My God you're so right all chanel no 5 and other perfumes went up everywhere. some just $2 for the body lotions and creams. and $7 for the 6.8 oz of No 5 which is now $265.

This is utterly disgusting 🤮 These prices are fucking ridiculous. I still vividly remember purchasing my very first Les Exclusifs 75ml bottle in 2010/2011. I bought Jersey for 110€ !!! I’m from Belgium.

Not sure if im the minority here, but luxury is played out. This is coming from someone who has a great collection of CC and LV. I'm saving to retire early, invest in stocks and properties. They can keep price increases because i've been done for about 2 years (haven't purchased) and still happy as ever without their stuff!

Stop buying their products! Consumers can dictate S&D (supply and demand) which ultimately means we can determine how much prices increases or decreases.
When the demand is high, companies can raise their prices b/c we will still continue to buy their product. When the demand the is low, companies reduce their prices b/c consumers are not purchasing their products. Think about "the Covid Era" of 2020 and how gas prices dropped almost overnight. People were working from home (or laid off) so the demand for gas was not as high...the gas prices decreased drastically.
I love Chanel fragrances and have worn them for more than 15 yrs but these increases are crazy! To make matters worse, the smell quality is not there (very weak). I open a new bottle of parfum when the 3.4oz gets low and you can "tell" and "smell" how weak the scent is compared to a bottle from a few years ago. I can't and won't continue to spend my $$$$ on a product that does not reflect the quality it should. Chanel, I"m out of your price increase/quality decrease game!
I am in the US and I buy all my Chanel and Guerlain exclusives from Selfridges. Saved hundreds of dollars already.

Thats an option buuut I prefer seeing my perfumes live in boutique and the experience in the boutique and the extras they may give you in the boutiques, which you will never get if you order from Selfridges… alas… choices.
I've been considering buying fragrances from self ridges. How is the packaging? Does everything come in pristine condition?
Yes, everything is packed very well and delivered in 2-3 days. Dacob is right, you get no extras and no any samples. You can also get a yearly delivery subscription, it used to be $60 for international shipping, now it is $100, but still worth it for me. Lots of fragrances and skincare items are like 30% cheaper in the UK, go figure.

This is a great deal for someone to save up and make one purchase of fragrances that they want. I'm so tempted to buy some! I'm always worried that they might come in all banged up or something. Weirdly enough, in the swedish Chanel website they already increased the prices on January 1 2025, all the Les Exclusifs 200ml went up around 50 dollars (equivalent), except Comète, it's still at the 2024 price today January 31. I just checked it.
Also Eau De Cologne 200ml is still cheaper, priced about 73 dollars (equivalent) less than the others.
I'mna check on comete jeez this is like the 3rd hike in a yr I feel.

YOU WERE RIGHT!!!! I just checked and prices are up on the body oil by $15, the No. 5, Chance and other edts and edps by five dollars, the soaps by a dollar, the body creams and lotions by a few dollars...and that's just what I noticed from shopping recently! I noticed they hadn't upped the price for the No. 5 parfum - maybe it hasn't been selling as well. So sad to see Chanel doing this...but you called it long ago!
A few short years ago I was in a boutique contemplating between jersey and coromandel. Since I was smitten with both, I bought each in the 75ml and have used them equally. I have about 30 ml in both left over and will need to upgrade to the 200ml soon. With these prices it's trickier to expand to other fragrances in the line (i'm eyeing no.18)
Due to price increases, I've resorted to spending less on fragrance overall. It might become a once a year occurrence going forward.
Chanel Australia just increased the price of the 200ml bottles by 13.5% - I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the new prices last night!
And after your price increase, they still cost over a hundred US dollars less than in the US after taxes.

If they lowered prices, their revenues would increase significantly. The volume of sales would skyrocket. The raising the prices to make up for lost sales due to inaccessible pricing for consumers is a vicious cycle. The margins are already high on their beauty products, they are making terrible decisions industry wide. People are finding more affordable alternatives.
Now I feel lucky! I have a bottle of N°19 extrait unopened… I guess I’ll keep it that way
I was eyeing some products from the Sublimage line which is already very high. Can't wait for Feb 18th to see how it turns out. If it's too high I've ok with skipping Chanel. I love them but there are other comparable lines out there with same or better efficacy with inferior sensorial experience. I will miss the Chanel sensorial experience...I think they really did a exemplary job of in that department...although I do wish they would implement a screw top air pump on their jar creams or make their products more air tight as possible.

Today the Chanel page was off … and now Misia is 440 Euro/200ml, Cristalle 168 Euro/100ml … the 75ml is now at 250 Euro.
The EU chanel website was down for maintenance on the 5th of February but that had nothing to do with the price increase online. Their prices online went up on Monday, February 3rd, 2025. Not every item went up in price though. The les exclusifs oils stayed the same price but I think its due to the fact that they did not sell too well and were already super expensive to begin with but I might be wrong about the sell-through rate of those. But just compared to their massage oils, the les exclusifs oils are over a hundred dollars more expensive in the US.
Yes, will def still buy from the Les Exclusives range for the simple joy it brings me. I’m in Australia and, after blind-buying Comète in the 75ml, and of course love it, I just bought it in the 200mL on-line, living in hope that I score the star-burst box. Prices just increased in France today as well. Alas. I hope you got comete before the price increase. They are now 440 euro a bottle instead of 405 euro for 200ml and 250 euro a bottle for the 75ml insisted of 230 euro.

Last December, expecting this, I purchased a 200ml back-up bottle of Sycomore (from across the pond where, with shipping, I still paid less than it would have cost me in the US). I question whether I'm getting priced out of the Les Exclusifs or whether I'll just accept the cost of the 75ml bottles.
Last time I checked, my Bloomingdale’s had few Les Exclusif extraits in 15 ml. They were not on display, but if you ask, SA will look through the drawers.

Bought the 200ml eau de cologne years ago, it cost 195 euros in Paris then! The best eau de cologne or eau fraiche that I've ever tried. I discovered my bottle again that still has about a quarter of the quantity left, but, alas it has gone sour/off, because about 10years have passed.....
I probably need to get the set, I do love the eau de cologne

Yes, it appears to be a glitch or an oversight… 🤫 don’t shout it out too loud and strong into the wild or else they will notice. Lol. Cuz comete 200ml went up in price to 440 euro in their physical boutiques so I gather there must be some glitch or they just forgot to up that one price or maybe they still have the embossed limited edition boxes left over and will sell those out first at the original price before they up the price to the new price with regular new batches of white non embossed boxes. Cuz the 75ml went up in price just like all the other 75mls and the 75ml was not embossed. It’s either that or a glitch or an oversight on their end. I don’t know what other reason they might have. If anybody knows, please let me know too. Thank you.

do not worry about the price of fragrances increasing, do worry about when they tell you a loaf of bread is one hundred English pounds, and you cannot afford to buy it to eat; you won't die for not having money for fragrances, but you can die for no having money to eat ........... We are now more focused on stupid things like this, I used to be involved in superficial and shallow things like fashion, fragrances, new watches, laptops, and crap like that ............. This is meaningless and has no real purpose in our lives. Focus on living your life with less garbage like this and you will enjoy the real beauty of life .......... "FREEDOM", we let it pass when we focus on empty and shallow things like this.

No5, Coco Mademoiselle and Gabriella parfums are restocked fairly regularly. The other ones are gone.
Chanel beauty has always made more money than the couture. In The 1950s it was no5 that kept chanel relevant. Ad the clothes weren't selling then her couture had a resurgence thanks to Americans.

So sad 😢 about the price increase... I live in Switzerland and I ordered a few backups. I ordered Paris-Paris, Paris-Riviera and I hesitate buying a backup of my beloved n°22... I already have backups of my other love: n°5 edp version. In Switzerland the prices are higher than in France.
How long can you keep a bottle of backup?
Maybe forever? I think the shelf-life is commensurate with the quality of the materials. I have a few Les Exclusifs from 2016 that have only gotten better with age.

Which one is your favourite?
Chanel perfumes can last a super long time if stored properly away from humidity and strong temperature jumps. No22 turns very dark in color due to the vanilla in it oxidizing but that does not mean that the perfume has gone bad and even if the top notes go a bit off, the base notes are probably still going to be intact and fabulous. But to each their own. This is just my opinion of course. 💖
It's a gamble honestly even if stored in 'safe' conditions. I have perfumes from the 70s which still smell more or less intact (minus top notes) and I have some which went bad after 10 years. For me around 8-10 years is probably a decent range...anything beyond that is out of your control. Mind you I live in the tropics...if you live in a cold area...it might be a better condition to keep things for longer.

If they were still price about a hundred dollars less, I would probably buy moat Chanel fragrances. At the price they are now, and the rate of price increase, I will probably never buy from them. There is better for less.

I got the first batch ever made of coromandel parfum years ago, way before the lockdowns and it’s still perfect to this day…
Just think about how you use it. Splash bottle always gets affected by oxidation faster. Plus, liquid is not isolated, so a lot bacteria can come from your skin. If you touch the bottle neck with your fingers when applying the fragrance or you rub the cap into your skin, you are infecting the liquid with a lot of damaging stuff like your sebum and bacteria.

All of them babes. All the les exclusifs extraits are gone. From the main line they still produce No5, Coco Mademoiselle and Gabrielle. The rest is gone.

I loved Les Exclusifs but now: FUCK OFF whole CHANEL - am not stupid to pay more than 200 for scented smell . Same thing I did with Guerlain - I simply stopped buying - they need to know they live from their customers .. if everybody stops buying these unnecessary craps, they´ll stop doing this embarassing price tricks that every kid at middle school is able to recognize there´s something wrong.
