- UPDATE: Lots of people are having axles break. Do not think that you can go crazy like we did. As you see we broke them. They will break under a crazy bash, just like an a-arm will on an independent suspension truck. Difference is....the solid axles are more expensive to fix. They are solid axle trucks and more prone to breaking in general. If you want to bash harder, you should get axle braces to help strengthen the axles.

I was so blown away by the durability of the Losi LMT today. Matthew Hall and Joshua Sanford Sr. came over to test out the all-new Losi LMT monster trucks. We beat them real good and broke the axle on one of them....but it was our fault not the truck's. It's amazing how much they can take. I can't run my bashers this long without breaking something. It's unreal what we did. This is my favorite RTR RC I've owned. Totally feel ok saying that and letting people know they are worth it. Not a Grave Digger or Son Uva Digger fan, but I have my eyes on a couple of Rollers to start with. I wonder if you could use those axles under the Freestyle Rc ZEI chassis? I just wanna use that chassis for a scale looking truck. Plus buying the Roller would be cheaper than buying the Freestyle Rc axles.
Tony im gonna use your link to pre order but I'm trying to decide between rtr and roller. I want the roller but is there body options for it? Id like to get more classic truck body and I also prefer the white wheels. Im ready to pre order now so ill go by what you think.
@@cwatson42785 most smt bodies should work. Same dimensions. Comes with body post option.
I'm thinking that the J Concepts bodies should work. Especially the ones that are for long wheelbase trucks.

Driving them this hard it’s asking to break an axle...like we did. This was really to see how much it would take. I would LMT advise this as the normal driving for these trucks.

For the abuse that these are taking and only having screws back out is awesome!! Any other vehicle would have broken ten times by now. Losi did their homework on these, took a swing at it, and hit it out of the park on their first try.

Hope so! Competition is never a bad thing. If they make it at a competitive price point and build quality, even better!
Maybe Traxxas as they have moved to done scale trucks. Not ARRMA. Like they won’t do solid rear axle Mojave. They want durability and bash-ability of the independent suspension rigs.
I could see Team Associated doing a truck if a popular form of racing these trucks comes about. Not just the traditional MT class but more of MT Cross style of racing. Then I could see Associated getting into it and if Losi Racing gets involved with the truck then forgetaboutit. Associated will be in there like swimwear.
Thats what Im hoping. A 1/8 scale would be nice.
Arrma and Losi are both owned by Horizon Hobby so it’s unlikely you’ll see them jump to make a competitive RC. Traxxas is so far behind they are just now releasing a Kraton EXB 1:8 called the Sledge. You may see them release a solid axle in 10 years. Lol

I haven't touched any of my Clodbusters in years, been so long that I can't remember. The Freestyle Rc axles and chassis was starting to light a spark for me as well as the ACRC Havoc chassis and this truck is definitely going to get me back into messing with R/C's again.

I am thinking that a class would do well at a off road track with this style of truck. Either a LMT only class, or a solid axle Monster Truck class. I have a SMT10 and i don't know if i could make it either fast enough to keep up or durable enough to make it worth trying to race it like this. I would probably end up spending way more than $600 on upgrades to do it though. So in that case a LMT would be a perfect choice.

Only watched this 11 times already......I commented a year ago hoping to sell my no prep slash and finance an lmt. No bites. Even started trying to part out other projects, settled for just trying to get a roller, but I couldn't even sell a pair of tires. Maybe this year.

If I wanted to limit one of these to more scale capabilities would I just require a 2S or even NimH battery? Certainly wouldn't want to do those crazy jumps, keep it down to two feet off the ground.
I’ve been reading all the hype, figuring it was cool, but you know how people react any time something new emerges. Ya know, that cool for a month type hype then on to the next thing.
Boy oh boy.. I think these might be the most durable RCs to date from the looks of it. Possibly even dethroning the maxx.

Interesting breakage in the axle, but notice that it's the same side that hit the ramp vertical at the start of the video. That probably started stress risers. That hit the ramp edge and acted like an axe would. work. That's blunt cut/semi-shearing action. Then all the bashing took it further to the end. This breakage is certainly nothing to worry about. Aluminum axles would probably be ok, but at the expense of weight and insane cost, and perhaps other parts breaking instead. Amazing trucks.

These trucks are very impressive Tony! I know my smt10 would have broken very early on.
We had to upgrade to aluminum axels and Reese steering servoe but in all fantastic truck . Bent many sway bars make my own now lol love the truck now im on 3rd body 72 chev blazer
Yeah. They were tanks at the time. We would’ve never sent our other solid axle trucks this big. Those AR60 axles snapped too easily. The freestyle RC would take it, but rod ends would snap. So tanks in relation to other offerings. We did find ways to snap them

😲 Damn they beat them down!! The kyosho madforce style solid axle trucks used to be king but these suckers blow them away I don't believe they handle that much of a pounding! Tony on that sway bar if you can see the grub screw mark on the sway bar grind a little flat spot on it there and it should hold it in. Awesome monster bash video...😜 Now you have two beat up trucks thanks to your buddies they drove em hard! 😁.......... I can see why you want to order another one! LOL!!
Thanks Steve! They do have a flat spot, but I think the movement on them causes the grub screw to back out. Needs more thread lock on them. These trucks are absolutely insane

Seems like it performed like its Full Scale counterpart, if the wheels are on the ground you can just throttle out of the landing and on to the next jump.

9:53, he rides a wheelie up the send it ramp. I don't think I ever heard one of those trucks slap the chassis into the ground no matter how high they got. All of that and only losing a pin and breaking one axle is pretty damn impressive, I think Losi really got a lot right with this truck.
No chassis slap with these. Suspension doesn’t allow it. That wheelie up the ramp was cool!
Might be a dumb question, how about a sensored motor? This truck is race ready,per say??

Tony, any clean up tips on after mud/water bashes? I flip my trucks over and let them dry for two days but I see a lot of rust around the screws after. Is there a way to avoid the rust? Thanks for the great videos.
I don’t have all the best tips. I usually rinse them with water, hit them with an air compressor to blow off the water and mud, rinse again, air compressor, then WD40 on most of the car(not electronics). Let it soak in for a few minutes then air compressor it mostly off. It repels water and helps prevent rust

@@CCxRC how can one insure they’re getting a unit that has been upgraded? My local Hobbytown USA has the truck in stock and I want to pick it up tomorrow if it has the newer axles.
@@gaffle-411 unless it’s been in their shop for over a year…it will be. The first batch sold out very quickly. Only the kit version has the old axle case still.
That is pretty crazy how much abuse those things took. Definitely is worth the $600. I would say it was worth the $600 before seeing this video with the parts they used on it. I recognize a few parts from other RCs I own or are on my brothers RC. Some of which take one hell of a beating themselves. After seeing this video the durability is a bonus on top of the parts supplied with the RC itself. I already wanted this thing, but after seeing this video makes me know it will be well worth the price tag.
I was talking with the product developer today after I put in a pre-order for spare parts. It’s very easy to see the value in the kit and RTR after setting prices on each part.
They def look tuff. How much is axle ? Hopefully there is a piece on end so u don’t have to replace whole axle

I really wanna get one of these...but Losi is just so notorious for discontinuing stuff...I really dont wanna buy one and lose parts support and then I have a 600 dollar brick. Still feeling the sting on that from my MGT 8.0 and Rival from Team Associated...my 2 best trucks and I had to sell em...for pennies too...

Depends how you drive. Usually 12-15 minutes for me. Note: this was done in warm weather. Plastics get brittle in the cold and this type of bashing isn’t recommended

Screws are into plastic holes that strip easily.

Hey Tony do you know if the lmt roller will come with that servo horn? I noticed that these have a different type of horn that it runs. Im getting ready to order (from your link) and im just trying to see what ill need.
I like it a lot but my complain about Losi is why I have to use a Smart battery instead of the standard one . I have Traxxas and the telemetry it’s awesome with all the Lipo you can use . Feel free to comment nice Monster Truck this one ☝️
Traxxas is the same. You can buy adapters from your battery to the IC5 or EC5 connector. You don’t have to have a smart battery. Just gives you more information on your battery if you do. A lot of people will cut off the IC5 and put on solder on their own connector.
@@CCxRC I like the telemetry of my Traxxas the point is that I have all stock and I use aftermarket Lipo and no problem piece of cake I did the test with my Lipo checker and it’s accurate like the telemetry 👍 i agree with you no way to buy the Smart one so expensive 👇

They arent like bashers they are bashers they arent scale at all. The smt10 is 50x better at being a scale monster truck. The lmt is litterly just a basher with "straight" axles
Smt10 isn’t scale either other than the chassis design. Look at the links, shock placement, headers, sponsor plate style, lack of front sway bar and proportions next to a real GD photo. They’ve done a lot to the LMT to bring scale details to it and make it handle really well.
