Here's the thing, Gisele can easily do the subtle, barely there makeup look because she is what you call a Soft Autumn in the 12 Seasons/Color Analysis. Too much contrast would dull her earthy, softly tawny complexion.
The woman next her would easily be a True Winter. Her complexion can handle way more contrast and dramatic makeup.

something you could do is putting some cream/lotion before the makeup, it's the same.
