@@strangerontheinternet7358 Correct, but the Cattail *replaces* the plant it is planted on, where as the coffee bean spends several seconds simultaneously existing on the same spot as the plant it is put on. thus, For several seconds, there are 3 plants in that column if there is already another plant in that section. Not really a big deal though. If it's only permanent plants, then that's fine. Just slightly confused because I don't think that was ever called out as an exception to the rule in the video.

I decided to think of challenges hard but not dumb, and then I was like. *Use only pea plants* (This means things like Pea shooter, Three-peater, Ice pea, Repeater, Gatling Pea, and everything else that shoots peas). This should be done on Hard on backyard. Also, your only allowed 6 sunflowers (The average amount a pea pod would make), and no twin sunflowers.
I think upgrading plants shouldn't be banned since the original plant is just completely replaced, however coffee beans are a bit of a weird situation to me. They don't replace the plant entirely, they just make the plant usable, but you do have to plant the coffee bean and there is a visual of the coffee bean on the plant when you put it on a plant.
I like how this challenge became instas at the end, you saved up enough sun by not using most of your available defenses, so you had less to lose so you could afford the instas. Smart strategy.

Here's my idea: Survival Pool with only Cattail as offense and the challenge is to hold the zombies off with defensive plants. Wall-Nuts, Tall-Nuts, etc are good. You can also use the Ice Shroom and similar plants. Instas are allowed if things get too rough. You can plant up to six Cattail, but you can break this rule.
Daytime plants* Also its easy because if you allow upgrades than you get 2 lanes of Twin Sunflowes, Three lanes of Gatling Peas, a lane if Snow peas and than use Cherry Bombs for bigger zombies
