Some of the caribbean island are republics and no longer ceremonially under the British crown. Citizens of republics such as Guyana, and Trinidad cannot be knighted.
Two Legents of cricket that will always be remembered for their flamboyancy . They both lead from the front, West Indies team was invincible under the captaincy of both gentlemen . We thank you both for the contribution to world cricket .
Still our parents and those with same aged person knows how dangerous that WI team was at that time... But they both are so loving person I had ever seen. I pray for their long lives.
Clive Lloyd was best captain of West Indies. When he could not defeat Australia in 1975-76 then he started playing with five fast bowlers called pace battery. Lloyd was excellent and wise. I have lot of regards for Lloyd and Viv Richards. Both were excellent players from 1974 to 1985.
Well my all time favourite sportsman and hero king viv with one of my all time favourite cricketers Clive Lloyd, Sir Clive should have been knighted years ago, a true gentleman of the game , what a fantastic team the West Indies were
Under Mr. Lloyed WestIndies team look like a family and all players like own brothers. Respectful team and legendary players. Love from India. God bless all. From my 7th standard till today i am mad fan of Viv Richards. Now i am 50age still i watch old matches of Mr. Viv. Viv is Viv no one can match to him
True but Viv was a pathetic captain...deliberately prevent Lara from entering the side kept on backing Keith Athurton ahead of Lara....not attacking skipper either...give away his no.3 spot to groom other players or better to protect the fragile middle order after Llyod, Kalicharan left the scene... Viv didn't loose test series but was so close to loosing against Pakistan in 1988 but saved by his own brilliant ton against Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Abdul Qadir at peak of their powers.... Sorry this is coming from his biggest admirer....Viv is perhaps finest post war player but a failure as a captain...Stats lie.
@@kunalsingh3121 hmm, I'm not so sure. He was a talismanic captain, more like Kohli than mike brearley. But he was no fool either. He was unselfish and knew how to use his fast bowlers effectively.
@@BinaryRex18 I was in bad mood at the time and went too far...But I am still admanat that he was not a good captain....,,,,Kohli...he is the best Indian test captain of them all and I seen a quite a few since 1977 when I actuallu follow cricket Live..He is the reason India have good new ball ballers now we don't have anyone till Kapil...Kohli didn't inherrit a great te either like Viv...This is bogous comparison to me.. You obviously don't know how Viv didn't let Lara came in bit early...He was unselfish in giving away his no.3 spot where he scored over 40% of his runs with a staggering @63 and a century every fourth innings..But don't know how much it benfitied them... You don't know Viv's impact at 3 either...let me documente a popular well known incident at MCG.. In 1975/76,,When West Indies were getting brutualised and bullied by aussies led by Lillee and Thommo at their aboslute peak...Clive Llyod ask young Viv to go up the order as he was getting a lots of start like 30s and 40s but not a good score secondly Gordon Greendige another talented rockie's confidence was crushed by Lillee and Thommo so much that Greenidge said he was worried for his life....I remember Lillee smashed Gordon in his armpitt in GABBA..Lillee was so mean as good as Andy Roberts and Malcolm Marshall in hurting players...Viv opened in last two tests and scored two centuries and one fifty against Lillee & Thommo including pulling Thommo on front foot no one did that in the era even after his shoulder collison....During his ton at Adelaide Ian chappell standing in first slip said to Rod Marsh:- ''Roadney when West Indies will realise that they had probably greatest no.3 batter for a decade"" Marshy said ""I hope they never do Chappelli'' But they did and in 1979/80 Viv smashed close to 1000 runs in that tour at Bradmanque average of 96 against Lillee, Thommo, Pascoe and Hogg (hailed as most exciting young quick after he picked 40 wickets vs Eng in Ashes 1977 including sending Boycott 4 times).. Allan Border said in 1984 when I saw Viv is not coming at 3...I think they did us a big offer ''Thank you''.......,,,Chappelli said that some players are just born to bat at 3 like Viv Richards, Rohan Kanhai, Ponting, Laxman.... I will anyday pick Clive ahead of Viv as a captain...
@@kunalsingh3121 Kohli is a good captain but perhaps not India's best. CK Nayudu and Kapil Dev would be the frontrunners for that title in my mind. Chappelli is right, some batters are born to come in at 3. Bradman, Richards and Dravid the greatest at that position for me. Clive was a far better captain than viv. That '79 series was amazing, I don't think a batsman has ever played better than viv did on that tour. He treated lillee like a net bowler.
@@BinaryRex18 Nobody really loves to face fast bowlers all day, especially quality fast bowlers like the WI quartet. Even the great Viv Richards had an ordinary average against his own fast bowlers in the domestic competition. I remember reading he had ordinary average against Barbados and Jamaica particularly, which had Marshall/Garner, Holding and later on Walsh respectively. WI quartet was a different beast because they were relentless and came out for your blood all the time, no team in history was able to assemble such a deadly and efficient attack. Only batsman albeit for very short period of time destroyed that quartet with daring stroke play was Jimmy Amarnath, no batsman before or after did what he had done to the WI quartet on their home grounds; He said the only way he could survive against those quality fast bowlers was to go on the attack else you would perish eventually.

0:27 I'm not lying but it is true, just few moments ago I was watching a video on the psychological breakdown about freedom in the anime named Attack On Titan on the channel called Reddrik, he was telling that the main character of the anime (Eren Yeager) and the main character in the movie Shawshank Redemption (Andy Dufresne) are same characters but with different nature. It was a very good video, I searched for some Attack On Titan stuff and I got some real life lessons through that video. And then just for passing time I thought to just watch the old highlights of Viv Richards batting cause he is my favorite Windi legend. And I came here and I see that Clive Lloyd's favorite movie is also Shawshank Redemption about what he gave the example of. Clearly there is something magical in this world man! I don't know what? The world is cruel but it is very beautiful too.

Why isn't Clive knighted? He is responsible for completely changing the way the West Indies played and setting them on course for a dominant 20 years. He did at least as much as Ambrose, who is knighted...
Absolute living legends..
Great era for WI. Unbeatable. Batting looked so easy with them. Great players and great men
To be honest Clive should have been knighted too, his record is phenomenal, his captaincy was perfect, wise man as he is, not got much attention.
He is now, Sir Clive Lloyd- The Greatest Captain ever

There is no fixed criteria for that, utter nonsense. Amrose is knighted but not Walsh.
