Benjamin's face...? Wow, $300 to repair this thing. A while back I sold a pair of these fully functional for $50 each... delivered. John must love this unit. Amazing detail.
At 5:42 minute the exact same Digital PCB (BE7M70G0402) is also inside European Funai VCR-DVD-HDD Recorders but with a European Firmware with Region Code 2. The firmware is located unther the Panasonic CPU right down the black chip with the white sticker is a TSOP48 Flash ROM I dumped all the firmware from my Funai devices.
I have a unit similar to this(Philips version, same DVD board) and one of your videos helped me fix the VHS player portion, but the HDMI is not working on the DVD board, would you have any idea what would cause that? When I plug the HDMI in it says "480p" on the unit's screen and that's it. I had it in DVD mode.
Hi Steve - We last communicated back in February of this year regarding getting my Nakamichi BX-300 and Denon DP-62L up to you for repair. Just sent you an email (Nakamichi BX-300 Repair) minutes ago regarding repairs on those items and what your workload is. If you wouldn't mind responding via email I would appreciate it. I think my email should be somewhere near the top of your inbox. Thanks Barry Bianculli

Hi can i ask question why do you not use smd caps like tantalum or polymer to replace bad caps. It is must easier and faster and less work?
