UV radiation can have a negative effect on pretty much everything (including fading of clothing, even hair becoming lighter), including artwork that is painted. However, compared to the ink from fiber-tip pens, graphite pencils offer far better resistance. In general there are various standards that define lightfastness and provide for verification via tests. As we have not carried out any of these tests with our graphite pencils, we are not able to provide any information about the lightfastness of our pencils. According to our Lab, it can be "expected" from a chemical point of view that graphite downstrokes would show a high lightfastness if we had carried out these tests. However, it must always be taken into account that environmental influences (temperature, humidity, incidence of light, etc.) also have a corresponding influence on the lightfastness.
