- *My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. Join me on my adventures.
Thanks for watching!

Thank you for the continuing drama free excellence
Amen to that!
Totally agree about the BLM areas near cities. Crazy to leave portable solar panels out unattended
Sorry for the negative vibes while in Las Cruces Brian. We are not all idiots.
I spent a week in Las Cruces a few years ago and met many wonderful people.
❤wonderful video I love New Mexico...lived in Taos 7 years Carlsbad 5 year's. Definitely the Land of Enchantment 🙏🏽👌🏽❣💯💯
Brian, you never disappoint. I wish safe and wonderful travels for you and yours.
Another great hike Brian. I agree about free camping near large populations, if you want to mess a place up, just add too many people. ☮️
Outstanding visual video thank you for bringing us along
Always informative, chill and wonderful. Thanks B, best 👌 from Queensland Australia 🇦🇺 ❤
Brian, first want to tell you how I enjoy your postings. This one was so extra special that I am not finding adequate words to use to tell you. Thank you so much for recording this hike and allowing this 83 year old to experience it through you ! ! !
The video is absolutely crystal clear
Glad the Airstream didn't disappear along with the solar panels 😕
Love the desert in springtime
Those cactus blooms are awesome, Thanks for sharing.
The other areas to avoid are anything referencing an OHV area or staging area. Not all, but many of the OHV people generally don't give a crap about anything, they leave trash, they will camp right next to you and crank up a generator and not think twice.
(Off-Highway Vehicle) 4-wheelers, side-by-sides etc.
unless of course you like off roading😋
@@AdventureVanMan I carry a dual-sport enduro motorcycle with me and I still avoid those areas like the plague.
I have experienced that here in AZ. Most of them are druggies, not to many brain cells.
Lovely hike. Beautiful scenery. Thanks
Remember when hiking in New Mexico in most of the state you are hiking at least 5000 feet and much higher in the mountains, it can make for some heavy breathing.
Brian, this video brings you to my area. I live in Las Cruces N.M. I really like dripping springs. Welcome to N.M. Safe travels.
Best Mexican ever!!!!....
Cocina Mexicana Express
1275 S Solano Dr, Las Cruces, NM 88001
Very beautiful I was in New Mexico back in 2002relly liked it
There is no substitute for being out in nature far away from major cities and metropolitan areas. Two different worlds. Happy Trails to you.
Always Awesome!
Nice nature pics. Shows beauty of desert - lest I think it’s dry nothingness.
Absolutely gorgeous area! Thanks for bringing us along! ☮️❤️☀️
Thats not the rock making the noise its my Rice krispies dude 😁snap, crackel, pop!
That looks like PRIME Rattlesnake country ........ Watch your step !!
I never get to see as many rattlesnakes as I would like☹️
Thanks for another bike ride and a hike. I am amazed how strong you mic is to pick up the sound of water! Be safe💜☮
Outstanding beauty. Safe travels.
Great sunset shot. Loved the dripping springs and the way you photographed it.
I love the fact that you are not in a hurry and you notice the small things. Thanks Brian.
Cheeseburger in paradise. Great video.
👋😃👍 Thank you, Brian, I always enjoy your vlogs‼️
Always nice when I see a video post from Brian! Easy choice!
I've camped in this area. It snowed while I was there. At night you can see all of Las Cruces lit up like a Christmas tree
I've lived in NM on and off for much of my life, and it is particularly bad regarding trash compared to most other parts of the country I've lived. It's a lot like the real Mexico, and many of the third world countries I've lived. Thanks for the ride along and safe travels heading north. Hope you get to explore the mountains in Northern NM.
The true Nomad: What are all these people doing here? Oh yeah, it's the weekend. Oh Look, trash cans and a water spigot, gotta remember that.
Another great video
Hey buddy! Another awesome video! I would say that black in the cave is built up soot? I’m just leaving AZ. Finally headed a little northerer myself :) maybe I will see you down the road! Safe travels!
Go check out the Catwalk its just outside of Silver City New Mexico.
The Catwalk is absolutely incredible!!
Hi Brian, what a fascinating ride through the surrounding area. That rock shelter was amazing. The wild flowers showed the real beauty of the dessert , not to mention the mountains in the background. Lunch also looked great. See you in the next one, God bless , Louise
If you haven't been there already, Aguirre Springs on the east side of the Organ Mountains is awesome. There are trails leading up from the campground with the peaks towering above. You can stop in there and then continue to White Sands NP for a completely different experience.
Totally agree about the BLM areas near cities. great little hike in the mountains
Thank you.
Couldn't hear the water dripping. Some dill hole is running the lawn mower.
In Tombstone on a mine tour, I walked by a black rock area that was silver in its natural form. Guess I would have never been a mineral explorer! That cave you visited prompted that thought.
So sad and you really have to protect your property and yourselves... even I'm the Land of Enchantment.
Having spent 4 winters at a federal wildlife refuges in NM ... with an active rail track... we were always made aware to watch for transients... back as far as 2015. But it is a beautiful state. Take care.
Thanks for sharing. I often pass through Las Cruces, but it's often just a waypoint for a longer trip from Texas to the West Coast. Next time we're in that area, will make a point to visit that spot. BTW, don't blame you for not wanting to bushwack to the mine shaft. Besides the cactus and stickers, rattlesnakes would probably be getting active during this part of the year.
Great hike
my camp had a thief took chairs cooler small table small bbq in Utah crazy thing was during Elk hunt I had a 357 side arm and my 270 riffle on me as most everybody does during a hunt what the Elk were they thinking?????
Peace
Such a shame people don't respect the countryside. Its a problem the world over. Enjoyed the walk and such a nice area to walk through!!
The Hermit - Seems odd people had to kill a hermit. Why? I'll never understand people and their motivations for such things.
I just left that area. Great hiking and camping. Love the adventures that you go on. Truth be told there are a few of you that I have watched for so long and are the inspiration for my current travels. I just pulled into the Ozarks and am going to be hanging out here for a bit. New Mexico was cool but I totally missed the trees of the Midwest.
Agree with everything you said regarding public lands near cities. Sad that people destroy their lives and even more sad when they include others in their destructive ways.
Next time I'm traveling, I would like to eat at Brian's Bistro, if that is not too much to ask? I can bring the food and share... but I want it cooked and presented like you do it.
Hello Brian , Kelly and Hobbs. Well that sucks that Solar panels were stolen from a neighboring camp site. Personally I would never leave anything out that can be stolen so easily. I honestly would hate to leave any part of my rig behind unattended. More than likely it was not a fellow camper that stole the panels.
Wow the sound of water fr the big rocks was awesome
Fantastic video overall. Really loved the opening sequence with the time lapse. Sorry to hear about the local crime. People are people. What can you do?
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Unfortunately folks don't want to work for things...feel bad for your neighbors....we were camping on Cape cod in our pop up l...and someone had their Honda generator stolen...which sucks 😡 Great video Brian ✌🏿🏕
You were a little light today have to put my BUDDY my best friend down tomorrow with lots of tears through the homestead.
I'm so very sorry for your loss. I totally understand how you feel.
I was just there again a few weeks ago. So glad you're enjoying(ed) it! If you venture into Las Cruces, I'm a big fan of the laidback downtown, especially Grounded (coffee & pizza) and Matteo's (quick Mexican food). I love Las Cruces so much that I'm making it my new home base!
Lovely! Thanks Brian!
I've never seen terrain quite like that and I enjoyed all the colors of spring. 😁👍
Great footage today, Brian! Gorgeous scenery! ❤
Thanks Brian, i never thanked you for the stickers. Away we go, and Fallow your dreams (march2023) love the videos.
That is such a beautiful landscape and very different from what I'm used to. Thanks for sharing.
I just read a book by the title "Modoc." Crazy coincidence! Thanks for another great video!!
New Mexico Bosque del Apache and the Grand Tetons my happy places.
Much appreciated Brian! You'll stay safe and take care! Hobbs needs a snack please!
😂
Awful! That sux...
True vanlifer.."OH wow it's the weekend.." 😂
Some true Breaking Bad going on out in NM! LOL! Do you ever worry about stumbling across mtn lions - hopefully you have pepper spray and/or firearm with you for that "just in case" moment! Cheers!
Beautiful videography. Love the terrain, spring water from the rock, and foliage. That's terrible the travelers had belongings stolen. Shame. Be well. 🙂👍
Thank you sir for sharing. Great looking place. Too bad about the theft.
Thanks Brian, always a pleasure watching your videos.
Another great video. It’s like we were right there in the moment. Keep living life to the fullest. Stay safe.✌🏻😊
Hello Brian. Another great video. Loved the Hermit. Have you heard of Dick Proenneke? If not great stories with books and documentaries about him. Great reminder on being near a city.
I love Dick's Alaska cabin build,
One hell of a story.
(America the Beautiful) pass is FREE for life for USA veterans!
The sound of the seep crack is so soothing. Over a day, can get one by.
Hey Brian! I love you video as always.
I'm guessing you like warm or your videos are delayed a bunch. I've been up over 7000ft for a month. Taos is getting really nice right now.
Beautiful. My mom was from Estancia New Mexico. She grew up on a dairy farm. The soot on the ceiling from a fire. Probably indian inhabitants.
Awesome Brian, thanks 👍👍 Take care of yourself and God bless 🙏✌️
I leave my van unlocked so they will not break the windows to get in. I figure at that point they are committed anyway. So far I have been lucky. Happy travels.
Just watched your video ,glad to see your still living the life,I related to your Tonapah Nevada trip since I was there myself many years ago, carry on
People are pretty brave. I bought a new phone and had it stolen at a DMV while a sheriff was in the parking lot from my motorcycle.
The rock formation is La Cueva.....it has camp tables grills and shade also a super nice Pavillion area for big groups.
Its a beautiful area with lots of hiking and sightseeing.
This was so wonderful to watch after a hectic day. I really enjoyed the hike so much & hearing the waterfall in the rocks. Nature is amazing as proven by the flower growing out of stone. I thi k I heard it screaming "I will not be stopped"😄✌️
That burger and tatertots looked fantastic. Great vid, thanx.
Nice video, but you do know that the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico are the Sangre de Cristos, with their southern terminus at Santa Fe ;-)
Great comment but did you know rocky is an adjective? ;-)
@@AdventureVanMan not when you capitalize both words......
@jtrails1 lol, notice that font is all caps🤭
Go to the other side of the Organs, where the pay campground is and do that loop hike. That's a good one!
I was taught the cacti with the singular tall bloom is a century plant. It only has the tall stalk once in one hundred years, then the plant dies. It does bloom short blooms but the tall stalk only once every hundred years
That is a different variety in the agave family. These are Yucca. I showed some century plants a few videos back in my 'Camp Mornings, Prarie Dogs, and Grilled Food' video, towards the end of the video.
@@AdventureVanMan thanks for letting me know. I was going for look and didn’t know it was different
Hi 🙋🏿♀️
Very cool! I had family that was raised in Las Cruces. I had no idea it was so beautiful. Thanks for the heads up about the theft stuff!
I may have missed it but did you talk about rattlesnake while moseying around as the desert warms up? I used to live in 29 Palms in my early 20's when I thought I was bulletproof, lol.
🐾👣🌮🍺✌️
Hi everyone, happy Trails y'all !
nice flowers. cool rock. (I love rock). thanks
These are the sort of videos I like when you do the m. I feel like I’m right there with you. Thanks. 🥰
Enjoy your videos
Stunning beauty there Brian. Thanks for sharing❤
Vendra, the wind, didn’t take the panels? She took mine, landing them in shreds 3 football fields away. Bluettie 350w- a nice chunk of change, gone!
Another great video that makes me want to drop everything and hit the road! Such an amazing area. Thanks for sharing all your adventures...
👍✌️
