- Music For Montserrat was a benefit concert held on 15 September 1997 at the Royal Albert Hall to raise funds for the Caribbean island of Montserrat after a major volcanic eruption earlier that year. The song is also known in full as "I Don't Know Where I'm Going to Go when the Volcano Blows"

In defence of the UK, Jimmy is a complete unknown here, and how he got a Royal Albert Hall gig confuses me. Say his name to the man on the street and only 1 in 100 might recognise it, and about 1 in 10000 might be able to name a song. Up until recently I was one of them, but have fallen in love with vibe and tunes. 2023 need more Buffett in our lives, especially here in Ol' Blighty 😁
This was in 1997 and there are are a lot of British artists who have been forgotten since them. He played the show because it related to his connection with Montserrat.
I’m sorry you didn’t find him sooner. Jimmy’s concerts with his Coral Reefer Band were pure fun.
This was at the concert music for Montserrat after the volcano, irrupt it and destroyed the island… I Tarrare is a British county and there’s a list of music superstars from Sting to Eric Clapton, Phil Collins, etc. that all showed up for this concert… Check it out… I spent two years and four months on Montserrat. I know it well and I also know Air’s recording studio well a Montserrat… Which is the connection for all the rock stars that showed up for this music for Montserrat concert at Royal Albert Hall… I also know Royal Albert Hall, well as medical board exams were taken there…
Jimmy Buffet was the second artist to record at George Martin’s AIR Studio’s at Montserrat. All the artists who performed at this benefit concert were all artists who recorded their albums at Montserrat, and highly regard the island and its people for making their stay enjoyable and helping them create their music. When the volcano began erupting in 1995 and eventually lead to the demise of of the main population centre of the island (Plymouth and surrounding homes). In 1997, George Martin organised this concert and invited artists which recorded at AIR Montserrat to perform to raise funds for the victims of the Volcano

Ummm. He wrote the song before 1982 because the number one song in the PNW (Pacific Northwest) May & June 1980 was Volcano.
