I think if someone is changing his job frequently then he she will get 1 year visa. My wife is here in japan since 2016 and she has always get 1 year visa.

As you know, under Japanese Civil Law, a married couple has an obligation to live together and support each other. However, without money to make living, you can't live. So, it's OK to find a job or opportunity in other places, but in that case, you need to explain your situation very well to immgration office. 1) your financial sutiation 2) How far is the work place from your home address? 3) How often do you go back to your wife? Bearing the above in mind, you need to decide carefully.

That is a great question, but I have had companies give me a 3 or 4 year contract and I still get a one year extension. So I don’t think it’s related.
