Man, love fishing for shark in Florida. Never tried NJ. I basically use the same rig. 500lb mono, 500lb swivel/crimps, use some 15# wire leader to 18 or 19 hook. Let the sucker eat for like 15-30 secs then tighten drag to set hook and its on!
Heck yea new Dillon! when do we get the first vid of the Alabama series? Remember don’t set circles lol you’re missing out on some monster bass up here this fall run 😅
Dillon thresher sharks are mostly top water sharks or mid water column. They usually don’t eat baits off the bottom of the ocean they like to Chase stuff like mackerel, sardines, and mostly baitfish if you want to target them I would use a rig 76 rig. or to make it easier we catch them a lot on the piers over here in Southern California usually around 5 to 9 feet the locals probably got around over 100 at my local pier this year.so far . We do sometimes catch them off the beach, but it’s not as often. Most people keep thresher because they taste very good. Over here . We get common and pelagic thresher sharks off our piers and beaches. Big guy thresher sharks are usually caught in deeper water.. hmu if you want to learn more about targeting thresher 🤘
At least both sharks put up respectable fights. I caught a 6 foot lemon shark in Florida that fought like a sack of concrete. Even worse was the 5 foot nurse shark I got down there too.
Due to your distance you need to set way harder because you’re losing a lot of energy by the time it gets to the hook.Love your video thanks for sharing
Idk why but thing kinda reminds me of my first striper I have been out like 20 time and this time last year me and my dad went on his friends bout and I caught a Almost 50 lb striper on a light fluke fishing rod
Wow! You and your buddies had one heck of an adventure! Tight lines and keep the videos coming.
