David's comments are genuine, fact based and respectful to both teams - so wecome in contrast to the nonsense that other 'experts' put out there. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
it is anything but pompous.. England had the better off the conditions (yet again), and still comprehensively lost. It was far more than an hour of poor performance..
I have ever seen such a stylish batsman in d world than David Gower. Silken and deft touches, no hard hitting, only d silken touch, caressing d ball, it will reach d boundary.
Wanna say a big big HELLO to Mr David Gower! It was so heartening and _nostalgic_ to see you after so many years! We were your ardent fans when you played against India. And yeah, in my personal opinion, you were one of the most elegant and graceful batsmen England ever had!! And because of your prowess and expertise in batting, we would have a huge sigh of relief, with your dismissal!! But players like you, Allen Knott, Chris Arnold and Andrew Flintoff are our most favorite foreign players. So much, that we collected your photos and pasted them in our collection-book!! That's why seeing you speaking, suddenly on TH-cam, was an absolute delight Mr David!! And yeah, you still have the same winsome, charming smile!! May God always bless you and keep you smiling just like that!! Shreenivas P. Kashelkar Mumbai India.😀🙋
I'm discovering this so late! Thrilled to see my favorite English player of all time, a sublime bat and childhood hero! So good to see you David! Remember you with such fondness..Love from India.
The great David Gower. What a batsman he was!! Those glorious and smooth cover-drives. The most gracious batsman, along with Martin Crowe, ever to play the game of Cricket.
That was a psychological move to keep their openers guessing and didn't want to give them time to breathe before they start, this move played a big part in their dismissal and both the openers were removed in space of two overs. I would say, It was a very good tactic used by virat & shastri to unsettle their openers. 😊😊😊
David Gower - You are truly genius. Outstanding facts and analysis. One of the most elegant left handed batsman. My childhood hero. We need you in the commentary box.
After Richie Benaud's cricket commentary no one better than respected Sir David Gower, cricket lovers round the globe always love yur commentary, God bless yu with longevity
Certainly delighted to see David Gower, elegance personified from the late 70's to the early 90's. My childhood hero too, along with Ian Botham. Would love to meet you in the near future. 😊
you blind? rohit sharma, de-villa( better than all of them put together), joe root, rahul on his day is as good as they come, a decade ago--brian lara, flemming for a short time, mark waugh-top, damien martyn( one dayers), azharduddin. david gowers adversery in martin crowe--this is a tie though! GILL coming along, babar azam up there! some notables: carl hooper, zaheer abbas, veng-sarkar, kalicharan, micheal clerke, sangakara, gayle, martin guptil, nathan astle, ganguly so you have few around even today. tall guys look elegant( so you have to cut 15% ratings for equity--similar to tall models) because you had aravinda who was quite elegant. kalu in one dayers was superb along with jaya!
My friend tells me a story that he met David Gower once on a railway station in England. David was waiting for a train to go to watch a Test match. David was talking with my friend and bunch of his friends (all Indian students and strangers) casually. When the train came he mentioned, now he has to get in. If this would have been India, you guys would have stopped this train till I am aboard. But this is England. :-) :-) Such a down to earth person. Indians adored Gower and his stylish game and cool as cucumber persona.
An ardent fan of David Gower. I miss his curly stylish hair. Gentlemen cricket brand ambassador. Such person must be in commentary box. Good comments and analysis from him. Attacking tailenders in a different manner. Currently many are working hard like Bumrah and Shami. They have been recognised rightly for their passion gutsy to stay at grease after taking blows. Wonderful performance by Indians. Only David Gower could take it in positive stride. Englishmen and others must take a leaf out of his qualities for cricket
He is a bully. I'll never forget how he shoved jadeja in the dressing room or something and STILL got away with it. Sigh. Nywys suits him well, hope we can deliver the knockout punch too in this series.
Lovely to see you David. It was an amazing game and throughly enjoyed watching. We can celebrate, cheer, jump with joy but when we show the body language of mean faces and actions it goes down the drain. Why can’t we just enjoy the win with good actions. Kohli attitude and body language needs to be improved. No need for ugly faces. Overall it was a fantastic game and proud of my Indian team
David, you were most finest stylish batsman from england just as Vishy was from our side. Its great to watch you and in that you spoke elegantly gracefully like your sterling batting. We Indians very delighted as much when you were captain at Lords in 1986 against Kapil Dev, when we won.Outstanding victory and admire your candid comments.
Always look for David Gower voice , such a soothing voice and unbiased commentary. Excellent batsman and gentlemen 👌. , it’s great to see india another win overseas, but it hides some batting’s consistency problems especially Kohli .. even Rahane scoring once in 5 matches .. that is one of the reason we lost in WTC final . They need to step up as well
What David Gower missed or rather the interviewer failed to ask is that England team has had two consecutive collapses batting in the fourth inning of a test match, first against NZ not so long ago and now against India.. What I am looking forward to is how they will fare a third time?
England wanted to avenge the barrage of short ball bowling to Anderson by Bumrah. In hindsight, they found out it has no effect on Shami or Bumrah. In fact, you could see Butler smiling when Wood's ball hit Bumrah's helmet. Plus they never expected India to hit them so hard. Royal Bengal Tiger roared like never while Lions were hiding in Pavilion.
David Gower, great insights and commentary of the great 5 day cricket game at Lords...you command great respect Gower!... just like a great batsman you were!
David Gower elegant left handed stylish English batsmen who was called Golden Boy, Nice to see you Sir on India's analysis which was a match to remember for Ages which was won at Home of Cricket.
Thanks David Gover you have given credit to Indian Team ,Shani - Bumarah batted Sensibly that demoralised English team ,Both along with Mohd Siraj bowled tremendous spell Ful of Fire
Gone are the days when England use to play 3 tests against India in England. Now they play 5 tests just like the ashes series . England generally doesn't play 3 test series against strong sides. This gives them time to make a comeback in the 5 test series. Smart.
Kohli at first seemed to be confided with the declaration but when you win all your decisions are appreciated and everyone praise the psychology behind the decisions
Absolutely entertaining David Gower is. Anderson has been around for 3000 years, Bumrah has an average of two 😀Loved the equanimity with which he shared his views
Mcgrath hit Laxman when he averaged almost nothing and he replied with 2 back to back classic fours out of nowhere . India was already struggling and he was a repeated failure and was on a verge of getting dropped . That hit , brought the man in him to lufe and instead of fitting in . . . He went for his natural stroke play to make 168 , guess were 80-90% runs India managed in that innings . Trick is to play the natural game in Tests .
i think after that bowling blunder, English should have gone with attack bairstov and butller open and then root... it could have created a chance for them
It was mohd shami and bumrah who put pressure on England because of the extra runs they scored and England was forced to play a defensive game and indian bowlers took the opportunity with both hands
Indian cricket team really well played in both two test against England only because of correct team selection and robust and attacking fast bowling. But don't relax but get them out in all remaining tests. Best luck
David Gower, one of the finest left hand batsmen. His comments, like his batting, are smooth, fluent, stylish and with exquisite timing! He must have been appalled at Joe Root's strategy on the 5th day. England played like galli cricketers! BTW, who is the anchor?!?! Why was he trying to put on an English accent on his Punjlish?
David's comments are genuine, fact based and respectful to both teams - so wecome in contrast to the nonsense that other 'experts' put out there.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
There was another gentleman called Brian Charles Lara
But bcoz of his age (60+), Sky Sports didn't renew his contract after the last Ashes but always great to listen to him
You mean non sense like Vaughn?
sad to not see Gower in Sky commentary; ageism and also woke-ism
it is anything but pompous.. England had the better off the conditions (yet again), and still comprehensively lost. It was far more than an hour of poor performance..
David Gower , One of the finest English cricketer ever. Nice to see him after a long time. Bless you.
Thank you so much beta for your appreciation and support ❤ 💙
@@baskit1299 No worries ! Uncle !
Only problem is he's starting to look like Bob Willis.
What a stylish batsman you were. The "golden boy" of English cricket. Happy to see you on the show.
Very well said sir

The great David Gower. What a batsman he was!! Those glorious and smooth cover-drives. The most gracious batsman, along with Martin Crowe, ever to play the game of Cricket.
None better than rohit sharma
@@vinayb5746 W.V.Raman ,although played fewer tests only,I think he was the most elegant LH batsman ,close to the style of Gower
After long time Gower speaking...He is one of the best left hand batsmen with beauty & class.
I loved it when kohli rubbed it in their faces by declaring 1 over after lunch
That was a psychological move to keep their openers guessing and didn't want to give them time to breathe before they start, this move played a big part in their dismissal and both the openers were removed in space of two overs. The Golden Boy of English Cricket
the real q wasn't asked
a test side must not get dismissed in 2 sessions at home on a placid pitch
# love to hear from the legend himself! #wtc #warriors!
Eng lucky not to be 2-0 down by now and must thank rain gods
Silky smooth and lazy - DG you are a legend. You are always in my all-time 11.
i think after that bowling blunder, English should have gone with attack
bairstov and butller open and then root... it could have created a chance for them
I agree.
Jos and Jonny, with Mo and Sam up next ... Then Root and the openers to shut shop if quick wickets fall
Indians genuinely love their cricket. Just look at the comments about Gower here !
I was there for the final day. £20 was a brilliant bargain! A couple of drinks cost more than that.
Rain couldn't save England in 2nd test ,as it saved in 1st test
