Saw this years ago and it helped spark a huge interest in this scandal. Now I’m still reading about it. THANK YOU!!!

One of my favorite historical videos. I love the art, the narration and the story of watergate is super fascinating and so very important for every American citizen to learn about.

Thanks for this great video and the best neutral, fact-based explanation I've found of the whole sordid affair, without the usual self-promotion and equivocation of many of those directly involved.
I am a Watergate dilettante. Lived in MD and PA as it was unfolding. In the 1980s we became friends at Ocean City, MD with a retired couple, Mark and Dorothy. Mark told us he was a retired government employee. Very nice folks and we became good summer friends at the condo complex. Mark and Dorothy even visited us in Western MD and we all went out to the Elks Club for dinner. Very pleasant and down-to-earth folks and a lot of fun to be around. Much later when it was revealed that Mark was Mark Felt - Deep Throat - I about fell over. And I've been hooked on Watergate ever since.

Great summary about Watergate. I just finished Buchanan's new book about Nixon. This led me to search the internet for Watergate information. This video is very well presented. Bravo! Hard to believe that Nixon would go down this road.

I have to look up the issues surrounding Watergate for my Journalism class, and this has helped me so much. Thank you!

Clever. I appreciate your efforts to remain unbiased and fair. I'd love to see more of these for other nebulous topics, like say, Benghazi or the Kennedy assasination. Perhaps fifteen minutes isn't quite enough, but you seemed to have managed here with flying colors. Thanks!

The biggest takeaway from this is that even Oprah gets jury duty.

awesome work :) you have a knack for explanation and hope you do more (i.e. the Bay of Pigs, Iron-Contra,etc)
lots of 2000 kids who want to learn about these events and cartoon form is more engaging.

something's terribly wrong when I defend Nixon. but I remember that dictionaries existed back in the early 70's. you've no legit excuse to blame 'tricky' for losing that spelling bee. besides, I'm almost sure 'the Electric co.' was on PBS, whose programming I don't believe was affected by the hearings.BTW,in your defense ,thoracic is a dumbass word.

Congratulations on producing an amusing potted history of those crazy days. That said, most people's perceptions of Watergate have been distorted by the movie - some of whose "facts" even Bob Woodward's boss at the post didn't buy. Perhaps if you pointed out that McCord was formerly the chief of security at Langley, or that Howard Hunt was formerly the head of the CIA's station in Mexico and Bay of Pigs organiser then people might ask the obvious question: "Why are such extremely experienced (not to mention high-ranking) covert operatives a) involving themselves in small-time operations and b) going out of their way to get caught? Howard Hunt leaving incriminating gear in his safe. Barker putting a big arrow next to Hunt's name in his notebook in case they are blown. Re-taping the locks instead of scrubbing the mission after security discovered the ruse? It's inconceivable behaviour. Not enough is said about both John Dean and Bob Woodward's former ties to military intelligence. The latter had only recently joined the Post (owing a favour to his former commander) and its hard to imagine he could cultivate such a connected source as "Deep Throat" in such short time. And no one will convince me that Mark "COINTELPRO" Felt's concern for freedom, liberty and justice forced him to blow the whistle on Nixon. The historian Peter Dale Scott has followed many of these leads and his conclusions might interest you.
