Man i seriously laughed hearing you say " i thought of underplaying at the Goldman Sachs interview''. Google was destined for you i guess. But good luck on your internship at Goldman Sachs next summer brother. Learning a lot from you.

I'm 100% sure if you don't end up getting an interview for Goldman Sachs you will be the upcoming intern at GOOGLE, I'm very happy that I have such a great mentor on youtube.

A placement coordinator in an IIT here. The "one student one offer" policy is not at all strange, and is followed across majority of campuses in India. The "spot" offer as it is generally called is implemented to maximize the number of offers of the college, reducing any unnecessary wastage of offers which might happen if a student is selected for two companies.
Generally, it is the job of the placement cell to properly schedule the companies (best company on the first day, and so forth) so that this policy doesn't negatively affect any of the students.

In my college, there is a better internship policy, all the faang companies visit on day 1 and we have to give our preference order in which we will be sitting (in which we are shortlisted) for the interviews, once we get an offer, then we cannot sit further. But the best part is that we have given our preference order, so we will be getting offers accordingly.
