Thank you for showing actual footage of the M4 scrubbing through a fully edited video and showing it performing well while actually on the editing timeline! Most other reviews I've seen either just show how fast it can render the video which I don't mind waiting for anyways or use a benchmark for the editing software that's hard to translate into actual day to day performance. I was considering the M4 Pro but after watching this I don't think I need it and can save a lot of money just going with the base model. Thanks for the help. 👍
Go for the Eizo ColorEdge series 27”. I have been using one for 10 years, the CG277. Built-in calibrator and wide gamut IPS. Can work hours on photos without eye fatigue.
As a photographer: OLED is nice, but not required (print your work). Definitely get an IPS display. Any monitor that advertises color accuracy is good. Personally I like anything from Dell Ultrasharp. I print Super B 13x19 inches at the largest, so I found that a 27” monitor is best for this. I would also try to get as much resolution as possible, to match whatever resolution you’re shooting at. For me, my Nikon DSLRs are 24mega pixel, so anything from UHD to 4K+ is always nice.
@@Royaleoake Every Dell I bought works perfect on my Mac Mini... Yes there expensive in the $600.00+ range. Their Alienware IPS is probably the best value at 240hz. But a Mac Mini is not going to run at 240hz anyways... I run a 27" and 24" They work just fine. And nothing beats Dell warranty... I had a pixel go bad. They had a new one on front door the next day. With a prepaid return label for the old one. As they come with 3 year warranties..

First - I'm glad I stumbled across your channel, David. This video is very informative and very well presented. Second - thank you for this comprehensive review of the Mac Mini M4 for photo and video editing. I bought mine a little over two weeks ago and was trying to decide since then if I should return it and get the M4 Pro version for editing videos. I don't produce videos as often as a regular TH-cam content creator, I use FCP, and I was coming from an M1 MacBook Air. Still, I wondered if I should have opted for more power. I am on a budget, so I opted to stay with the M4 Mac Mini. Like you, I had purchased the SSD upgrade to 512 GB, which I find more than ample for my needs (while 256 GB would have NOT worked with all the apps I have). Bottom line: your honest review has validated my decision to stick with the base model. Thank you! Third - I am subscribed, and I liked this video. I look forward to more of your content! - Ron
Most people - like me - will accept 3 minutes waiting times versus 1min30s. And games are not all AAA: for instance I play Civilization V that still runs smoothly on a 2015 MBP. So it's good to see a video that's talks about "normal" uses, instead of selling higher and higher specs for daily tasks just to gain 1 minute in a Lightroom export.
Yeah absolutely! But to be clear, I personally use a M3 Max MacBook Pro since I'm allergic to waiting and can afford it for my work use. But right now I do a challange and changed my macbook for the Mini to see if it truely can do everything I need it to do, so far it runs great.
I don't typically watch computer reviews but for some reason I watched the whole thing. I'm not even in the market for a Mac Mini! However I did look it up and in my country it's even cheaper than I expected. Very interesting - really does sound like a great deal. Good job for the video.
It gets hot when you constantly write on it. But I use it since 1,5 years and I haven't found anything better overall. I made a Comparison Review over on my German Channel.
Great video. I was wondering about paying a bit more for the M4 Mac Mini Pro just to have more power. What I would really like to know is what make/model of display you are using in the Lightroom section of the video.
@@davision-en Thanks, so much for informing me about the monitor. Do you have any idea how the 10gpus compare to say a NVIDIA 4070 8GB card in a PC. This is my quandry. How do I compare across PCs with graphic cards.
Hmmm… I don’t understand… I have made panoramas with 15…20..+.. files from a 24megapix camera with Lightroom on my 2017 iMac … why it would it not work on a triple-next-generation new mac 7years later today ??
Excellent! I was looking for a photo-oriented review and got from you all the info I needed. I think that for Capture One + Topaz and no video making, M4 non-pro and 24 Gb of RAM will put me on the safe side for years. MfG
Great review! This was the first review I saw with fan noise, temps, and power consumption. That is some amazingly low power consumption. I wish you had a Pro model to test.
Apple Intelligence is available in the EU on the Mac (but not iPhone and iPad), but only if you set the language to US english as that is the only language currently supported.
thanks dear to give these valuable feedbacks, I am a video editor and I generally use after effects and premiere for my workflow. Does after effects run smoothly?
At 19:57 you say apps can't be installed on external SSDs ... but I believe you are incorrect. The Application folder can be moved to an external SSD. You can also install to the internal SSD and then move the applications to an external drive. I don't have my Mini yet (two more days), but I've been researching it a fair bit and found many sources showing how it works. You just need to be sure your SSD stays attached, or the app vanishes too. I went ahead and ordered a 2TB Gen 4x4 SSD with a Thunderbolt 40Gbps enclosure and installing apps to the external drive was my plan from day one. Hopefully everything I've read and watched wasn't wrong about that. From testing I've viewed, the base 256GB read/write runs around 2,500MB/s and may actually be slightly slower than an external SSD running at full speed. But those are still faster than most people are getting from whatever system they are coming from and won't feel the least bit sluggish for non-professional use, where you'd want the M4 Pro/Max/Ultra anyway.
Danke shön! That was a very thorough review, specifically for photography (exactly what I was looking for!). You also answered a specific question - I have the original M1 Mac Mini with 16GB of RAM and 256GB HD. 90% of what I do runs fine, but stitching panos and 360s frequently runs out of memory. You confirmed to me that hasn't changed (I didn't think it would), so when I buy the M4 Mac Mini, I'll get it with extra RAM. Just not sure what the sweet spot is - RAM is particularly expensive on these. I'm subscribed now -- keep it up!
Thanks for this great video. Do you think there is an upside to move to 32Gb RAM of a Mac Mini M4 or would it be better to move to base M4 pro with 24Gb ?
I just used the Internal Speaker first but would go with a USB4 Dock or a DAC if I would do so. Also most Monitors have Headphone out so you don't loose a Port.
The Temperature of the Chip itself doesn't influence it's life time since they are designed for more then 100° for years and silicon doesn't degrade with heat.
Heat is the #1 reason for failures by far. Yes it is true, the chip is fine at 98c, but it's the board and other parts that will degrade or fail over time of high temps. This was a stress test, short period, so 98c is OK, plus Apple certainly designs to get that heat away from other parts, I still prefer lower temps higher fan noise any day. Macs tend to run hot as Apple likes less fan noise, I would use fan control and ramp up the fans, it's still not noisy and yes it can save you from problems. I feel letting the heat go so high is the main reason some Macs end up with board failures. These tiny enclosures and lower fan speeds will lessen the life depending on usage, with M1 MacBooks I saw failures because they ran hot and people would use them on beds or a couch so heat built up instead of dissipating. I don't blame Apple, people want thin, tiny computers and no noise, and I saw failures from heat on all brands.
@@TheFeedRocket I think you got this totally wrong, the CPU Die is at 98° not the Board, the PC itself or anything else. It's the CPUs Die Temp nothing more. And no, CPUs don't degrade from high heat.
@@TheFeedRocket and this #1 reason for failure it complete nonsense, if you can please provide my with some Sources for Fact Checking. I never heard of a System failing because of high CPU Die temps and I'm a IT professional and was working in IT for 15 Years before getting self employed. I even was a professional overclocker back in the day. I never ever heard that a CPU was failing just because of high Die Temps. No, maybe with High Voltages as well, not the case here. You can even run CPUs without a cooler and they will just throttle as hell but not die.
@@davision-en Maybe it's because you are in Germany and the PC's you had there were not cheaply made, because I have no idea how you never heard of a system failing from high CPU temps. Heat is certainly a top reason for component/system failure here. I didn't say anything about CPU failing from heat, I said the CPU is OK at 98c, especially being a stress test. Where does that heat go? if the manufacturer does things right it is removed through vents or even the case itself as a heatsink. But people do dumb things, they place computers in poorly ventilated locations, fans fail, get dirty, people use laptops on beds, carpets etc. Depending on the usage heat is the thing that cause most failures, not the CPU failing, but the board and components on the board fail from sustained high heat which comes from the CPU mostly. PCs board failures I fixed back in the day were over 50% heat related, even some voltage issues came about because of heat degrading a solder joint or other component which in turn caused the voltage issues. Keep using it in those poor situations with the heat build up (from the CPU) can cause board failures especially in poorly ventilated PCs. I don't like heat, heat absolutely degrades components, it's not even debatable, they do tests on systems or electronic parts and heat plays a huge part in finding out the MTBF (mean time between failures), and just 10c can make a huge difference in the life or failure of a component. Again not talking CPU failure, although back in the day heat did degrade CPUs 🤪 I actually encountered it often, but I asked ChatGPT, Is heat the #1 reason for board failures? this is what it said: Yes, heat is often considered the #1 reason for electronic board failures. Excessive heat can cause several issues in electronic components and printed circuit boards (PCBs), including: and it went on to list issues. You know I should have kept a record but lots of poorly built PC's, I mean really that was what I mostly encountered, extremely rare to get a call for Apple, or Dell Optiplex, Dell consumer line yes, but there was a zillion more PC's I guess, some had such poor designs and poor components. I always built my own, still have one running 24/7 for like 10 years, 7 fans, not loud, personally I have had 9 PC's never had a single failure of anything. only 2 Macs, also no issues. I miss the calls, I fixed a lot over the phone, but hated software issues so much, I ended up telling people to buy a Mac, and I slowly lost repeat customers...seriously I ruined my own business.🤣
I do photo work and at times upscale video etc. From what others have said, the M4 Pro can have fans kick in fairly quick and can be audible. How was your experience? I know that the M4 Pro is more than enough power but consider the footprint of the new Mini may be the culprit for heat dispersion challenges. Your thoughts please?
As I said in the Video the Fan doesn't even Spin when the CPU is under 100% Load. Just when GPU and CPU are tacked at 100% is starts to be audible but far from annoying. You can hear it in the Video as well.
Great video! I was surprised by the production quality with such a new channel. The mini has been getting such stellar reviews. A real bargain. With the performance of Apple Silicon, I bet most people will get a good 5 years of use out of the machine. Probably longer. I used to work at a Mac repair shop and people were bringing in their 10-years old iMacs!
Thanks a ton! This English Channel hasn’t got so much love from me as my main German one but since this year I‘m doing a lot more videos in English as well. Thats why the channel is so small.
Is the Mac Mini M4 base worth getting if the RAM and Storage is upgraded to 24GB and 512GB, or is it purely the chip that will hold back its performance? Here in South Africa upgrading those 2 components is still a lot cheaper than the pro modal.
@@Kristof_InsertRandomText for Photography it doesn't hold you back at all since it even outperforms the M3 Max MBP with 64GB RAM. I create 8-10 Videos a month on a professional level and could do this at the Mini as well just with longer export times.
@Davidson what would be equivalent of the base m4 mini on performance ladder compared to desktop pc (not mini)? For all but gaming. I am considering 7950x and 4090 or a base model mini and air. Eventually a Mac Studio m4. But wondering if the pc spec above would clearly be superior for non gaming workloads or if Mac is surprisingly close
In Single Core Performance the best Intel and AMD CPUs come just close to the M4 Performance. A 4090 System will be better in some Video Editing workloads but that also highly depends on what you are doing. Just basic editing of 4K with Grading it will just give you a higher power bill and some shorter Export times.
I don't use either of this tools since they suck. I use Pugetbench to get a Premier Pro Comparison and thats it. I use and highly recommend Resolve and Fusion for such work and as a benefit you will get way less headache from it then from Adobe.
1st time viewer, and after having watched many reviews on the mac mini m4 I have to agree with others on your no nonsense approach, and I love the amount of detail you give, a full picture!... thanks +1 subscriber!... P.S. Do people often tell you that you look quite a lot like Post Malone? lol
How about 3D modeling ??? Does anybody know how is behaving when running Sketchup on it ??? That's the very reason I'm thinking weather to buy one or not . I've looked everywhere for this answer but couldn't find any (so far)

ok so I'm about to buy one and I'm confused. I usually use Chrome with more than 30 tabs open, VDI remote working, and my main work is in Adobe LrC heavely, with 25Mb DNG files for now.. That's all, then ofcourse i listen to music, and most of my tasks are done in Google Workspace. I currently have a iMAC 27" 2022 with 32Gb RAM and 5112 GB of SSD, and it's getting slower every day. What i really want is a fast machine to work with LrC with no lag. Would it be better to have a Mac mini M4 with 24 or maybe 32 MB of RAM and 1TB SSD or a M4 pro with 24 GB or RAM and 1TB? I would appreciate your support on this expensive decision. thansk :)
Good video, thank you. I’m coming from a 2017 MacBook Pro and you’ve convinced me that 16GB is sufficient for my hobby photography needs. I keep all my photos on external SSDs but I’ll probably go for the 512GB storage just to make life easier in future with ever larger software. All I need now is to decide on a monitor. The Studio Display is so tempting but so expensive.
Suggest me i am editor and colorist in davicni resolve. I am also using after effects. Is this machine is good for my editing task? 16 gb ram or 24 gb ram with 256 ssd. Please tell me sir 🙏
I literally just did this. Returned the 512GB one, got the Base Model 16/256 just to have it. Right now doing a little challange to see if I could truely and fully life with it in my daily workflow.
This is a great review! Could you tell us more about the SSD drive that you mention....is it an 'over-the-counter' device or did you have to construct it?
It's a SSD Enclosure where you can put a M.2 SSD Inside. It doesn't need any tools and there aren't any out of the box that are this fast and that cheap. It's the ZIKEDRIVE USB4 Enclosure.
Like I said I can do everything that I do daily with just this 16GB of RAM but who knows whats there to come? I think it depends on how long you plan to keep this PC.
I would highly recommend 24 or 32, if you multitask IE run say Photoshop, Final Cut, multiple browser windows / tabs...etc. I run into a wall with 16GB, I crash at least every other day now on my M1 16gb iMac. I might have multiple browser windows with multiple tabs open while editing or using photoshop, Apple Music, multiple finder windows, maybe a few web apps as well. Also I hear Apple Intelligence eats up gigs too. So yeah if you're organized and only use a few apps at once you will good. If you like opening lots of apps, tabs in finder, photos, listen to music etc. Go for 24 or 32. I'm going for 32 at minimum on my new system or more thinking about generative AI, but I multi task or just lazy and leave stuff open.😄
Nice effort. But most of us who have photo needs would buy at least the M4Pro with 48 GB RAM and 14 core config. Why are all these tests against the M4max with thge base models that no one who is into photo or video would actually buy?
Why should you? I regularly use a M3 Max and now M4 Max MBP but I just used the M4 Mac Mini for the last 3 Weeks and it can do EVERYTHING I usually do on my much more expensive Notebook with 4x the RAM and GPU.
@@davision-en Sadly this Combination is not available in INDIA, 16+256 / 512 or 24+512 variant Edit - I just Check... it's possible & I Order one for myself :) Thanks for the review
@@davision-enI am thorned between the M4 and M4 Pro model as well. If budget would be no issue would you recommend the Mac Mini M4 Pro over the base M4 model for Thunderbolt 5, higher memory bandwidth and more CPU/GPU power?
@@FilipCools If the Budget is there I would go with a M4 Pro, as I said I can do everything I do on the M4 Base but I also use a MBP 16" with M3 Max for now and M4 Max soon. You don't need to but you never know when you need it.
Would you recommend me getting the base m4 Mac mini if my only purpose to use it is to edit 4K videos in FCP and doing color grading? And running off external ssds? I don’t think that m4 pro will be necessary and i am trying to avoid paying more for ssd upgrade
I have no experience with Final Cut, but I dropped 4K 60 from my R5 II HEVC 4:2:2 into FCP 11 this days and I went just fine as long as you are just cutting and grading. Everything that is GPU Effects will make is much slower. But for Basic Editing and Grading this is just fine.
New sub here. Great channel. Would you be so kind as to answer a few questions. I mostly use Final Cut Pro & Photoshop to create videos on my Billy Luna Crime Stories YT channel. I am working in 1080p, but plan to start working in 4k. Currently I am Using a Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD (2TB & 4TB) to edit off whilst using FCP. 1) For my needs, which exact configuration of the new M4 Mac Mini should I get? (Pro or no, RAM, SSD) 2) Can I get maximum speed via Thunderbolt 4 or 5 using a Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD? 3) Is there any speed or performance advantage in going with a 1 TB SSD vs 512? 4) I’m now leaning toward an M4 PRO MAC MINI 512 SSD & 64 GB - Is this overkill for running Final Cut Pro, Photoshop and 30 web browser tabs open at the same time? 5) Do I need to worry about fan noise when I’m recording on camera video or voice over? I would really like to save $ by not going with the pricey Apple storage & sticking with the externals. Thank you!
You used a lot of outdated benchmarks that aren’t optimized for Apple silicon or some even deprecated like OpenCL GPU test in Geekbench. Cinebench r23 is an Intel benchmark that needs to be translated through Rosseta 2. Why not use Cinebench 2024, which is optimized for Apple silicon?
No! Just do a little bit of research and find out what I’m talking about. 1. OpenCL is a deprecated API Apple abandoned long ago when they switch to Metal. It still works in macOS, but it’s no longer being improved or updated. Metal is Apple’s officially supported API that all the major and modern apps use. 2. Cinebench r23(not Cinebench 2024) uses Intel binary to run its benchmark. It’s therefore translated through Rosseta 2 on Apple silicon systems. This is known by industry experts who know how the benchmark works. Cinebench 2024 is the natively supported Apple silicon version. Just read their release note on their website when they announced the new benchmark where they stated that this one is optimized for Apple silicon.
@@wisdomyaw03 wow, how can someone be so confident in his bullshit? First of all, I'm not a developer, I'm a user and I can use OpenCL and OpenGL on MacOS even if Apple says Metal is the Way to go, but how should I compare a Mac against a Windows Mini with Metal? It's not possible. On Cinebench you are completely wrong. In fact CB r23 was one of the first native Apple Silicon Apps cack in 2020. You can google that yourself. Just try "cinebench r23 apple silicon".
The problem is that I’m not photographer nor video maker and even I don’t know persons who is. So apple is lacking software to be used with and the only use is for videos and graphics?
The base model of the Mac Mini feels like a bait-and-switch. Apple lures you in with an attractive price, but the reality is that the 256GB SSD isn't practical for most users. Unless your needs are limited to email and basic web browsing, you'll quickly hit storage limits, especially if you have an iPhone full of photos. Expanding storage externally means dealing with slower USB drives, and upgrading directly through Apple is exorbitant. For example, upgrading to just 512GB of storage (still barely enough for many) and adding 8GB of RAM costs nearly **double** the price of the base model. Charging $200 for adding 8GB of RAM is outrageous and typical of Apple. Even if you rely on iCloud to offset storage limitations, you're still locked into a costly monthly subscription (starting around $25/month), further inflating the total cost over time. In the end, the base price is just the tip of the iceberg-most users will pay far more than they initially intended. Not to mention you are putting all your data into someone else's hands and trusting them 100% not to lose it and to decide at any moment you violated some agreement and locking you out of your data. So either way you are paying way more than you intended and getting less than you expected for the price.
You can move you home folder to an external SSD and install and run Applications from external drives. The 16GB RAM are fine and the SSD will be upgradeable in the future hopefully.
I have multiple Apple devices - Apple watch (3), phone, iPad (2), TV, and a Macbook Pro, however, IMO the $600 base Mac Mini 4 does not deserve the hype. It only has 256GB of storage which is what you would find in a 2005 computer. You can easily buy a MiniPC from multiple manufacturers with a comparable Ryzen 9 8945HS CPU, 1TB of storage and 32GB of memory for $650. Many MiniPC's support Occulink, have a display port, a 2.5GB LAN, plus a few USB 3.2 ports.
As I‘ve shown in this Video the Mac Mini is way faster in anything then the fastest Windows Mini PCs. I let the fastest Intel and AMD Mini PCs in the Charts (Zen5 and 14th Gen) and the M4 plays with them. It’s years ahead. And if you say the 256Gb is the problem you can easily add a SSD to the 3 USB4 Ports. There is nothing with better value than this one.
Apple marketing genius, "lets introduce the problem, move the start button to a place that gives people something to complain about", waits 3 years then reverses it... apple fan boys go mad and upgrade.
And that doesn't make it true? As far as I know you never got a better PC for 700€ or 600$. And the last model had to less memory in the base config to make all of this work fine.
Can you define a filmmaker for me please? Is it a director, editor, cinemathographer, vfx artist or something else. This term is so broad that can be really misleading. Editing is technically the least hardware demanding job in all postproduction. So OK. What about colorists? You can hardly even begin to color grade a feature film on mac mini. A VFX artist doing heavy compositing with hundreds of cgi render passes? Don’t even think about it. Oh, silly me, by the term filmmaker you mean just youtubers editing their videos. OK.
A filmmaker is referring to someone that makes videi by himself from start to finish. idea, Shoot, Sound, Edit, Grade. Content Creators are also often referred to as Filmmakers but there are a lot of one man show Filmmakers I know that don’t call themselves Director, DP, Colorist or whatever since they do it all. And no, coloring is not a hardware demanding thing. It’s basically a joke for your hardware to apply grading. color Grading is not a problem for the Mini at all. VFC is something totally different. But if you are using VFX you know that you need Most power possible and I don’t talk about VFX here or do I?
@@davision-en Coloring is a joke for hardware? Seriously? I think you have never been involved in a professional process of color grading. Applying effect or two for YT video is not color grading. And filmmaker is a person involved in film making. And filmmaking is pretty well defined. Google it up.
You may are surprised to know that native English comes from Europe... How is it possible that People still talk about how a obviously non native speaker has troubles with some words?
Very straight forward, and instructive. I don't care about exporting times, but what bugs me with my current M1 Mac mini is the lag I have in Lightroom CC when using masks and brushes. It makes me mad, and I have a much better experience when using my M1 pro MacBook pro. So do you confirm that I don't need to go to the much more expensive M4 pro Mac mini to get a lag free Lightroom CC experience! thanks for the answer.
The power button placement is simple. Every time you power cycle the device, you have to physically pick it up and touch it. This is psychological and a form of pathological priming.

what’s your recommendation for stitching panoramic images will 24gb ram be enough?
I guess but I don't know. On Windows Minis I never tried with lower then 32GB since thats the amount most Windows Mini PCs come with.

MfG

Hello! Would you mind telling me what monitor you use please?
Great video, made me really think about upgrading to this thing!
Awesome video , Your skill are amazing , You should upload some tutorials 101 for new photographers and editors
why is everyone recommend an additional 2tb drive? if i buy 4tb will the system detect it or is there a size limit?
No but 2TB is the Sweet-Spot for Price to Size at the Moment. If you want 4 or 8TB go for it.
@davision-en thank you man! this is my first mac, size 4tb for me is good choice but price is verse uncomfortable.. ;) thanks!!
Great review! This was the first review I saw with fan noise, temps, and power consumption. That is some amazingly low power consumption. I wish you had a Pro model to test.

What is the little display you have plugged into the Mac mini? That think is perfect for my needs
Thats an Innocn 15" OLED Full HD Display. Pretty handy thing even for gaming.
Apple Intelligence is available in the EU on the Mac (but not iPhone and iPad), but only if you set the language to US english as that is the only language currently supported.
Yes I know but only in english as you say.
thanks dear to give these valuable feedbacks, I am a video editor and I generally use after effects and premiere for my workflow. Does after effects run smoothly?
After Effects would be way to much for this Machine. You should at least go with a M4 pro.
Applications Folder can’t be moved to SSD and they can be installed just if the App is bigger then one GB.
My guess the that the 24 would help a lot but to be safe I would go with 32GB the rest is sufficient for the next time when you have a external SSD
Thanks for this great video. Do you think there is an upside to move to 32Gb RAM of a Mac Mini M4 or would it be better to move to base M4 pro with 24Gb ?
24GB should be fine for the next two years.
great and fair review. Just need to source a display - did external sound run of the USB C?
I just used the Internal Speaker first but would go with a USB4 Dock or a DAC if I would do so.
Also most Monitors have Headphone out so you don't loose a Port.
Nice video!!!! Which monitor do you think will be the best match for this Mac Mini?

when do you guys turn off your Mac? very very rarely if anything its a restart
Yes of course but I mostly use my Power Button to lock my mac.
98c! I wonder how long these components will last at such high temperatures? That is way too hot!
Again not talking CPU failure, although back in the day heat did degrade CPUs 🤪
I actually encountered it often, but I asked ChatGPT, Is heat the #1 reason for board failures? this is what it said:
Yes, heat is often considered the #1 reason for electronic board failures.
Needed to hear that! THANKS :D

Is the Mac Mini M4 base worth getting if the RAM and Storage is upgraded to 24GB and 512GB, or is it purely the chip that will hold back its performance?
Here in South Africa upgrading those 2 components is still a lot cheaper than the pro modal.
At some point the GPU would be holding you back yes. But it highly depends on what you plan on doing with it.

Is 16gb base ram enough? Or 24 or even 32 minimum for any real work?
Like I said I can do everything that I do daily with just this 16GB of RAM but who knows whats there to come? I think it depends on how long you plan to keep this PC.
@davision-en do you recommend the 10gb internet upgrade or you think that is over kill?
@ 32gb almost double the price 🙂. But I think it is most likely worth it.
Awesome & Thanks Sir :)

Yes the M4 Pro has a higher Power Budget so it runs hotter and needs more cooling.

(Pro or no, RAM, SSD)
2) Can I get maximum speed via Thunderbolt 4 or 5 using a Sandisk Extreme Pro SSD?

Thats both not true. Apple Supports OpenCL as well nothing translated there and Cinebench r23 is also a Native Apple Silicon App. 🤷🏽♂️

Does it run MacOS?
As I‘ve shown in this Video the Mac Mini is way faster in anything then the fastest Windows Mini PCs. I let the fastest Intel and AMD Mini PCs in the Charts (Zen5 and 14th Gen) and the M4 plays with them. It’s years ahead. And if you say the 256Gb is the problem you can easily add a SSD to the 3 USB4 Ports. There is nothing with better value than this one.
Seriously, Ryzen 8945Hs? That SOC is for kids compared to M4 what a joke
This is absolutely one of the best Mac Mini M4 reviews here on TH-cam. Thank you so much!
Wtf? Do you even know what you’re saying? Lol. That pc you mention sucks ass compare to the M4.
Apple marketing genius, "lets introduce the problem, move the start button to a place that gives people something to complain about", waits 3 years then reverses it... apple fan boys go mad and upgrade.
its all old story this is said every time new model
The power button placement is simple. Every time you power cycle the device, you have to physically pick it up and touch it. This is psychological and a form of pathological priming.
Maybe next time the power button got switched for a gentle stroke over the Apple logo so the Mini feels your love.
