If the penalty for breaking a law is a fine, that law only applies to the poor.

I want to see them pay the fine in the first place. Iit’s more like if your poor, law applies, if you’re a bigoted aristocrat, the law is but an obstacle. Overall, just a disgusting scenario, and highlights the lack of credibility the police have in this country today, and lack of accountability. Yes you will always have rich people and corruption. But if a senior knows they will be held accountable, they will refuse any attempts of corruption made. However, when they know they can dodge interviews, and send a powerless senior to speak for the police instead. Why would they care? The hierarchy is purposely complicated and stitched together. Police attitude, is always, “we don’t do wrong”, and policing values are completely lost. Most of which, is the value of truly serving the public. Which has been diluted in meaning. Put this all together, and you get a police force that is incompetently complicit, unable to take accountability, negative work culture of “we are always right”, lack of policing results, disappointed communities, and worst of all. A reactive instead of proactive force, just in the last 6 months, how many times have you heard “*insert force* police launch an inquiry *insert incident*.”
And they always act as if said incident is a one off incident in a “very professional” force. Anyway, as a tax payer, it’s frustrating and disappointing. Not only is the police ineffective, but also useless, public safety is at an all time low, crime is always rising. They will not respond to most cases, and the ones they do they will never investigate.
The whole structure is broken, politics is hugely at play, not to blame one party more than the other. However, every time a crime hits new all time highs, pm announces to tackle it, for example, burglary, forcing police to always respond. Or when an incident or scandal happens, we get more reactive responses, that only plaster over the structural issues with short term fixes. Somewhat similar to the NHS…
So fox hunts or not, we will continue to get stories like this, as long as the hierarchy structure is complex, policing is reactive, and police culture remains as is, with a toxic us v them attitude, towards the public, and lack of accountability or humility. Non of this will be fixed over night, or even in 5 years. Let alone when you’re trying to fix all these issues, by ramming as many people as possible into the force, to combat “crime” without realistic training, in truly working for and serving the public.
Anyway… just another reason 99% want to leave.

Another case of proof that this country is *not* a democracy where all are equal under the law, rather a Plutocracy - country run by, and for the benefit of, the wealthy elite.
Right from the royals down, wealthy people enjoy hunting and know they are above the law. Which is why police all over the country arrest saboteurs and take them away, so that the hunts can carry on with nobody to video their lawbreaking. Right to the law where there's no minimum sentence for animal cruelty. It won't do to have some posh person hauled into court and put in prison for a year, therefore all animal abusers get no meaningful punishment bar a fine, a bit of 'community service', which they can't be forced to attend and a ban for a few years, which isn't monitored or enforced.
Trail hunting is a sham. It's a blatant sham too because who is daft enough to believe that a trail gets laid through cemeteries, across busy railway lines, through animal sanctuaries, through private gardens, school playgrounds and busy roads (loads of videos showing this), killing people's pets, spreading bovine TB as they run through infected land and then through herds of cattle, through fields of pregnant ewes, and getting hounds killed on railway lines and roads, traumatising the unfortunate people who witness it.
If they weren't protected by the police, lawyers, judges, politicians and the royals (who also protect paedophiles-google Bishop Peter Bell), then hunting will have died out.
The Tories wanted to repeal the hunting law but were persuaded it'd lose them too many votes.

Some years ago I attended a function at the provincial grand lodge in Crewe. After the festive board I was talking to some fellow masons who also happened to be senior police officers when we were approached by the master of one of these hunts. He looked at me enquiringly and was assured I was to be trusted as I was a police officer. He was seeking firm action against the hunt saboteurs and was told " don't worry my lads will sort the bastards out ". In rural Cheshire it's almost feudal I actually saw constables knuckling their foreheads to the master and shaking hands with the senior hunt members, so much for without fear or favour.

      What power have you got?
Where did you get it from?
In whose interests do you exercise it?
      To whom are you accountable?

Not just the fox. They crash through fences and drainage ditches leaving the landowners to pay for repairs and round up livestock and pets. Animals miscarry and die when stressed and harried by the hunt in their field, cruel and expensive again for the farmers who lose stock. Don't believe that country people are all out there cheering this on. There's either the type who were brought up in tied cottages tugging their forelocks and believing that their masters are better or the townies who move in and need an excuse to Christin their posh wellies standing on the road thinking their earning some sort of country credentials. Most country people hate the hunt and the people who take part with total contempt for everyone and everything but themselves..they don't even care for the horses.

On seeing it, I did not consider the horrific Bolito device from the movie "The Councillor" a just punishment for anyone, until I saw the vile fox hunters in this video. Killing animals for pleasure is a sure sign of psychopathy.

This is thoroughly disgusting, these hunts shouldn't be happening and it all comes down to if you have the money you get away with it.

Fox hunting is basically the upper class equivalent of dog fighting, both have long traditions of animal breeding, but we left the working class blood sports in the past whilst the well connected upper class continue.

What's going to happen is a couple of the top police in Warwickshire are going to be suspended on FULL pay end up resigning getting a massive pension for the rest of their lives and loose nothing. The rich look after themselves at our expense.

@@yamahajog04 Afghan and Iraq? Well the British involvement at least. PFI? Yep. Horizon, well he could have stopped it if he’d listened to Brown’s advice. 2008 financial crisis - well, no, that was global.
Fox hunting? Nah. That’s the cants that actually do it and their enablers (the police in this case). Blair’s government tried to, and spent a massive amount of parliamentary time on it, due to tories fighting tooth and nail what should have been a straight forward piece of legislation.

My mother nearly got killed by them. They were chasing a deer through her woodland and began shooting at it. My mother and dog had to hide because the shot was landing all around them. Police informed, nothing done.
This happened in Ilfracombe, north devon.

    • @quillo2747

Sorry but i dont believe you, no one hunts deer with hounds and rifles at the same time unless the dogs were herding it towards stationary shooters, deer flushing isnt done with loose dogs and as long as they had permission on the land its a hunting tactic used all over the world. We have an over population of deer and its obliterating ecosystems, the only predator to control their numbers is humans.
