I’m a stylist, and I get how bleaching can hurt. I tell clients to come in with their hair a couple days dirty/oily, and I use an oil lightener that is gentle to the scalp bc those oils act as a buffer. Some stylists will see our dark hair and want to use something stronger, which in turn is rougher on the scalp (I’ve had chemical burns from doing this to myself, honestly, from being overly ambitious, and I’m a professional). The healthiest way is to do it in 2 sessions. The first will get u to a gold stage. Let your hair rest for a week and wash it w purple shampoo to mellow out the brassyness. Then do a 2nd session w a mild bleach, again w 2 day old hair, and you’ll get to a nice platinum.
