After finishing my last quest in Toussaint, and having completed the game 100%, I came back to this island, standing on a cliff overlooking the ocean.. and turned the game off for the final time, this music being the last thing I heard EDIT: I’d like to clarify I’ve played the game often on and off since then, but closing one’s full play through like that seemed appropriate.
+Pelle Sand best moment for me was when i solved the raining tower problem and i come off from the water and all the villagers are thanking me while this song is playing. awesome moment.
I loved this moment so much. One could say it was very simple cutscene, yet this music fit it so perfectly. One of the best memories about video games ever for me will be this quest.
My favorite mission was “the tower outta nothing”. I don’t know why but when the missions end I feel very nostalgic with the music and the way the people treated you so good and sees you like a hero when you came back from that tower with this soundtrack playing on the back. I loved so fucking much that is one of my favorites parts from the game!
At first, when I just playing the game, I found the music in Velen quite sad and didn't really like it. Depressing mood. Later I found out that every area depicts a mood in the form of background music. When I first came to An Skellig, I immediatly fell in love with this tune. So tranquil, like there's nothing bad going on, anywhere. Talk to the Blacksmith there. You can see pure joy in his facial and vocal expression. What a game..
What a fucking game indeed. There was a strange kind of innocence to this island, it felt like something straight out of a fairytale. Probably the closest thing to a "heaven on earth" I've ever experienced in a game, partly because of the ethereal atmosphere created by this music. I never wanted to leave.
I love this score sooo much... Exploring those ruins finding out about some witcher and king fighting a siege... Simply incredible... I was literally lost in wonder and delight.. A game has not made me feel like that since the first halo more then a decade below.
+wiidiwii Witcher 3 is the first game that I've ever played where I sincerely had emotional moments, it made me tear up a few times.Which has never happened to me in a game, let alone in real life, I'm not one to cry often or truly let things get to to me where I express sadness externally, it take s a lot for that to happen. It is one of those rare games that is able to bridge between great movies and novels IMHO. I felt so many different emotions and things while playing - Joy, hate, anger, love, indifference, bittersweet and of course you have the excellent humor that's peppered all throughout the adventure. TW3 is more than a game, it is art.
+TheDarkSider That's what's so great about the Skelligans; Yes it's based on the vikings, but on the descendants of the vikings that settled on Ireland. Great decision by the CD Projekt Red team in my opinion to make it that little bit more unique.
I got to An Skellig today, nearly by accident. I was so tired by all those smuggler caches and thought I just skip that little island in the north. But then I thought, c'mon, give it a try before going back to crow's perch and I came there and it became the best part of the game. I can't help but cry a lot while listening to this music. Suddenly the people there felt way more real to me than anywhere else in the game. I felt like I instantly wanted to go there and talk to them - in real life... It is so beautiful and sad at the same time, very hard to describe but the thought that I could have accidentally missed all that out of smuggler cache frustration makes me feel somehow full of regret and sorrow.
Same bro. Ruined palace felt so sad, but hearing the story of friendship between jarl Trotegir and Witcher Gerd made me smile. Taking on security system in a magic tower with Siego Bunc, the nicest mage ever, and later meeting with warm people from Urialla village, thanking you for stopping the storm. Completing Tuissearch clan trial of warriors and this music. Favorite place in the game
Getting to the top of that mountain path, seeing the view at the peak as this plays... and getting through to that throne room as you read about Witcher Gerd - it was really something.
Once the music hit while visiting this island I was stunned. All these years later it's one one of the great things that has stuck with me about this game.
The best location in whole game. Wonderful quests like path of warrior. This quest was the easiest in the game but was just fantastic, it made the game more realistic for me.

I wonder how many gamers did that quest and missed the DRM Easter egg twist to it. It was great just like 99%of the other quests in Witcher 3. I still need to do another PT, just finished Hearts of Stone and I'm hoping I have the time to re-read the books and then do another PT of Witcher 3 & HoS before Blood and Wine releases. I should have enough time considering my best guess for the release date of BaW is June 7th. They already stated it will be out before E3, so the first Tuesday of June and a week before E3 fits. Unless they plan on revealing info on May 10th with a trailer and then announce it will be out at the end of May! I'd be cool with that, May 31st works as well.
Not sure why a lot of the ambient music didn't make it into the soundtrack. They are all so well composed, and deserve to be a part of it. Especially this one. Its freaking fantastic!
CDPR must be some sort of wizards because it's one hell of a magic trick to combine scottish, irish and scandinavian culture into one and somehow make it even BETTER.

It makes me incredibly happy that this series became so popular and played it all around the globe. Started as a story written by Andrzej Sapkowski 32 years ago. Continued to become a collection of stories later and then a book. Soon after came another, and another, and we ended up having 9 awesome books and countless stories by other writers. All the world read The Witcher. And then the games came making the universe even more fantastic, with beautiful soundtracks, visual effect and voice acting! That voice acting was so good in original version of the game (Polish). I couldn't imagine a better voice for Geralt.
King's Bran policies were simple : everyone is happy when you bring back a ton of loot and make a big feast. Also, a weak king means jarls can have a lot of power, which is a pretty good situation for them.
Freedom, Adventure, Mystery..... Honour. This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful musics in the game, this one gives you pictures of a life absent of all that cruelty which you encounter in other parts of the world. This path leads to fulfillment.....

The music in this game is amazing, some theme's gets more annoying than other's after x hours exploring the area, especially in Velen. But all the music in Skellige is really amazing, it sticks to your mind even when you are not playing the game haha
My favourite track in the game. Reminds me of the tiny section in The Return of the King OST when Frodo and Sam are on the final approach to Mt Doom and Sam has to carry Frodo - the lone piccolo playing the motif is beautiful. This captures that atmosphere, which is no mean feat.
I know it's years late, but anyway, maybe someone will see this I belive that one of ancient jarls, Tyrggvi Tuirseach created an alliance with clan an Craite, when both clans were weak, and now when an Craite became the most powerful on the Isles they have to protect clan Tuirseach
I've never beat the Witcher 3, just too long and I have little time. Shortly after I got to this island and heard this music, I knew I had to climb the mountain. I signed off at the top of the mountain feeling complete.
I realized this sound was playing while exploring the ruins of the castle. Found some papers about a long forgotten witcher called Gerd, from the school of the bear, who befriended the jarl of the island. Gerd entrusted his friend the diagrams of his own armor when he begin a journey to show he'll be back. But we find those diagrams and figure out too Gerd's fate.
I did Path of Heroes (or how it is called in english) without The Magic Tower, therefore without activating the mission. When I arrived on the island, I thought it was a dark place like the others. There was no one, only sirens, and it was raining because of the curse (just like Udvnik). Arrived in the middle of the clouds at the top of the abandoned fort, the song started. It was still raining, but the song made me totally change my mind about the island's atmosphere. Geralt was alone in this isolated place on the top of the world, after having struggled in that cruel world, which he could no longer see because of the clouds. This game has among the most immersive atmospheres of all. But after some bugs ruined it :( There is only one song that I can not find on TH-cam. For now I only heard it at Crow's Perch just before summoning the Lubberkin and then while following it. Can someone give me a link of that song or upload it please? Sorry if my english is bad.

Just finished that mission yesterday and had EXACTLY the same reaction. I think I stood on that beach for about 15 min just basking.

There's a simple melancholic serenity in this theme that's really contagious, and an excellent accompaniment to the island and it's story.

Skellige is by far my favorite area in the game. Even more so than Toussaint. I’d totally live there in real life, if I could.
