Jerk basically refers to a type of meat, whether it is chicken, pork, beef, fish, goat, fruit or vegetables, and in Negril, Jamaica, a Jamaican jerk is referring to how the food is cooked. This delicious style of cooking refers to using a paste or marinade that will at least include pimento. By the way, it is very nice.

Your tortoises would have loved those salad greens. Nasturtionss were one of my moms favorite flowers. Bloom, leaf, and seed pods are edible. I eat them inn salads. Pickle the green seed pods for a caper flavor to foods. The basils are used in tomato based dishes. Noah could use them all in his cooking. Look out for using fresh herbs style cook books for him. Open new doors of flavors. At nearly 73 I'm learning new recipes, how to sell on ebay, and how to paint watercolor, use oil patels as well.

Often the little 2 person tables are called Bistro tables. I use big scarves as table toppers; easy to wash and lots of nice patterns. Happy holidays!

Happy Holdays to all. I've been kinda staying away from GW. But watching Danni shopping last night, I thought I'd give it a visit. They were kinda empty. I suspect people are at the malls n discount stores. Well I spotted an old lamp coming out. Turns out it's a Laurel co. mushroom mid century table lamp. They run about 350.00 to 450.00. I think I'll rewire professionally. And keep. So yes, you can still occasionally find stuff. Especially in next couple days and day after Christmas while everyone's at the mall.
You should have gotten the Letter to Santa Box for the new store. It would have been great if you could fill some child's wishes next Christmas
My thrift store shelves have been nearly empty. I’ll see if they’re stocked again after the holidays. I did find a Jim Shore Santa for $4.99. I’m gifting that as well as a fleece blanket featuring the Nightmare Before Christmas for my son. Thanks to your videos I see more things and recognize their value. Thrifting is fun! Too use a scarf or a large cloth napkin to do a color contrast highlight.
I pick up Lazy Susan’s too. I use them even when crafting
I would have picked up those animal print vases ,they may have not been great quality but you could make someone who likes animal prints happy with an affordable priced item and you would get a bit of money back

Our local Goodwill used to give seniors a 40% discount, but they changed it a couple years ago to 25%. They also no longer give 25% discounts when you donate and their prices have skyrocketed. I've seen Dollar Tree items priced twice what they originally sold for.
I used to have hummingbirds and they shared the same one granted they was constantly fighting each other but they all did drink out of it LOL
For a "teaching moment," I would like to hear more about shopping while traveling: like what to choose(weight, size, fragility), how to pack, plane v auto, having to pass on things, wanting to buy too much stuff, etc.
Could you share your experience and the logistics of shopping while traveling when you're on one of your trips to San Diego, please?
O Goodness! I'm in love with the Betsey Johnson cat mini backpack! If you go back to that store you should pick it up but I bet it will be gone.
You can wash the paint with hot soapy water off the ceramics and it usually comes right off
For me where piggy banks or other decorative coin banks are concerned, I’m of the opinion that if it’s special enough (and being bought for adults) that people will buy it without a stopper, regardless. My rationale is that they’re not necessarily buying it to put coins in, but as a decorative item. This is pretty much the same way I think about vintage shakers. I could be wrong. 🫤

Nasturtium blossoms are edible and make a lovely addition to a salad..a bit of a peppery taste!
you don't always need to buy a tablecloth - Often when i threw dinner parties, I would just go buy a piece of fabric to lay over another tablecloth I already have. Once i had Italian night and bought a piece of red and white gingham fabric and then one was spring themed and bought a coordinating piece of fabric with those colors. Walmart has great seasonal fabrics.

I went in to a Council Thrift Shop today. I stepped on a book that was on the floor. I think it was meant for me. I had it in my mind to get such a thing.
Otherwise, there was no art, no furniture, no hard goods, and no counter jewelry or other for me. I didn't search the clothes.
Prices were up.
So, I just got the book and left.
And, the other day, I was in a Salvation Army. I did find a tray I needed for the oven, and a knitted/crocheted bowl-like thing (of which I'm still unsure). I ended up using it as a tissue holder. I'm certain it's not for that, but it works. It won't fall off my bed like a tissue box will.
Then, I was in a Goodwill. Got a floppy cowgirl hat, and 3 small white towels. I think I should stop shopping.
Thank you once again for the great video! Oh, and that giraffe fabric picture is hand made batik-one of my favorite types of textile art. The pieces we have are from Malawi. The happiest of holidays to you and your sweet children, Danni! ❤

You can get some food-safe mineral oil & clean & condition that wooden lazy susan. I bet it would clean up beautifully with a little TLC :) xo

Did you look up those dolls in the boxes? My sister and I had some from when we were in elementary school and we are over 80 years old now. They might have some good value. We had the Irish, the Scot and 2 others I don't recall.

In the plastics section you passed a couple Disney collector cups that when bought in the park with a drink is about $30. People try to get them online for cheaper. Might have been a good pick up for Disney sale if they are still there
