  • Nestled in the lush landscapes of India's Western Ghats, the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve stands as a testament to the country's commitment to wildlife conservation. Spanning over 600 square kilometers of pristine wilderness, this sanctuary is not only a haven for the majestic Bengal tiger but also shelters a diverse array of flora and fauna. The reserve's dense forests, sparkling lakes, and rolling hills offer a breathtaking backdrop for adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts alike.
One of the most thrilling experiences within the reserve is bamboo rafting, where visitors can gently float along the tranquil waters of the Parambikulam Reservoir. Led by experienced guides, these eco-friendly rafts provide a unique vantage point to observe the reserve's rich biodiversity, including elusive species like the Indian elephant and the endangered lion-tailed macaque. As the raft glides silently through the water, guests are immersed in the sights and sounds of the jungle, forging a deep connection with nature that leaves a lasting impression. Additionally, the reserve offers exhilarating night jungle safaris, allowing brave souls to venture into the wilderness under the cloak of darkness. Led by expert naturalists, these nocturnal excursions offer a rare opportunity to witness the secret lives of the forest's nocturnal inhabitants, from prowling leopards to elusive owls. Lit only by the soft glow of the moon and guided by the keen senses of the guides, these safaris promise an unforgettable adventure that unveils the mysteries of the night. Whether by day or by night, a journey through the Parambikulam Tiger Reserve is a testament to the beauty and resilience of the natural world, inviting all who visit to become stewards of its fragile ecosystems

All of you are excited about the Location. But remember the uneducated Architect Kamaraj who was responsible for thus Parambikulam Aliyar Project PAP. Also remember the PWD Engineers and supporting staff who sacrificed their life for your enjoyment.

    Detailed experience,
We had a very unpleasant experience with the guards who accompanied us from check-in to check-out. We understand that this is a nature camp, so we did not expect any luxuries from the beginning. However, we feel compelled to share some feedback.
Right from the check-in office, a troublesome guard joined us. He informed us that we would be traveling 4km by boat, but in reality, it was only about half a kilometer, with a travel time of just 20 minutes. Following our arrival, we went on a trek with this guard, and the sightseeing was indeed fantastic. However, after the sightseeing, our expectations were not met. The bed and pillow covers were not changed during our stay; only a minor cleaning was done after each guest checked out. Although a new set was provided from the office for each check-in, the guards neglected to change the covers. It was truly unacceptable to use bedding that had not been washed. After a dispute, they reluctantly made the change.
The night was challenging with no power, fan, or light, accompanied by loud rat noises and mosquito bites. This environment was entirely unsuitable for children and the elderly. Despite the checkout time being stated as 12 pm, the guards insisted we leave by 9 am due to supposed waves. We contested this decision as there are no waves in dam water, as they claimed, but our arguments were futile. Consequently, we spent from 4 pm to 9 am in an unproductive standoff with the guards.
We feel compelled to mention the names of the guards, ACHAN and THAMI, from the team we traveled with on June 6th 2024.

Hi sir, thank you for the video. How will the weather be in mid August in paraimbikulam. And what safari time will be best - 8am morning slot or evening sir? Do you have any suggestions regarding this.

Hi Shivani. Thank you so much!
August will be the best time to visit Parambikulam as the forest will be in full green! 8 AM safari will be good, but if you are going to stay in parambikulam., then evening Safari will be the best to watch for more wild animals! I would suggest to stay in parambikulam and they offer a package Rs 3375 per person. If it is affordable for you then try it once! Best wishes!
