      Spot on, it's tragic how European AI companies are being bought up by US. If Europe doesn't push for their own AGI the entire European economy will be run by foreign AI.

    Creating your own system, software is the best thing a company can do. Personal software and systems.
    In my personal opinion about what is happening with the technology revolution, first we need to stop fighting. Shift our mindsets, and understand technologies as a tool to help, help people to grow. We need to reach a balance between technology and human. Human Resources are irreplaceable, we need creativity, we need intuition, we need emotional intelligence. Technology has their limits and we need to understand what the tools we have, their potential and limitations and work with balance, between humans and technologies.
    In my perspective Europe, how I see Europe, I feel Europe, Europe has in their DNA art. For me Europe is Art. A continent or country that has art, has a huge potential. Roots of creativity, innovation, imagination, is a huge potential.

      Maria: 1) We have not figured out balance between and among humans yet. Figuring out balance between humans and technology seems like a reach farther than humans can currently aspire until humans can cope with each other better.
      2) I very much doubt that humans who cannot figure out and apply sentence structure and punctuation have enough communications skills to direct coding with any accuracy either.
      3) How is it that techies who cannot master human communication believe that they can master communicating with all of reality?
      4) Non-techies have good reason to worry about techies trying to remake human society in their own image. Regularly non-techies come up against answering platforms that exist for the sole objective of barring human communication.

      @ pardon me of my english, my native language is not English. I think we have a misunderstanding .
      In terms of technology If we wanted to make an analysis, a deep analysis, how technology has impacted societies, we have to understand all the elements( system thinking) all the elements that interconnected technology- society.
      In terms of system, each and every human being contains an internal system. This means all that all Its functioning is interconnected. The system creates a Unid- the person.
      In terms of balance, technology- humans: we have to understand the impact that technology has had in human, negative impacts in order to provide a solution.
      Balance between humans and technology: technology has Its limits, human resources: creativity, empathy, feelings, how we think, how we are able to solve, how we are able to connect with people, how to provide a service, what make us humans creates the balance between technology and humans. Technology is a tool.
      Humans balance: it is the responsability of every human being to work in Its internal balance and identity.
      In order to provide an analysis we have to understand what causes the problems, understanding the feelings and Emotional of a situation.
      On this topic in specific, we have to understand what causes the problem: identity crisis, people are lying to themselves, information aims at money and manipulation, ignorance, people dont understand introspection, Carl jung purposes about the soul, how to heal the soul, how to build an identity, etc
      People likes to provide adjetives, lables, stereotypes, prejudices without trying to understand.

    It's so important for Europe to develop it's own AGI, this is not like other technologies, it will be running the entire economy and tilted to make decisions in favour of the elites. There should be a new AI taskforce setup with all major European countries signing up to make this a reality.

      Feel: Since human beings regularly fail to master their own native language with precision, how do you expect multi-lingual regions to develop a multi-lingual AI? USA cannot even get its population adequately trained to Standard, Edited, American English despite 70% of our population being in a federally supported curriculum that teaches Standard, Edited, American English for 13 years for free.
      Let me know when Europe attains mastery of all European languages and cultural nuances and can translate simultaneously and reconcile those within a 10 minute translation time.

      Star: One audience member's truth is another audience member's propaganda.
      Keep in mind that:
      1) 30% of USA children are privately educated;
      2) State education laws allow "private schools" to hire "teachers" who have GED or high school diploma to "teach" K-12;
      3) There is a natural progression from fairy tales to science fiction to conspiracy theories;
      4) There are MANY Americans who have never had a moment of instruction from a college degreed teacher except clergy sermons;
      5) There is NO natural barrier between language and mysticism, not between AI and magical thinking;
      6) Both 'logic' and 'ethics' come from Greek. 'Truth' comes from Old Ey
      nglish (700 to 1100 A.D.). Propaganda is the major form of human communication in the USA st present. HOW do you keep it out of AI?
      7). USA had the illusion of there being national standards for truth as long as Protestantism controlled the public schools.
      8) USA has never had a shared standard for ethics and logic because Catholic schools taught and continue to teach Greco-Roman Latin ethics and logic but the public schools didn't and don't except to high school debate teams.
      9) Much of New Age and Counter Culture is Asian logic and/or Asian mysticism.
      10) AI will know that slavery has been legal and still is in some countries.
      11) AI will know that caste is a standard human concept and so is the 'untouchable.'
      12) AI will know that women being property and children being property are standard human concepts that were legal and that still are legal conditions on earth.
      13) AI knowledge will NOT necessarily support freedom not equality.
      14) Freedom and equality retain the status of human EXPERIMENTS.
      You are welcome to challenge the above analysis. I don't intend it to be propaganda, but I assume others might see it as propaganda.
      There are people who believe in absolutes. Others believe in relative qualities that interact.

    This is a true storry from my company (a big European bank) : we had to renew a very small contract for a software (6k/year). The company was a start - up and had a good, useful idea. The procurement CPO refused to sign the contract because the company was not registered in Ecovadis. The registration on Ecovadis is quite expensive and this small startup had other priorities at that moment. The reason the CPO didn't want to sign was because it would lower her rating in the SLA (she couldn't care less about the climate). At the end yhe business found a work around her.

      Celestial: "In the future, cursive will be a mystic code only the eldest will understand."
      To those who only got a 5th or 6th grade education during the Great Depression, spelling was a technological mystery until spell check became a utility.
      Standard Edited American English is widely unknown in contemporary USA.
      Coding, too, creates an in group and an out group.
      There are also people who believe prayer is as magical as coding.
      Personally, I am anti penmanship, pro fonts; anti spelling and anti autocorrect, pro spell check; pro grammar and pro punctuation, anti grammar check; and neutral on all computer languages. The 2 computer languages I learned are boring and disappointing.
      However, I am curious about the script to movie programs.

      @@CreativityNow well I am definitely Pro spell check and pro grammar check because I need all the help I can get !

    • @CreativityNow
      @CreativityNow 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @celestialcircledance Lots of grammar check is wrong. Autocorrect spelling produced a lot of nonsense.
      But a used copy of Elements of Style for $1 - $2 and read a paragraph a day. When you have read the almost 150 pages, read through it again 2 paragraph a day. You will then know more than the grammar check in the computer and more than most people.

    • @celestialcircledance
      @celestialcircledance 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@CreativityNow Sounds like a good challenge that I may take you up on. I like that you're breaking it down into a paragraph a day which makes it seem manageable when dealing with time constraints and a frazzled attention span. I definitely agree with you about the power of repetition!

    • @CreativityNow
      @CreativityNow 17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @celestialcircledance : William Strunk rewrote his own textbook repeatedly to make it shorter and to express as perfectly as possible what the core of USA grammar is. E.B. White was one of his students. You might know Charlotte's Web, written by White.
      Elements of Style is a classic that the publisher keeps updated.
      Mastering writing can be done by writing 1 paragraph a day on any subject you please. Gradually increase from writing 1 paragraph a day to a page a day of either writing or editing what is already out on paper or screen. In a year you can write a book. Kindle publishes free to the writer.
      If you have no other time for meditating, a paragraph of reading can become a meditation. So can a paragraph of writing. It depends on whether you start producing Alpha Waves in the brain. Alpha Wave production is good for you.
      If you please, you can add 1 mint tea bag a day. Drinking mint tea daily usually makes a person cheerful after a week or 2. Then stresses don't feel sharp. Mint is healthy, non-addictive, inexpensive, and easy to grow indoors or outdoors.
      Often, I merely plop the teabag in hot or cold tap water as a grab and go beverage to keep me hydrated on errands. But the tea bag can also be opened and put in soups or spaghetti or lots of foods, if one does not prefer tea.
      You never have to increase the consumption. If you stop consuming mint, a glum or an anxiety will creep back in within a few days to a week.
      You can easily test this for yourself.
      Also, practice proofreading. Autocorrect tends to insert changes that are wrong.
      Have a wonderful life.

      Europe has a wide communication network because of past empires. That does not equate with control.
      That is, however, what China lacks.
      USA has a very wide communication network because of winning WWII.
      China so far only has emigrant and commercial networks.
      Russia seems anomalous in that it had empire, but itd emigrants seem mostly hostile to it, and it does not appear to be a trustworthy commercial partner.

      Percy: I was startled early in 2024 to learn that German and California GDP are very similar. The oddity in that is California has less than half the population that Germany has. The mathematical comparison that Californians, therefore, have twice the productivity of Germans surprised me. Germans have the reputation of being so hard working and serious while Californians have the reputation of partying seems in such opposition to their relative productional output.
      I understand California has 3 of the major ports on the West Coast. I am only aware of San Diego, LA, SF, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver, and maybe Tacoma. I'm not aware of smaller West Coast ports than those for major, commercial shipping.
      I am aware that California has much more land and agricultural income contributing to its GDP than Germany has.
      Also, of course, California has a great deal of intellectual property income.
      I assume Germany's GDP is predominately from manufacturing, import/export to Europe and global, and tourism. All those are more labor intensive than agribusiness and intellectual property income.
      The contrasts between the 4th and 5th biggest economies in the world are surprising.

    He wants elementary school children taught to code? Where are there teachers to do so? We lack sufficiently trained teachers to teach reading, writing, and arithmetic in rural and ghetto schools as is. Let him write a 4th grade tutorial for school districts to buy, train to teachers in their continuing education, and then put into the inadequate number of classroom computers across the nation.
    Teaching the teachers to code would first of all result in a significant number of teachers quitting to become coders, themselves, from home.
    Next, society would get many more hackers, since ethics is more complex to teach than coding is. USA already has an alarming number of veterans in their 20s who can make any computer do whatever he or she wills done. For the most part they, at least, have learned a fear of jail time for criminal uses of their computer skills.
    I learned Fortran back when. It was too boring! I taught myself HTML to the point thst became boring. Web design eas interesting for a few years. However, I no longer believe techie hype.
    I bought a Palm Pilot in 2000, expecting it to have smartphone capacities except for the phone. That was another disappointment.
    Now, if the technology won't function already on my smartphone, I'm not interested. I'm not bored with my smartphone yet.
