I'm sure someone else will explain the full plot, but the reason Gahyeon looked so happy even with a gun pointed at her is because Jiu was her sister and she trusted that she'd never do anything to hurt her, that's why Jiu looked the most broken in that scene, cause she was struggling to bring herself to do it and separate herself from her sister, knowing that might be the last time she got to see her.
Is that detail in the game, or in a bts/making Note? Thanks.
This song is an OST for the mobile game, Girl Cafe Gun. The song was the opening theme song in the game for a while. Each member in the MV is based on a character in the game. Siyeon's character is based on Eksistere, who in the game, has odd eyes and always carries a stuffed animal similar to the one Siyeon is holding in the mv. It's completely coincidental that the scene is similar to hers in the actual Odd Eye MV...or it could be foreshadowing lol. However, this song's lore is not part of the Dystopia Trilogy.
Side note: There is actually a video on the DC official youtube channel of Handong reacting to this MV while she was in China and it really is the cutest thing. There is also one of her reacting to Boca.
There isn't a single Dreamcatcher MV where they don't bring absolute looks. They are the most visually pleasing group I have ever seen in my life

FACTS
I kid you not, the first time I watched this MV, I got so emotional that I cried at the end! Jiu's acting in this is seriously amazing! There's this really sad shot that wasn't used in the video (you can see it in the behind the scenes on their Dreamcatcher Note series) where Jiu was actually tearing up! 😭 In terms of lore, there's definitely a lot of familiar comparisons that can be made (you guys pointed out Siyeon's scene reflecting Odd Eye, which funnily enough came out after this! lol) My personal favorite is Jiu and Yoohyeon's scene, which makes me think back to Deja Vu. 😆 However, this is actually a collab with a mobile game called Girl Cafe Gun, so it's meant to be more of a stand alone story like Deja Vu was! It's super interesting to look through all the MVs and seeing familiar symbols getting reused in new contexts, even when they have completely different storylines!
This is the first Dreamcatcher song I ever listened to and it's still one of my favorites.
One of Siyeon's scenes from Odd Eye is similar to her tv room here (in Odd Eye she has the Blonde bob cut and the Orange fuzzy coat. She also has awesome makeup with one Blue eye, just like here). There were tv's in that room and she had a remote. That scene from Odd Eye is actually a callback to this mv scene because this one came first.
And yes, this is Scream-era so Han Dong was stuck in China. One way to know it was Scream-era is JiU's AWESOME and AMAZING Purple hair, which I LOVED on her but she did not keep it for long. Her hair was really badly damaged.
A cool detail that I saw from another comment on the MV for this, which made me love this MV 10x more. Each of the girls that are trapped, represent one of the five stages of grief.
Denial: Yoohyeon is sitting in a classroom trying to pretend nothing is happening, even though everything around her is a mess. She also seems confused when she sees Jiu, because she is convinced nothing is wrong.
Anger: Sua just embodies anger. This one is very self explanatory
Bargaining: Dami is sitting on a pile of gold, and tries to bargain her way out of being shot.
Depression: Siyeon is sitting in a room full of screens, trying everything she can to forget about everything around her. If I'm not mistaken, she doesn't even look at Jiu once.
Acceptance: Gahyeon welcomes Jiu with a smile, and accepts her fate. I'm sure others will have pointed out her role as Jiu's sister in this MV as well, based on the game lore, which makes this choice even better.
Oh I LOVE this. I never picked up on that but it makes sense.

I have lots of theories of my own about this MV but one thing I would like to point out is how Sua is the only one who seems riled up and resisted JiU pointing her gun at her as if she knew what JiU was trying to do (save the 5 of them but not have an extra bullet to save herself).
This vid! This was the video/song that made me a Dreamcatcher fan, instantly. When it came out, I decided to check it out because I'd been hearing their name a lot. The story and JiU's acting sucked me in. I started sobbing on my second watch-through when she reaches out for the members and they disappear. It's still a 50-50 (side note: check out new group Fifty:Fifty!) chance that I'll cry when watching this. I then checked out more of their stuff and within a day had multiple copies of "Dystopia: The Tree of Language" on order. I think that is still the record for the fastest I've stanned a group. They've been in my top 3 ever since. And JiU has been my unquestioned bias from the start, all because of this video.
The scene where Jiu tries to shoot herself, take a closer look at her eyes. The acting is literally OSCARS LEVEL
Props to you for understanding the plot! A lot of YT channel reacting to the MV had a hard time to understand it, and to be frank I had to watch the MV twice to fully get it. She indeed saved them all and sacrificed herself :'(

This song and MV were a standalone collab with a mobile RPG called Girl Cafe Gun, it's the theme song for the game's OST. It's why the thing sounds so anime, games like that always have very anime-style theme songs.
R.o.S.E. Blue really is an interesting video, and you nailed the theme immediately.

I loved the concept. Dreamcatcher is so under rated. They are so good.
I literally straight up cried after first watching it
Lore behind this, (as best as I could figure by playing the game myself, but also thanks to the Girl Cafe Gun wiki):
The girls are all agents that work and fight to stop the outbreak of this purple plasma thing called Ionus, and when it converges, it can become a crystal, which can be used as a source of energy and weaponry that the girls can use to combat the infection that the same Ionus causes (basically purple zombies), and Shi Wuxia, Jiu's character, is highly against using this sort of equipment, she doesn't trust it, even though it is safe, so she goes chasing after the girls, probably fearing an infection given the use of Ionus-based equipment, she's essentially putting her principles over her friendship with them, including Shi Wuyou (Gahyeon's character) which is Wuxia's sister, this is why she smiles so kindly to her, as they love each other and are very close, Wuxia is the older one and protects Wuyou a lot. Still, Wuxia feels betrayal from her friends, and gets rid of them, but realizing her mistake, Wuxia uses the power of the crystal to give life back to the girls.
I cry in this MV every single time since I know this because I know how much Wuxia hates Ionus, as she proves in the MV, but the friendship is just as pure as Jiu, who would totally give her life for her members, as Wuxia does in the MV.
Girl Cafe Gun is an okay game, honestly, but what Dreamcatcher did with the few bits of lore that are in the game is absolutely insane, and this is by far the best thing related to the game, I love it so much and I can only pray for more game collabs in the future. (If any Girl Cafe Gun veterans find any mistakes in this, I'd appreciate your comment on it, thanks for reading!)

About odd eye Siyeon: I believe it's more about her portraying a character from the game (GIrl Cafe Gun) who has odd eye rather than a connection with Odd eye. Especially because this MV came out in 2020 July while Odd eye way in 2021 January.

This is one of the three mvs that were made while Handong was in China (Besides Scream and Boca). There is a Dreamcatcher's Note of Handong reacting to Rose Blue when it first came out on the Dreamcatcher official website.

Also, you're both right about similarities between this mv and Odd eye/Scream.
There is a lot of theories behind the MV meaning.
But basically, the girls are trapped in endless nightmares because of the purple crystal we see in the video ( same crystal we see in Scream, and Maison).
All the girls have different nightmares and fear.
My personal opinion on each members fear is :
- Sua : fear of losing her freedom or control of her life, because she is trapped in chains.
- Dami : fear of losing everything material she possess and thus getting poor. As she is standing on gold etc...
- Siyeon : fear of media critics and haters (not sure, but could explain all the screens and TV around her).
- Yoohyeon : Fear of failure (not sure as well, but she is in a class room that look chaotic, so might be related to knowledge).
- Gahyeon : Fear of world end, like we can see its connected to Maison MV.
- Jiu : fear of losing her members and ending up alone.
The only one awake is Jiu, which is why she is the one saving the girls.
As you said, she enters the girls nightmares and need to kills them there to wake them up.
As she only have 5 bullets, she sacrifice herself to save them and get trapped in the crystal instead (nightmare) like we see at the end.
The saddest part of this, is that the beginning of the MV are actual memories from Jiu of her and the girls (before getting trapped). It connects with the end when we realize she is trapped in the nightmare (crystal).
The MV was released during the time Handong was in China because of Covid.
So the meaning behind the MV and the girls fears (especially of Jiu losing the members) hits harder when you know this.... 🤧😢

This is a collab with girl gun cafe game. Basically JiU has to go into the crystal and save the other members from their Dream worlds. But because there are 5 bullets, she has to save 4 members and herself thus leaving one behind; or use all to save the others but sacrifice herself. Because this was done during Sceam Era we don’t have Handong. Handong did do her own reactions to ROSE Blue and Boca when she was in China. Dami’s rap slaps.

Obviously, Dreamcatcher doesn't really do happy endings in their MVs. I think that plushie Siyeon is clinging to might be a reference to 2ne1. It looks a lot like tam tam (different size and color, though).
PS: Dami's dreamworld is overflowing with piles of gold coins because she's a rapper. And rappers gotta get the money, I guess. Or maybe she's secretly a dragon?
