Richard White is awesome, because Disney Animation Studios had him be the perfect fit for the voice of Gaston from Beauty & the Beast. Thank god that he's still alive and sings pretty good at the same time. 🤣
First saw Richard as Erik the phantom at the California theater in riverside before I saw beauty and the beast 1990. I was like 10 or something ... lol 41 now . The. When beauty and the beast came out I'm like I know that voice sure enough .. wow time goes by so fast ... I couldn't believe it was the same guys voice I had just saw in person a yr before .. he was very handsome
Beauty and the Beast was released in 1991 actually. Not 1990. I was born in 1991 when the movie came out. I’m 32 now.

Despite the little performance he gave at 1:57, I wonder if he could still do Gaston's voice fully. 🤔

@@foss I didn't mean that. I'm just wonder if he could still pull of the voice after all these years, that's all. It's just it doesn't sound that deep as the voice in the final film to me.

@@foss That's usually the case. This maybe off topic, but consider this. The late Eli Wallach (known as Tuco from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly) has a noticeable change in his voice, from sounding deep to sounding high throughout his life. This is just one example of what age could do to your voice amongst others.
Not off topic at all. Our voices absolutely change with age. And for an opera singer, the effect can be enormous. Not just age but weather exposure. A reason Paul Sorvino quit the blooming series Law & Order after 18 months was his rational fear that filming in the cold New York winter would eventually hurt his beautiful voice.
That said, I think if Disney and he really wanted it, they’d find a way to get that iconic voice in. Sadly Disney doesn’t seem to care about the voices. Outside making sure Mufasa was still voiced by James Earl Jones

Gaston was the hero. He rejected other women because he wanted to marry and have children with Belle. He stormed a castle to defeat a monster... for her. He deserves his own movie.
