Nice reflection of the resignation. Nixon should have fought on like Bill Clinton did. The mood of the country could have changed by the time of the vote in the Senate.
Roosevelt, Kennedy and Johnson did acts while they were president that could have gotten them impeached if the acts were discovered.

I don't think Nixon would've survived the impeachment trial. I just don't. Even members of his own party had turned against him, even his staunchest supporters who defended him almost to the end had turned against him. Had Nixon stayed on and got impeached by the full House and convicted by the Senate, he would've lost his lifetime pension of $60,000, and there was every indication that he badly needed that money.

      See 👆 Above.
Nixon did the DECENT thing aka the EXPECTED thing after his SIN
      was discovered.

Clinton NOT getting Impeached was a Big Mistake in my opinion.
Look 👀 at the Rock Bottom LOW STANDARD that was set.
      Example is what you wrote.
      Ongoing ADULTERY and then add
      ongoing PERJURY.
NO fear of GOD or of Man
      + No Consequences
      = Shameless CORRUPTION, etc

In all fairness if Nixon had held out he might have died the pressure was too intense ,Goldwater told him he would lose in the Senate

@@ricardojordanjordan2216 At one point, Clinton would have lost as well but Gore would have won easily in 2000. At least, Nixon would have died in office.

Nixon didn't do anything worse than any of the rest of them . He was just man enough to admit his shortcomings rather than try to worm his way out of it.

      Almost 5 DECADES Ago~
      the MORALS of the Majority
were based on GOD and His Commandments & Principles.
SIN was called, treated like and punished like “Sin IS Wrong”.
      If a Sinner didn’t feel/show any
remorse, regret, repentance?Others helped the Sinner learn via
CONSEQUENCES usually followed swiftly & publicly. Telling the TRUTH and being TRUSTWORTHY were Expected.
NOW? We expect Government Officials to Lie. Consequences are near nonexistent.
NOW? Biden should immediately step down voluntarily. Instead he’s running for reelection!! Cannot think of any other in USA history who deserves IMPEACHMENT more.
