Love these free camping spots! I have a recommendation! If your ever I’m South Florida, there are some good free campgrounds down here, the one I use is: south Florida water management district and sign up for the special use license, then go to the recreation part so you can get your free permit/license to camp there! The non equestrian side has full working bathrooms and showers! I also just subscribe to your channel and Ty for sharing!
It's so great to see all of those spots most of them we stayed at during our very first winter. It really brings back memories. Thanks so much for sharing with us- Kyle and Michelle
thanks Kyle. I didnt get to do much camping this season as i had became very ill. but just getting back into the swing again. hoping to visit more of the Swiftmud campgrounds before it gets too hot here again.
Yeah guys... I'm still strong at 60 but it breaks my heart everytime I see an elderly homeless down and out... just walking for miles to get a little food I suppose... what a fd-up world to have to witness that kind of thing over and over... wish I had a ton of monies... I would do nothing but find those poor folks and set em up with atleast their basic necessities so they can smile again... love you all regardless and may God bless EVERYONE SOON!!!
Thanks, I've been thinking about Motorcycle camping but didn't know where to go close by. This solved that. I ride through the Green Swamp a lot and didn't know there were campsites available. Camping gear is now on my Christmas wish list!!
I have tent camped in all these except the Washburn tract, some multiple times.I live only 5 miles from Flying Eagle. if you like primitive camping, the Mcneil campground near the southern end of the Green Swamp West is my favorite. it sits on the Withlacoochee River near the headwaters.
I love tent camping at McNeil, i wish they would not alow RVs in there. There is only 3 sites to camp and this past spring 1 person had a reservation and they had friends with another RV and took 2 sites/spots about 100 feet apart when we got there, there was no place to set up. They hogged up the 3 fire rings and tables. Called the powers that be and they said it was to late in the day (already5pm) so they could only send someone in the morning to have them move. Kinda ruined the beginning of our week long trip.
@@rspc6132 wow! that is unfortunate that has happened. i have respect for all campers. we campers are a small fraction of the population that gets out an explore the real country. sorry you had a bad run in with some disrespectful types. kepp your chin up, dont let anyone keep you from have a great time your self.
Those are all great places done them all. They were very unknown places. Believe they are all listed in the book put out by the state. It was swiftmud and the were free to the public. Thanks for sharing
They had to change the rules on the water management districts campgrounds because many people were taking advantage. They used to be more lenient and let you camp more in year. Also, if you find a lot of garbage in a campsite, reach out to the WMD and let them know. They'll usually come pick it up, especially if you've already bagged it. I bag up garbage everywhere I camp, and usually am able to take it with me. One time, I had bagged up a ridiculous amount of garbage and reached out, they asked me to take it to the gate, which I did. I later had to bag up even more, and it was probably 20 bags. They told me leave it in the campsite and they would get it.
Wow! we bag up also, but never had more than 2 nags at most. the folks that leave this trash behind will be the cause we loose the right to camp at these places. i know some spots out west has closed up some camping areas for that reason.
@xx84gnxx yes, that's why I spent time collecting all of that garbage left behind. It was entirely too much for me to remove, though. I worried that by contacting them, that might make it more difficult for people to camp, but overall they just seemed appreciative. They actually came by with one of their books and a roll of garbage bags one day because I had used so many of my own to clean up. They said they didn't have much they could do as a thank you, but I didn't expect a thank you. I was just doing my part. I actually found some massive sign letters in the woods, as well. I don't know what people are thinking when they dump like that. They just ruin everything for everyone else because they are so selfish. I truly appreciate having beautiful places to camp, and I feel like we all need to take care of our public spaces. They belong to all of us. Yes, there are caretakers we pay through our taxes, but they can't be everywhere at once. Plus, they aren't our personal staff that follows behind to pick up after us.
@@departmentofredundancydept4121 I agree, we should do better, and act like adults, not uneducated kids. i found box springs and a mattress once tossed right next to a camp site. even abandoned pets is another issue. i dont get people sometimes......

You have a few choices. Like us we have a RV resort near our home and we pay 15 to dump before we get home, then if you are headed to another campground that has a dump station, you dump before heading your the site. unless its full hook-up, which is what we try to book when doing more traveling. there is an app out there that shows dump stations at certain rest areas that you can use for free also.
