      Lol I washed my car the other day and my mom was like, you know it's going to snow and rain this week right? I said yeah thats why I'm washing it now. Gotta protect it from the weather. Actually did pretty good at keeping the ice off the windshield.

    Salt Away is a phenomenal product. I work in the marine industry and that stuff is a staple in that community. Instead of pushing the salt into harder to reach areas, Salt Away actually dissolves it.

    I just finished washing my Tacoma using your exact method. Wow! This works even better than you had described it. First wash of the winter and there was barely anything to clay off. Where has this been all my life?! The Ryobi foamer worked way better than its price would suggest. The Snow Storm seems like it suspends the Salt Away to the surface for longer

    Was getting to do a winter wash your recommended salt away and new video. Thanks for the update. Do you use salt away on the bottom of doors and door and trunk jambs? Or does enough salt away get in the jambs from the cannon/blaster? Also, do spray and rinse the under carriage with salt away?

    What pressure washer are you using? Also from watching you for years, I know you are very knowledgeable, I’m having a issue with my new compressor it is a California air tools 20 gallon compressor. I’ve been trying to use a blow gun with it but every time I do the regulated psi drops from the set 90 psi to about 60 or 70 psi. Do you know what could or might be causing this issue? I don’t have any leaks as I’ve checked the lines and everything.

    Worx has a simple foam cannon that goes with their hydroshot. I have one yet to use it.

    Phil, great video. Been using the 007 gloss enhancer and wheel cleaner and love them. How is the alpha treating you in the snow? Any challenges daily driving it? Thinking of switching to it from my quattroporte but trying to see how it is in the winter.

      it is a ton of fun in the snow check my Alfa snow drive videos on the channel i had one last week posted. you just need good winter tires but the car is so balanced and easy to control when drifting

    I would do similar all winter last year. Greenstar 10:1 spray entire car down than rinse off at coin op. Then i would take Mckees sio2 RW/WW and dry the paint.

    You should try Wash Chem Pro 50 You just have to spray it on and spray it off. It will clean the wheels also.

    It was -2 F this morning in Toronto. I washed my car in the garage with Optimum No Rinse and the big red sponge. Then hit it with turtle wax seal and shine.

    Do you know any undercarriage cleaner that could spray soap? The ones that are widely available all have small orifice which I don’t think an inline soap dispenser would work.

      you are able to blast the hell out of the salt and grime in one step versus a conventional foam cannon. Check my review video i did a few months back. I knew it would be perfect for winter.

    how cold is it? i heard washing cars in temps below 50 is not good...so i only waterless wash in my garage..true? i agree hate driving my car when its dirty

    I noticed that if you leave road salt in the car in 1-2 weeks it will eat through Griots 3n1 ceramic spray wax!

      i did until someone stole it from the garage recently i think the sprinkler guys took it when they blew out the system for winter.

      I have a professional steam cleaner but its very slow to clean surfaces and not very efficient. I have seem some very elaborate systems to steam entire cars but i do not have one or have access to one to try

    I was thinking of using salt away in my foam Canon along with some prewash foam. Is your product you mixed with it a prewash? And what dilution ratio did you use with the salt away?

      not worth it since the salt away is so inexpensive and out soap it wouldn't make sense to add another seasonal product

      I do 10% water, 50% salt away and the rest with my soap. I have tested various ratios and this is the most effective as this video shows without me touching the car.

      links for every item used posted in the video description. My pressure washer goes up to 3500 PSI but i left it at 2500 for this wash as you can see how powerful the blast was when foaming the wheels and car

      never tried that but i have spent a long time testing compatibility with salt away and with our new soap the chemistry works perfect. on some other soaps it was awful and did not clean well and left a residue that was a bitch to get off.

    Thanks again for another great video. Question though. I see people talking about undercarriage washes. I've got a power washer / undercarriage set up now. Do you have any suggestion on how I can incorporate something like Salt Away in line with the undercarriage sprayer?

      well i had an awesome undercarriage sprayer but someone stole it from the garage recently and i suspect the sprinkler guys when they came to turn the system off for winter. the issue with the undercarriage cleaner is all of my cars are lowered and i can not even get it under the car except for my Alfa Romeo Stelvio. the bottom of my Giulia is all covered in aero panels and all of the stuff is aluminum and not steel which has held up amazing for 4 winters so far

      Amazon sells the quick connect for Pressure Washer with a line that goes into what ever your planning on using soap or yes you and run your slat off in your hose...maybe bad for your hose so I suggested put the quick connect to the tip of your Pressure washer wand

      I don't think he has a way of incorporating the salt away with the undercarriage sprayer. Watch one of his older videos on this topic. I have bought an undercarriage sprayer after watching his video. I tried putting salt away in the soap tank of the pressure washer but it didn't work. Since someone apparently stole his, it doesn't look like he came up with a solution to your inquiry.

    It’s -29 deg C here, wayyyy too cold to be putting water on a car! What’s the highest pressure you’d throw directly at your car? I always use low pressure when washing my QV.

      usually 2500 is the max i use on a wash but its all about the distance from the car and orifice of the jet you use. so many people use Zero degree nozzles up close and tear paint off bumpers due to user fault. once you adapt fast sweeping technique the PSI just makes the process go faster and its safe

      My water supply is in the garage and it never gets below 50 degrees i do not use warm water other than what comes out of the feed

    Our Garage is not heated would using an IK foamer work in the same way with the salt away and soap.

      yeah years ago i was using the IK and Solo sprayers with the salt remover it works just takes more time. Look into getting an air charged sprayer where you can charge it up with compressed air those work better

      after winter i put the car up and detail it but the entire underside is covered in aero panels

      the bottom of this car is all covered with aero panels and its too low to the ground to even get that under it

      I got an upstream injector for my pressure washer and I'm diluting salt away and using the undercarriage cleaner to spray it with the solution. I'll see how it does over the winter. Let me know if you get a chance to test in on your end. My car is fairly low with aero panels and the undercarriage cleaner fits under it no problem. Make sure you get the right sized nozzles. The Adam's undercarriage cleaner comes with the correct sized nozzles.

      other older videos on this channel showing that but the Alfa is too low to the ground to get the chassis cleaner under it however the car is all aluminum with heavy anti corrosion nuts and bolts and covered in full composite aero panels so far 3+ winters and its all good nothing is rusted.

    You don’t get nervous of water freezing on your driveway when it’s cold out? I’m nervous I would have a sheet of ice after a wash.

      the driveway gets direct sun which rarely freezing up but with the pitch all water goes down the drains on the end of the driveway so it works pretty good

      the entire bottom is covered in composite aero panels and the chassis is all aluminum, 4 years no harm yet
