movie I've seen. I loved it.💖💖💖

Thank you for uploading this! My theater screen was unfortunately cutting off the top and bottom of the screen so I couldn't see the subtitles at all :/ (I was watching the dub so subs weren't an issue for the actual movie)
@@Danielwebb_ Yea it was pretty good! The voice acting is not bad at all. I watched it again in sub and I personally laughed more during the dub, so it gets points on getting the humor on point. They also played the english version of Is There Anything Else Love Can Do during the credits which was nice.
Let's all just agree that we love this anime and even tho we can't sing Japanese when it comes to anime intros were on it and I will probably show this anime or your name in one of my kids when I grew up
Shinkai-sensei writes impressive stories with his films. I love them. He really is the next Hayao Miyazaki (even though he said before he doesn’t see himself that way).
I have an idea for the next movie. how about the main charecter of the movie is running and he's in a hurry and it's 2022 april 8 (the day that taki and mitsuha find each other)then he falls on the ground.He sees 4 legs infront of him 2 for a woman 2 for a man but we cannot see the faces then they help the boy to stand up again and now we can see the faces. They're Taki and Mitsuha taking eatch other hands then Mitsuha says are yo ok and Taki says what's happend but the boy says thanks for your kindnes but i'm in a hurry and runs again. Now who likes this idea ?
I have idea for 3rd movie. I thought a lot of this plot and I liked it a lot. A homeless man who came to Japan for escape his family, his melancholy, painful past. (It could be a dead girlfriend who suicided for his mistakes or attitudes, he could be bad person but when his girlfriend suicides he just breaks down of everything, he just wants to suicide etc.) When he will come to limit of painful life, he just pray to gods for forgetting his memories exchange of ability to take other humans forgotten, old, deleted memories. When he sleeps, god of memories (like weather dragon god i dunno) could lead to his future to Japan.
While he travels to Japan, Tokyo, they can animate his journey, finally when he comes to Japan with illegal ways, he had couldn't find a job as he's a illegal foreigner so he could become a homeless. We can see his empty, shattered past memories severally. He could help persons who lost their memories because of several ways, like Taki and Mitsuha. But when he revive some memories, he could put years of his body cells which could lead to aging fast or internally broken organs etc. He can see Mitsuha's sister when she goes to school with train station, and learn our forgotten love story and he could bring this memories to Taki and Mitsuha again. But this could be the last reviving memories process for dramatic ending for our guy.
But first, Kyoto needs to animate his past with a TV series, and final of series he will bring forgotten memories of our love couple, and when he dies for fast-aging he can remember his love for his favours. I dunno guys can you critize my plot, is it a good idea or not?

I love writing but in job sector, there are low salaries, arrogant editor etc so i am doing this for hobbie. Thank you again for your support ❤️

Yes, M Shinkai confirms it. If you watch Weather with You. You'll notice when Mitsuha made a cameo, she's wearing her red ribbon. After the 3 year timeskip near the end when Honaka visits Taki's grand-mother, you'll see Taki's grand-mother is wearing Mitsuha's ribbon on her wrist. Presumably Taki and Mitsuha got married during those times.

both your name and weathering with you are actually taking place in different universe although there are scenes which confirms taki and mitsuha to be seen in 'weathering with you' yet its not like that. both the movies have no connection to each other

I think they meet each other when hina was sent to be sacrifice. Even this kinda doesn't makes sense too knowing there's no floods in tokyo during mitsuha and taki met each other. But that makes this make sense is when taki at starbucks it still rains afterwards snow was coming when taki and mitsuha passed by each other, that time also when hodaka and hina ran away the weather from raining turned out into snow.

I like this. You should write a script for it or some storyboards. I would totally watch it. Keep developing the story!

eh how did you get this interview during your screening? was it after the credits? I waited to the end of an imax showing and there was nothing
It was after all the credits, before the movie started it said there would be a interview at the end.
I believe this interview was only shown if you saw it on the first two days (Jan 15 & 16) (this is for the US theatrical release)
