The Battalion Commander for the Durhams should be court martialled! That attack was nothing more than suicidal against such high ground and after a forced march! Great battle, thank you so much!
Tyler, its GREAT to see your beautiful battle reports again, thanks! I'm really glad the detail in our book has helped with information around force and support selection- thanks for the shout out, its our pleasure to help you play your lovely games. I loved the format, the dice in CoC obviously play a massive part in the game, i like the way you just showed what options you had quickly ( and the double/triple rounds too! ) and then went back to talking through the narrative. Loved it! please give us more!!! Kind regards, Dan
Great format & table. If there’s more CoC I’ll definitely be subscribing. Cant play CoC like bolt action, the DLI got hammered because they didn’t use infantry tactics of the day. Pre bombardment softening if you can get it, fire support and movement, mortars and smoke. Crossing open ground, with no suppression fire or smoke they got what they deserved. Top video!
“Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!” You made the classic blunder, Tyler. The outcome was inevitable. Haha! Good game, sir! Thanks for sharing.
Great to see you making videos again! Terrain and miniatures are gorgeous as always! I also just got my hands on the Primosole book, I can’t wait to play through it!
Indeed! Thought they would pull it off with 12 pts of support. They had a 2nd Sherman waiting in the wings to come on. Maybe if they’d rolled better morale they could have turned the tide, but it just goes to show CoC doesn’t always favor the firstest with the mostest.
@@TexasBoltAction correct but possibly also reflects the nature of the terrain in Italy with a determined defence having the control of the high ground
That was a great video! The format is fantastic, it told the story of the battle seamlessly. Sad story for the DLI, but a seamless and wonderful story all the same!
Tough game for the British! I really enjoyed this format of battle report. You hit all the high points and the glamour shots of the miniatures and terrain was icing on the cake. Loved it and I can’t wait for more! I also took some notes for when we kick off our CoC battle reports. So thank you for the inspiration!
The HD camera work is second to none! Well done - great narrative, beautiful minis and wonderful terrain (though I'd hate to have to figure out where to store those humongous hills!). Now you need to play the rest of the campaign :)
Great terrain! It actually looks just like the interior of Sicily, which I know well. Btw, Durham is pronounced somewhere between “Durrem” and “Da-rum”. The “h” is completely silent.
Love this! Beautiful terrain amd models! I really appreciate the detail put into the explanation of the units, it's very engaging and immersive. I like how you posed the British units in a marching column giving that storytelling aspect. I find battle reports are often dry, and focus too much on the dicing and rules of the game, which is good for learning a game but not as much fun to watch. I also find chain command to just really lend itself well to narrative and scenario play, as much as I do love bolt action, I'm enjoying watching this more. Question for you, where did you get your casualty models? I really love how much more having those on the table added.
I couldn't agree more about CoC being an excellent narrative device. That's why we do it! The casualties are from Black Tree Designs. Thanks for the kind words!
Amazing table and report! A dream to play on such a gorgeous table. Would love to see more CoC. Not sure you resolved Overwatch correctly? If a unit fires without moving, any Overwatch against it comes after the firing (see Firing on Overwatch 9.1.3).
@@TexasBoltAction You been gone years and years ! the last vid was the german africa corp holding the isolated farm building against the horde of us armour ! please get your shit together and return to doing bolt action vids i know life is shit and hard but you would make me an extremley happy man ! Thank you guys . Gaz in the UK .
It was neat to see the mixed squads (men from different regiments) in the Italian squads, is that something you can do in CoC? I am not familiar with CoC but I hear it is really good.
In CoC you are usually representing a single platoon. However, I painted my Italians to be a mix of desert and coastal uniforms since in Sicily they were kind of a hodgepodge. With Italy's ghastly supply issues, it is highly unlikely a platoon would all be wearing the same uniform. And yes CoC is my favorite wwii game hands down!
Good game, Guys…I think in the spirit of the rules you only get an extra phase once if you roll a double 5. So, rolling a double 5 again In the next phase will not count as a double phase. Also, I believe if your vehicle is stationary you can fire the main gun and the machine gun, or coax and hull machine gun. For the Italians I would make a special rule where you roll six sided dice but divide in half and add to base morale.
It’s a double six 🎲🎲 rather than double five that gives you an extra phase. And the original intention, as the author Richard Clarke has stated repeatedly, is that each subsequent double six in following phases should give you another extra phase. It’s called “seizing the moment” - as in it gives you the opportunity to break what might otherwise degenerate into a long-range firefight.
Fantastic table. I tell ya, I'd rather WATCH you guys play out the game instead of you TELLING us what happened. Think it makes the game more entertaining then just a highlight reel. Look forward to seeing what you got for next year.
Looks good. Nice battle report. More Chain of Command please - I'd like to see how this develops as a campaign.

The overall winner of the game battle report was 'Chain Of Command'. Keep them coming please.

What a game. The Italians had a great game

hi, what are the minis you are using for the Italians and Brits?
The Brit’s are an assortment of warlord games and artizan. The Italians are warlord games.
