The BEST thing about Salem's Lot is Reggie Nalder as the vampire. HE also had a pretty creepy and frightening role as the witch hunter in a flick called Mark Of the Devil.
I'm from Western Pennsylvania, very near where Night of the Living Dead was made and took place. One of the stars was Chilly Billy cardille, who hosted his own horror show " Chiller Theater" in Pittsburgh.
Yes yes yes. I feel vindicated. At college I had the chance to show a horror movie to the class and I chose Carnival of Souls. At the end I asked who liked it and only one girl raised her hand.
I love that movie for the same reasons I love "Night of the Living Dead." It's non-Hollywood people making films that are somehow more genuine and scary than anything coming out of Hollywood, especially these days.
Well, usually people are in a trance for about 20 Minutes. My mind was blown when I first saw it, at a NOTLD Midnight Double Feature Show. Which, reminds me, it played in the cinema next to Rocky Horror. This was he early 80s.
Oh, man, I'd forgotten about "The Haunting of Hill House !" (the original one). There's This one scene at night where 2 women are in a room, and there;s this LOUD banging on the door. It's endless! I remember seeing the heavy door to the room actually bend inward. As a kid I rarelygot terrified, or creeped out by movies..but I was by this! The original "The Thing" also messed me up so badly that to this day I CANNOT eat Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee ravioli, which was what we had for dinner right after I saw the movie. Havent seen Salem's Lot...but hey, think I'll see if it's on Amazon video Thanks, Alice!

Mine? #5 Last house on the Left. I just told my cousin yesterday that I only fear serial killers. Ghosts.. goblins... don't scare me which brings us to #4.. Halloween... if you watch it and are not scared... you're brain dead. #3 Night of the Living Dead.. this film gives me nightmares. #2 The Ring... my second wife after we watched the movie and I turned our bedroom light off hissed "seven days." If that isn't grounds for divorce ..I don't know what is... #1 Jaws it IS the scariest movie of all time. I didn't take a bath for two months after watching it. Gordon
Yep, Salem’s Lot, very good movie. Best creepy vampire you will ever see. Suspira, very eerie, but hard to follow. Evil Dead is corny with no real kind of plot to follow.
ALL THAT TALK ABUT DEMONS NOT REALIZING THEY'RE ARE USING HIM OBVIOUSLY HE'S NEVER SEEN ONE OR HE WOULDN'T PROMOTE SCARY MOVIES? HE SAYS HE,'S A CHRISTIAN THE QUESTION IS BUT DOES GOD KNOW HIM?
Baby, just stop! I think God clearly doesn’t know you if you’re running your sticky fingers all over the internet with that judgmental junk. Knock it off. You’re embarrassing.
Funny, I have the EXACT OPPOSITE opinion. Salem's Lot I've always found to be a bland American made for television movie, while Suspira to be an eerrie and genuinely nightmarish Euro horror masterpiece.
Gotta agree with "Suspiria!" Saw it in the theatre around 1977 in QUAD sound! Freaky!
Not only an awesome artist, but also has great taste in cinema!
That's why he's use theatheric images for some shock value

Alice Cooper rocks meet him 3 times in person and 2010 concert with Rob Zombie both rock and his love for horror movies and his movie monster dog
Check out John Carpenter’s “Prince of Darkness.” Alice is great in that too.
Love the coop!🤘

Man such an under rated film.
That’s when you propose, Garrett
Your class probably didn’t like it because they were too scared or they thought it was too boring or both
I heard Stephen King also liked The Evil Dead, when he's the one who wrote Salem's Lot.
great list!Especially Salem's lot,and Suspiria are both also in my top 5 and Carnival of souls!
the evil dead is a masterpiece
Alice Cooper's Top 5 list of Horror movies is great.
I'm going to watch these all!
I have 4 out of 5 movies Alice Cooper loves
I agree with all of Alice Cooper's picks. Of course he was in "Prince of Darkness", a quite fabulous moviw
Don't forget he was in Freddy dead

2. Night Of The Living Dead
3. Halloween 🎃 (1rst one)
4. Dracula (Bela Lugosi)
5. Friday The 13th (parts 1-2-3)
Agree! "Made for TV 'Salem's Lot'" IS verrrrry creepy.
One of the best vampire movies of all time.
my favourite horror movie: ALICE COOPER LIVE
carnival of souls was made in Utah at a local landmark called Saltair, on the shores of the Great Salt Lake.
I love that movie for the same reasons I love "Night of the Living Dead." It's non-Hollywood people making films that are somehow more genuine and scary than anything coming out of Hollywood, especially these days.
I’m a horror fan and I enjoy the classics
Exorcist, The Shining, Evil Dead, Night of the Living Dead and yes...Suspiria.
All very solid choices.
0:12 yes!!! :D
Now I want to rewatch all of those.
Omgg! I love his eyes!
I saw The Haunting when it aired on TV scared the crap outta me. Salem's Lot also very good

SUSPIRIA. Top 5 horror movie . End of story

see Salem's Lot, but not the 2-hr version, see the mini-series version.
+tulliguy - Thanks!
3 hour Salem's Lot is more fun to watch
The 1963 movie is just called "The Haunting"
Never saw Salem's Lot, but I tried reading through it. Didn't really do much for me personally.
the Salem's Lot movie he's talking about, is that the 1 from the 70s or the 90s?
the 70s one, 1979
Cooper Minion 70s
He mentioned James Mason in it. James Mason died in 1984, so I doubt he was talking about the 90's version
The BEST thing about Salem's Lot is Reggie Nalder as the vampire. HE also had a pretty creepy and frightening role as the witch hunter in a flick called Mark Of the Devil.
Creepy Skulldini the boy coming up to the window and scratching on it always freaked me out. Plus the the main vampire is scary.
Before I even hit play I just knew to my core that he would rank “Carnival of Souls” up there. Saw that as a kid in and haven’t been the same since
Just watched Suspiria because of him
Wow! I thought I was the only one who thought Carnival of Souls was one of the scariest movies ever.
I'll pick that list and watch the movies.
Wow, I have all those movies in my movie shelf. :D
Suspiria :D
Monster dog was CLASSIC! !
Incredibly good, tasteful list
Might hafta check out Carnival of Souls. Sounds interesting.
Definitely a low budget achievement. Shot in Kansas and Utah.
My top 5 horror movies:
1: John Carpenter’s The Thing
2: Halloween (1978)
3: Alien
4: A Nightmare on Elm Street
5: IT (1990)
*Yawn*
@@KRhetor Sure the list has no real revelations but you can't deny they all deserve to be there.
Britney Spears movie.crossroads was scary as hell
I was going to go with Mariah Carey in "Glitter" or possibly "The Sound of Music."
fun fact: there was a movie from 1986 called Crossroads about Blues music and it was awesome.
You realy CANT beat Evil Dead
Lucio Fulci Zombie 2 i think he did
A very nice guy. Yeah.

what?! "Monster Dog" isnt on the list!? what a shame
hi alice
Evil Dead! Evil Dead! Awesome Movie...
I bet Alice would like Let’s Scare Jessica to Death. It’s creepy in the same mold as his top 5.
Mine? #5 Last house on the Left. I just told my cousin yesterday that I only fear serial killers. Ghosts.. goblins... don't scare me which brings us to #4.. Hey Alice, have a look at Australian movie, “Wolf Creek “ 1 and 2 it will scare you shitless.
I wish Alice Cooper was my dad... Or cool uncle.
I thought he would have come up with Night Of The Living Dead.
His other favorite scary movie is the evil dead 🧟♂️🗡
But Lucio Fulci?
No Prince of Darkness? ;)
xD that would have been a funny pick for him
Yep, Salem’s Lot, very good movie. Best creepy vampire you will ever see. Suspira, very eerie, but hard to follow. Evil Dead is corny with no real kind of plot to follow.
He had to spoil carnival of souls. Why?
the evil dead was a funny movie! hahaha It was funny when all the people died
First! Lol jk i'm not a dick
EVIL DEAD!!!!!
ALL THAT TALK ABUT DEMONS NOT REALIZING THEY'RE ARE USING HIM OBVIOUSLY HE'S NEVER SEEN ONE OR HE WOULDN'T PROMOTE SCARY MOVIES? HE SAYS HE,'S A CHRISTIAN THE QUESTION IS BUT DOES GOD KNOW HIM?

Salem's Lot is an amazing film, but Suspiria bored me to tears.
tulllguy it's not for everyone. Some parts are awesome. The Italians have a different rhythm to there horror.
I was so excited to watch after I saw the trailer, but I kept waiting to be creeped out, it never came.
It's a EUROPEAN film. Maybe THAT kind ain't for YOU? Maybe your more into the Hollywood kind or something?
Funny, I have the EXACT OPPOSITE opinion. Salem's Lot I've always found to be a bland American made for television movie, while Suspira to be an eerrie and genuinely nightmarish Euro horror masterpiece.
I like both! :-)
