Raikko is so adorable, his perpetual 'why is this happening to me?' expression though. 🤣
It was clearly the worst day of his life so far
Eyes wide open 😨😊😇
His paws r huge can u imagine when he reaches adulthood
@@donnabotelho2195yup… we have a n Abkash mix, one of the other very old Turkish livestock guardian breeds. At about 30 months he is now around 180 pounds and about 34 inches tall… most likely he will pass the 200 pound mark. His mommy is at a slight disadvantage at just over half his weight 😂😂😂
His sweet little face looked so defeated during his bath.
9 weeks and his paws are massive! You can definitely tell he’s going to be a big (and good) boy!
I love his one big sock~!
Kangals grow to a minimum 75cm shoulder height, at minimum 50 to 60kg weight. and they are highly territorial.
man I saw puppies always have gigantic paws for their age. I got my Irish Setter a couple of months ago when he was a puppy. it was shocking how big his paws were for his age. He was literally tripping over them
He’s got a lot of growing to do.
@jackiieeee You can definitely tell he’s going to be a big (and good) boy!
how you know that ? we have them alot in my coutry and thy suck and are very dangerous and that why dutch animal shelter full of this dog breed.
That pupper is only 9 weeks old...
You can just tell he's really going to be a big boy.
Those clobber paws are enormous
At nine weeks old, he’s twice the size of some miniature breeds. Thinking of Dachshunds, miniature Poodles, Miniature Pinschers, those types of dogs, even when they’re fully grown.
CLOBBER PAWS
@@flux.aeterna lol lol
and so smart
The whole legs are massive!
Boy goes from "it's all over" back to normal puppy joy so quickly. I wish I could get over traumas that quickly. Or at all.
Exactly 😅
love your midna pfp 🧡
🤗 for you.
*hugs*
That was not trauma inducing. That was a somewhat uncomfortable situation where nothing bad happened. Actual trauma can cause lifelong issues just as in humans.
Boomer was at a private rescue facility. Pitbull that was really sweet and loved everyone but it took nearly 3 years to find his magic person. He had been brought back to the rescue 2 or 3 times due to his severe separation anxiety. Being left alone caused him to absolutely panic.
Boomer had been found in a wooden box that had been nailed shut and left on the porch of a vacant house. Underweight, covered in his own feces and urine and terribly dehydrated. He was changed forever. But he finally did find his forever home with a retired couple that could meet his needs.
A well loved puppy being introduced to bathing and grooming by a more than competent, knowledgeable, and loving groomer is a learning experience. I fail to see any trauma inducing actions here.
His face in the bath be like “THIS IS IT, THIS IS HOW IT ENDS!” lmao so cute
I know, he is like I just started my life, it’s too early to die! 😂 He was very brave all the same, such a good boiii
😂😂😂
Kangals know no fear (ok maybe a little when they're pups!!). These turkish dogs have the most incredible stories.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
🤣
9 weeks and he already reliably sits, even for a stranger. He's not only a good boy, he's a smart boy, and points to his owners for getting that training started early.
The white paw is extra cute.
It's a kangal, you need to put an actual effort to make it act otherwise. They are friendly to people by default, used to being bred and handled communally. People actually train them to get them be fierce and angry.
@@holydamien🎉rdf5;;44🎉.;5,;,,.55;.
They are so smart. Trying to train them to be a normal dog, like sit stay is really hard because they spend most of their time trying to avoid obeying the command. But they are truly lovely dogs when allowed to be who they are, which is a guardian.
He's wearing one sock
@@cynderhazelworth4467That’s what she said
He's remarkably well trained for being only 8 weeks old.
Hes a credit to his breed! Kangals are insanely smart, almost too smart. I have heard stories of them operating deadbolts and strategically and rhythmically using car horns to get their owners attention.
Puppies are easier to train. Once they get a a year in they start going through their teenager phase and they forget half their training
This is a very observant breed. Mine walk around trees to avoid getting tangled up when on the 100ft lead. So, YES. This is a very smart breed.
The moment she said it a kangal....I go 🤪😳😧...!!!
@@thevictorianconservative1093 I can confirm. A neighbour of mine had one. He fortified his entire garden to prevent his young kangal from escaping, and yet the dog still managed to evade ! I've seen it once : the dog was litteraly doing parkour ! Insane to see such an already tall dog being so nimble... and so smart !
I kept petting the kangal when we crossed path, and they are surprisingly sneaky and quiet. It always appeared without making any noise, startling me. Very playful too ! He pinch my dad' bum once, because he wanted to play and my dad and I were trying to lead him back to his owner lol
I believe they have extremely good sense of smell, because this dog found his way to our house, which was very far his owner's one ! Or it followed me once, without me noticing.
It was a decade ago. The neighbor had to move somewhere else because his dog was too smart. I think he was scared to found his kangal dead on the roadside. Maybe it was because it was young, but it really seems fearless. Even when scolded, it was very calm. It never barked.
I keep very fond memories of this cheeky and friendly puppy. They really don't care much about what we want them to do though lol A bit like cats.
His confused expression throughout the groom was priceless. He seemed so much happier when you were asking him to just ‘sit’!
"Hey, I know that one!" **sits**
He's so sweet. Thank you for showing us all these different breeds. Half the fun of this channel is learning about new breeds.
The other half is the snark
Me too! I enjoy it so....
@@Vagajammer and she th little pert girl , takes on these massivebreeds!!
Agreed. Some of them I’ve never heard or seen in real life. 😊
Not only that, but the education and history she gives about well known breeds is amazing🥰
I'm from Turkey and when my brother and I were babies our elderly neighbours had a HUGE kangal called Duke. We lived in a residential part of the city and poor Duke definitely did not have enough space in the back garden. He would often jump the fence and terrorise the neighbourhood. His owner was about 80 years old and would struggle to catch him, so my dad often had to go get him. Despite his huge size, he was so so sweet with my brother and I and we would feed him biscuits through the fence, even though it worried my mum a lot.
Dogs seem to really like socializing with the neighbors. We lived across the street from this dog who would enter through the back door, greet everyone in the house, and dart back home out the front door. She was a little grandma dog who had to make her rounds. Maybe it was the shepherd in her? Very sweet dog.
@@Poodle_Gun When my neighbors got a lab puppy he could always escape when he got the chance and enter my house through the fence lol. He was obsessed with my dogs even though he had a husky sibbling
One of mine is a Turkish Anatolian. One is French. The Turkish is the massive one but has the absolute sweetest temperament ever. Both living digs but can switch to all business pretty fast.
They won’t leave the garden but they’re both indoors, twice a day walks and once a week we travel to hiking trails or my mothers farm.
They LOVE kids and teens and the neighbors kids are like magnets so I get why you guys were loved so much by one.
The breed has eternal expanding territory so adopts their flock in neighborhoods like that.
You were puppy adopted!
I had a female black Lab who just adored kids.
She used to hitch a ride on a rural schoolbus and would hang out in town at the school and then hitch a ride home in the afternoon on the same bus.
This went on for a week before I was aware of it.
@@kelleywyskiel3478 I also have a rescued Anatolian and this is my experience as well. Mine was a stray from Turkey so came from working lines. If they are indoor dogs that get lots of socialization and have daily long walks, they will not roam. They roam when they are bored and lack attachment to their owner/family. I can leave all the doors and gates open and my dog will not leave. Mine also has such an even temperament, he guards the yard but is never aggressive and once introduced, he enjoys having new people become part of his flock! He loves it when all the extended family come over for the holidays and he has a big flock to watch.
Born and raised in Turkey, with one side of my family as farmers. Lil me grew up surrounded by 3 larger kangals strong enough to make my uncle trip. Their bite force is truly incredible. When they got into fight with other dogs, it was almost impossible to pry them away.
And yet they were the gentlest dogs ever to the 5 year old me. They would even tolerate my stupid attempts to ride them like a horse. They are long gone now, but I still remember them ❤️
The trick is to grab their back legs and lift. Without them to gain leverage, they become pretty helpless...works with any dog.
@@Snarkapotamus Do you know how big and heavy are these dogs :D
@@hododod246 - Yes.
@@Snarkapotamusyeah you’re not getting behind a actual kangal maybe a Anatolian mix since they’re heavier and slower but you try doing this on an actual Sivas Kangal and you’re losing an arm
So sweet….i love Turkey, by the by…
He is going to be a treasure, so obedient and calm. Traits very necessary with a very big dog. ❤
@@kzgntosbaga6255 BS if you help them spend their energy throughout the day they can be very chill... if you deprive them from activity especially dogs like boxers/muscle breeds that kind of category they will bring you hell they get way to hyperactive but thats the owners fault...
@kzgntosbaga6255 you can see that dog is quite. He isnt anxious at all.
Turkish Sivas Kangal Shepherd dogs are not obedient they are extremely smart and independent. Although they are very strong they are not aggressive unless they need to protect people or flocks from predators.
his widdle face on the thumbnail combined with the title is absolutely hilarious. what a cute baby for a soon to be powerful dog!
I KNOW 🥰😍
there isnt wide face ????
??
@@ronaldwoofer5024it's "little", intentionally spelled "widdle" because the way we talk to puppies makes it sound like "widdle".
YES it's like he's saying "who, me?"
poor baby looks so startled with the happy hoodie, it’s like he turned into a pug 😂
Hahahaha
As a kid one of our neighbors had a kangal named Sürgün and he was indeed very friendly with us kids, I was very scared at the beginning because he was pretty big, but he was never aggressive towards us. I was also amused by the fact that his dog walks weren't actual walks but his owner riding a bike and Sürgün running alongside him in a nearby park. They made sure he got lots of physical activity. I have huge respect for people who commit so much time and effort for these type of breeds.
Considering the amount of ground these dogs cover in their natural habitat as sheep guard, if you have one as a pet you HAVE TO give them some pretty serious amount of exercise. Good of the owners to do that
He's gonna be gigantic come Christmas... hope to see him again next year, to get a proper "Holy-Eff he's grown so much!" reaction.
Aww. The way he showed off all his good behavior at the end. His first groom was a big success!
That is the cutest thing I’ve seen in a long time. His bravery and intelligence are off the carts. He’s going to be quite the gentleman.
"off the carts"?!
'Highly skeptical of strangers' perfect trait for a dog.

There’s a female kangal in my neighbourhood. She’s only 1 and already weighs over 60kg (~130lbs) with some room to grow left. Her dad reportedly weighs >80kg (175lbs). She’s *massive* but super chill and loves cuddles (though she does have a "fluff around and find out" mode when other dogs try her), and she’s quickly become one of my favourite dogs over here. Raikko is going to be an absolute unit.

These are wonderful dogs. Raised correctly and you'll have no finer family pet. The two I have had over the years had no problems with other animals, in fact the big male loved cats and would worry over kittens when they got playing too rough using his big 'ole snout and head to break-up fights. He also loved the groomer, enjoying the process so much that the groomer would ask to let him stay the day in the shop to help calm other dogs there, to him the grooming was just too much fun. Thank you for showing the breed.
I agree with his “What the fluff” expression ❤ I hope you get to groom regularly enough so that we can watch him grow up 🤗🤗
He looked SOOOO SAD!! But what a brave boy he is. Nice job, everyone!
He is like a mythical creature with a head of adorable puppy and paws of a giant lion. So cute. He did so well!
If I remember right, they're name means lion in the native language.
He is such a sweetie! You are an amazing groomer. I know you have spent many hours in educating yourself on so many breeds and their needs, and you continue to educate yourself. You always have such interesting content as you educate your followers on different breeds in hopes that people will choose wisely their pet companions. I love how you educate owners on how soon they should get their puppy into a groomer to make them comfortable with grooming. You do such a wonderful job. The world is blessed to have you! Thank you.
What a great comment.
Poor thing, he looked so scared ... What an adorable face. I wouldn't be able to do your work ! The grooming process would just be two hours of cuddles !

That little man and those sad orphan puppy eyes! He is beyond adorable. And he was such a good boy. ❣️
His cute little puppy face with the happy hoodie! 😅 what the fluff indeed. What a cute and smart puppy.
I had a Mastiff take me for a walk a couple weeks ago and as I lost my footing I thought of you while the leash seered off the skin of my knuckles and again later as I picked the pebbles out of my knees. Your voice narration of the whole ordeal, in my head, really soothed the soreness! :)
This happened to me and our pinscher😅😂😅
He was huge and i learned he had a powerful lunge that day😂😂😂😂
The look on his face when you put on the happy hoodie. He was like...what's coming next? He's so adorable.
I have an Anatolian shepherd and have been waiting for you to do one. They are so expressive.
My current one has the wiggliest eyebrows I've ever seen in a dog. The expressions he makes and the way he uses his ears and eyes to communicate is so interesting to watch.
I can only imagine him trying to hug his groomers for the blow-dry when he's all grown up 😂 such an adorable good boy 💕🥰🥺
yea its kinda hard to imagine him so big when they are so fluffy and cute when they are so small :p
I love how you always match the pets names with an adjective of the same first letter (if you can). It’s so cute!
I love his coloring. I've honestly only seen that on stuffed animals and didn't realize it was an actual coloring for dogs. He's adorable.
My friend’s neighbor had one. She’d wander the neighborhood (rural community) and no one was a stranger to her. She was so sweet!!
Absolutely adorable. I would love to see his grooms as he grows and grows and grows up. He loved you and forgave you in the end. Such a fine fellow indeed.
That face! 🥹 And he was being so brave! 🥰 ❤️
Can confirm - I have a 6 year old male and 2 female puppies. These puppers are smart problem solvers and super confident. Scout is almost 9 weeks old & 26 lbs and terrorizes our male Avi who weighs 135 lbs. You can't intimidate these guys because they've been bred for 6000 years to stand up to wolves, bears, mountain lions and apex predators but gentle enough to snuggle sheep and goat babies. If you can handle uber dominant dogs, sooooooo rewarding!❤❤❤
Boy’s got some expressive eyeballs.
It's so sad, here in Germany in our town there are so many Kangal in pet rescue station because people wasn't ready for a Kangal or they are socialized pretty bad. I live in Turkey, there's a Kangal here in my neighborhood and a 5 ft person can easily ride it like a horse, no kidding it's that huge 😁
They're very gentle too, it always surprises me how aggressive smaller dogs are compared to huge breeds like this.
They are also surprisingly control themselves and have discipline. Kinda obvious from video above. And know how to keep their strength in check. I've seen a video of a... Not very smart man purposefully tease and annoy a huge kangal. After some growling and warning, dog reared up (turning out to be good deal taller then the man) with terrifying roar, and gave him nice view of teeth and maw and then closed jaws shut with an audible snap inches from his face. While simultaneously sending him tumbling back with forepaw shove. Then proceeded to lie back down with what looked like a very sly satisfied expression. While guy had to change pants...
You'd be aggressive too if everyone around you was twice your size or more. If we're talking Dachshund, Terrier and the like, they are breed to stand up to predators that are a good deal bigger then they are in their own living room. Add to that how most owners don't think it's necessary to socialize and train smaller dogs... it's really not their fault. I've had five Terriers and they were/are all very chill with both people and other animals, it's simply a question of confidence.
@@exotherm42 same. I don't think small dogs are more aggressive then big ones. They're just more prone to being treated like toys, their aggression ignored and dismissed as cute or funny. An aggressive attacking Kangal is terrifying monster. An aggressive Chihuahua is... Not so much.

We just adopted a former Turkish stray and by the looks of him and his proneness to guarding he’s got a lot of kangal in him. My fiance and I got our first puppy this weekend! The shelter called him a catahoula, all tan with a dark muzzle. He had his first bath last night and he was so well behaved, we hope to keep that going using your advice on familiarizing him at a young age.
Catahoulas hounds are mostly known be from Louisiana, most I seen were dappled greys, or leopard spotted
Be glad if he's got no merle gene in him, I know most people love the looks of it but it's really a defective gene and linked to all kinds of illnesses. They are amazingly adaptable dogs and if you put in the time, you guys will have a lot of fun together. If you didn't already, try researching the breed though... not sure I'd recommend them for first time dog owners but just having had a dog before doesn't prepare you for everything either, so that's never a catch all.
