- is the third-largest city in Egypt after Cairo and Giza, the seventh-largest city in Africa, and a major economic centre. With a total population of 5,381,000, Alexandria is the largest city on the Mediterranean - also called the "Bride of the Mediterranean" by locals - the fourth-largest city in the Arab world and the ninth-largest urban area in Africa. The city extends about 40 km (25 mi) at the northern coast of Egypt along the Mediterranean Sea. Alexandria is a popular tourist destination, and also an important industrial centre because of its natural gas and oil pipelines from Suez.

A city with a teeming population that lives in its streets, colors, sounds, cars and trash everywhere, not a waste receptacle in sight. But there must be beautiful, wealthy areas. I'd like to see them, too. Wow....

I wish that there would be a big cleaning campaign in Alex to clean all that trash from the streets and also people should be taught in schools (if not getting that upbringing at home) NOT TO THROW GARBAGE IN THE STREET AND IN THE SEA! Also some buildings need urgent renovation. Otherwise very nice city, I've been there couple of times.
When I filmed this, it was the end of a big Muslim Holiday and people were throwing out big bucket of human feces in the street to show the neighborhood that they had a big party the night before…

So peaceful and beautiful it looks but what language do they stand do they understand English and German? Are there any famous or good hotels it looks such a beautiful place

as an Alexandrian studying in Germany , i would like to welcome you and wish you a beautiful time there , it is recommended to not visit in summer though , i would say november is perfect time , it would be hard to find people who speak german there but for sure people do understand english in touristic places like the citadel and the library , enjoy :)

Same Lada taxis as in 1981 😮. I lived between Glym and Shatby as a student for 6 months.
it seems to be cleaner than Cairo, which is catastrophically dirty. After watching this video i will definetely settle down in Alex.
If this is clean for you, I can't imagine how Cairo can be.

There used to be loads of Greeks there.
many of em become perma citizens of egypt. Thus why u'll also see alot of mixed hispanic-european and mediterranian descent people in there.
