I’ve watched a couple of these, and I’m shocked how much Phil kinda of choked. Last 3 of 4 bogey on back nine on Sunday. Last one I watched, 3 straight bogeys on back nine Sunday. Shocked
Phil played super arrogant at this time and always tried hero shots, he once said “I’m never gonna change how I play even if I never win a major”, but in 2004 after he had kids he finally decided to dial it back and he won the Masters and became the player he could have been in the late 90s. Still this reckless confidence would return once he started winning majors regularly, and it lead to his choke at the 2006 US Open where he was gunning for 3 majors in a row.
While I appreciate the PGA Tour posting these videos, the editing is extremely poor. The third round, for example, ends at an arbitrary and premature place leaving the viewer wondering what happened to the last 10.5 holes of Tiger's third round. You can do better than that.
