Adult Weight: Male 35-45 kg, Female 25-35 kg
Height: Male 60-68 cm, Female 55- 63 cm
Fur needs to be brushed regularly
Life Expectancy: 8-14 years

Very intelligent and full of energy
Rarely aggressive, but a bit shy and reserved
Very gentle and in general a good family dog
Needs to be educated well
Is obedient and loyal to master after education
Loves extensive hikes and is a good climber
Needs to be walked / entertained 2 hours per day
Best lives in a housewith a big fenced garden
Please only buy this dog from a good breeder
Partents need to be checked for hip/elbow dysplasia (by breeder)
Do not leave the dog alone for more then 3 hours

Beautiful images but I really miss the
One thing one MUST know about the BBS : they are VERY sensitive and VERY attached to their family. Not sure about the need for a garden (a garden without the owner is as interesting as a kennel).
However, as the videos suggests 2h of entertainment (walk, play, scent work) is largely enough as an average over the week, and is doable during a working week with kids.
We have an amazing 3 years old BBS and she comes with us absolutely everywhere, probably because we have been doing so since she is a puppy.

Thank you, indeed an wonderful dog breed. We have 2 cats, they were with us before the dog arrived. They have a wonderful relation together. So I would say they arrange well with cats they live with. But they usually don’t like cats they do not know 😃

Geniale Aufnahmen und ein wunderschöner Hund! Wir haben auch eine BBS-Dame. Wie geht Ihr mit den sehr ausgesetzen Passagen um, braucht Euer Hund da Unterstützung?

Vielen Dank für das nette Feedback. Schön, dass ihr auch einen BBS habt, das sind einfach tolle Hunde :-) Die ausgesetzten Passagen sind nie ein Problem. Aragon läuft halt immer genau an den Rand um runterzuschauen, es sieht für mich so aus, als ob er die Aussicht geniesst. Bei sehr steilen Passagen braucht er ab und zu etwas Hilfe (auch zu sehen bei den Videos Zindlenspitz und Ortstock). Wenn die Felsstufen zu hoch oder zu steil sind, muss man nachhelfen bergauf, respektive ihn ermutigen bergab.

@@tophikes Vielen Dank für die Antwort, das war gut zu sehen das sich Aragorn auch leicht helfen lässt und das Geschirr mit Griff gut dazu geeignet ist. Wir waren im Herbst in den Pyrenäen und hatten dann auf kürzeren Kletterpassagen zum Teil hohe Stufen, wo Sie nicht hoch oder runter wollte und ich Sie dann doch irgendwann hochheben musste. Ist aber sicher auch Übung ...
