How does this work toward leveling the lawn ?

Ah, I thought the weight of it would also help with leveling... don't see the purpose of one of these then vs a core aerator.

It's not intended as a lawn leveler, really. It's more for aeration (poking holes in your lawn). For leveling, you need a flat or smooth-faced weighted drum or roller. If you could remove all the spikes from this unit and make it smooth, then you *might* be able to use it as a lawn leveler, but I don't think these spikes can be removed.

@troll oracle hydraulic sleeve hitch, or something of the like, on the back of your tractor. If you don't have one, like the guy in this video doesn't have one, then you're SOL. probably hand trucking or carting that thing around

Yeah... how do you roll this across, say, a driveway or a sidewalk to get to your lawn or field that you want to aerate? I have several lawns and fields that are separated by hard deck surface. I'm sure I'd dull the spikes of the aerator by rolling it across hard asphalt or concrete a few times.

they probably are taking the weight of the aerator without water into consideration for a total of 299
