Hey Nick, love watching your builds! I built an audio production PC for my older brother in the A3 recently (inspired by your review!). Luckily I didn't have such a beefy GPU to work with, so I was able to fit 2 Noctua fans down below for intake and 3 up town for exhaust. Has been working like a dream without making any noise. Keep up the great work, my friend.

If you said nothing else, you would've still got a like for, "I'm not really into the RGB thing." Add in the number of tips & tricks, with visuals, as well as explaining the reason(s) for a certain order of operations in a given build, and I see a solid video. I reckon it doesn't hurt that I also want that case (with the wood front), and the same CPU and cooler. Plus, the XFX 7900 XT I want is "supposed" to fit under that same cooler. The PSU form factor solves a few issues I've seen in other A3 builds, and the low profile memory sticks... understated, yet all business. Perfect.👍

As someone who has a vertical gpu mount and a dual tower cooler installed, every time I have to do something, I have to remove the cooler first, then the gpu, otherwise I wont be able to plug the riser in. This or the NCASE M2? Money is no object for the case. I just need a portable M-ATX build I can put in a bag. I am sort of a nomad so portability is a must. It will house a Powercolor 7900 GRE (29 cm) and a 7800x3d. Air cooled, no AIO. Thanks for the great videos!

have you tried flipping the rear exhaust fan to an intake(as well as the cpu cooler)? seems like it would be pretty a pretty decent solution, but then the exhaust becomes a bit weird, i guess you would still want a mid/low rpm/cps fan exhausting where youre now using an intake fan. this would probably work well with a gpu that would primarily exhaust through the side as well.

thank you so much for your testing and insights! it encouraged me to make a similar build.
but with the gigabyte 4080 super and corsair rm850x as well as thermalright phantom assassin 120 SE. ive got 2 lian li p28 120mm fans as well and will use it as you show. however, the side intake fan touches both CPU fan and the PSU chassis. i mean, it closes without force but its in permanent touch of those two. dunno if that can be a problem? also ive got a spare corsair 120mm slim fan without any other use than in this build. i understand your take on the thermals here, but i guess the one place where it would not do harm (likewise not too much good maybe) is bottom right of the GPU, just below the side fan, right? or would you say just dont change a bit and stick to 2 fans in a setup like this?

  • @kennythegreatbear

Custom loop double rad water cooled setup (specs say side 280/360, top 360, bottom 240/360 ... so maybe a triple rad setup ha)
I do love air cooling tho
Can only assume you played around with rear intake, side exhaust / + top exhaust ??

Have you measured with a negative pressure setup with back intake and changing the CPU cooler direction? It's what I'm doing with my Torrent Nano. The idea is that the positive pressure inside the case wouldn't fight the GPU from taking in the air. I also got a magnetic dust filter at the back intake. I plan to go 7700/9700X(eco mode) route, so lower TDP on CPU with chunky cooler on top (probably Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO) and RTX 3070. I wonder if put one fan on the side and one on the rear whether that would be enough for the airflow of this case?

Q2: If you placed the edge psu on the side - with cables plugged in - and its backed forced against the side wall - would the GPU sit far enough out or would it run right into the cabling/even the slim part of the psu itself. Thank you! I really want to air cool a 9800x3d and a 5090 in this thing - but might need to aio or watercool and I am just trying to come up with a plan. Thanks!!!!

I needed a very small USB-C Adaptercard and it was a very tight Fit. The other Slot on the Bottom of the MB was useless because the GPU blocked it.

I'd love to have that board for the 3 nvme slots, but it's discontinued and being price gouged like mad on ebay. Its the only m-atx am5 board with 3 nvme slots with that strong of a vrm. Although Asus isn't my goto.

I am planning to go down the opposite direction: Light-weight GPU (Inno3D 4070 OC Stealth), heavy-weight CPU (7950X), ultra light-weight case (my S393, ie. S300 modified for liquid cooling, which is currently at 10.17L, final version is going to be about 10.3L), ultra-thin rad (Silverstone Vida 240). Combine it all, and you get a portably system at less than 6 kg all in.
    cu, w0lf.

Hi! Just built my pc and I'm wondering how do you switch the Psu on if it's inside? And would it be okay to unplug it while the Psu is on once I shut it down? Or would that be not necessary? Thank you!
