- Every day, people in India are receiving face and voice calls from their loved ones. Or so they think. Some of these calls are actually deepfakes. Cyber criminals are increasingly using Artificial Intelligence to create deepfakes in order to scam their victims.
From voice-cloning to face swaps, to deepfake nudes, deepfake scams are sweeping across India. We meet 3 victims who were targeted by criminals using deepfake technology and hear about the many more who were fooled. We also visit a village of scammers and hear why they do what they do.

Scams & scammers of such gigantic proportions can not exist & thrive without active political patronage. Hence, it's useless to say anything. It's not that the problem is un-solvable.
You can make some effort to translate in English. It's not convenient fixant the screen to read subtiles.
No police officer is going to call you and say they want $$ to release someone . If you get a call like that call the person thats "in custody". Do not pay them until you talk to the person thats "in custody, " in my country the usa when a person is arrested their name is on a database . Look up your state and check the persons name .
