Never thought you would do this video because of the amount of defunct coasters. You surprised me.
@@pyscha yeah thats one reason it took me a while to tackle it
Here’s hoping Ka sticks around, I’d hate to see it go 🙏
HE UPLOADED GUYS HOLYYYYY (what is that bum looking tiger statue at the start also 😭)

Really enjoyed the list. As a kid in the mid 90s, Great American Scream Machine was my first big coaster. I don't remember a lot about my first ride aside from my mom being in pain from the head banging. For the most part I just remember seeing the inversions and feeling like it was just towering over the rest of the park at all times. At the time it really felt intimidating.
I was just there yesterday, amazing timing, excited to see this.
Wow. He's been to this park six times while I've yet to go there. I should fix that by going there next summer.
Toro was closed the first and only time I’ve been to GA this June. Just means I’ll have to get back a second time, long live Ka
going to USA for the first time in my life next week and going to visit SFGA, so you got me very hyped!! Cant wait 🤩
Yo. Chiller at #4 damn straight! It was pretty awesome. But I have nothing but fun memories of Viper - not the shaky hunk of crap it seems to be remembered for. My first visit to Great Adventure (pre El Toro & Kingda Ka): 1. Nitro 2. Chiller 3. Batman… 4. Viper 5. Old Man Thunder
This is and has been my home park since i was a kid.... And i gotta say - this video makes it abundantly clear i have no concept of time. 😂😂😂 Coasters i 'remember' being around much longer then they actually were. Great look back at some awesome coasters.
Yea, time just keeps passing us by. Some of this feels like it happened yesterday
0:37 that’s a young enthusiast right there
Screem machine was my favorite roller coaster when it opened and so rolling thunder
The documentary of this park was so good! I watched it on a road trip to Knott’s
Ain’t no way this man ranked green lantern above Superman 😂
@@mattpatti390 yes way
Kingda Ka to me is #1. I hope it stays for a long time and continues to get the love and care it needs
Kingda Ka and Nitro are in the top slots for me…. They’re both amazing in their own ways
Another wonderful walk down memory lane, so thanks for that. I'm going to disagree with some of your placements, based on personal experience: the Scream Machine is too low for my taste, and both Shockwave and Chiller are way too high. Chiller was really unbearable with the original OTSRs, and it was still pretty rough without them. I don't miss it.
I rode Eltoro 8 times Saturday. Pretty smooth to me, I prefer the back seat and it has a touch of jankyness, sit on a non wheel seat and it's smoother but I think the slight jankyness adds character. My #2 coaster behind Steve.
Crazy timing considering I was just there last weekend and just starting to watch your vids again!
If there's one thing I strongly disagree with it's the placement of The Chiller. I went on it only once when I was a kid, and it was my introduction to the idea that roller coasters could be rough and painful. It holds a special place in my heart for being the first coaster to ever hurt me and leave me in pain when it was over. I'd rank it second to last, with only Viper being worse.
Back in the early 2000's, my friends and I went to Great Adventure. We went and rode the Great American Scream Machine, and my buddy next to me had their seatbelt and shoulder restraints disengage, I had to hold on with everything I had not to have him fly off the ride. Horrifying... Otherwise, mostly loved having this as my home theme park.
I don't ever remember Scream Machine having a seatbelt 🤷
It had the shoulder and a clip that was supposed to hold it if I remember correctly. Haven't been there in 20+ years
8:52 Warning about Runaway Mine Train: be careful riding this at night if you’re not very familiar with the layout. Over a week ago I bruised my left ribs during an abrupt transition when my torso slammed into the side of the train (I believe it occurred when entering the midcourse break run). I hadn’t ridden this in years so I’d forgotten how janky it can be, and I wasn’t prepared for the transitions in the dark. It’s a fun coaster and has historical significance to Great Adventure, but my aching ribs and I are not currently fans. 😬
Park should have more than 13-14 coasters. Place services most populated area in the nation.
So does Hershey Park and Dorney Park and Knoebels, and Hershey Park is now its equal, unlike 20-30 years ago when I was growing up just south of Baltimore, which you're probably not even counting with the Philadelphia and NYC areas. However, when six flags rebranded Wild World/Adventure World into Six Flags America in the late 90s that thrust the Baltimore DC metro area into the Six Flags Great Adventure market because of the chain wide Six Flags passes, and because great adventure destroys six flags america.
the ranking of joker, dark knight, and great american scream machine were CHOICES lmao
I rode kingda ka over 50 times last year. That launch is way too addicting
It’s like being launched into space on the back of a rocket.
Rode Ultra Twister when it was there. The visuals when riding it are stuck in my memory to this day. Ride the one in Japan if ever you get the chance.
@@LancoasterPA yep i plan on riding at least 1 next summer
Viper turned into El Toro, which is a top tier replacement. You should do a ranking of best replacement coasters.
Viper sure was something lol
Batman and Robin WERE awesome (Even If I only did the Red side)
And I am a weirdo. I acknowledge that El Toro is crazier, but riding the Nitro all day is one of my favorite things to do and therefore my favorite ride in the park.
@@xtlm nitro is super rerideable
I think that Green Lantern pulls good forces. Not the most comfortable, but I actually like the ride.
I’m waiting for the end of year tier list can’t wait to see how all of your new credit stack up against the old ones. Hope you’re 325 gains a little bit of ground or I 305 definitely I305.
Viper to El Toro has got to be one of the biggest coaster on the land wise of all time. There might be bigger improvements but given its replacing a Togo and El Toro I am struggling.
Well Chris, I have to hand it to you. You rode Rolling Thunder and you gave it an honest review. In 2008, it had been neglected all too long and it was riding as a shadow of its former self. If you were able to ride it in the rain, at night or racing, it would be in your top 10 where it belongs. It is one of the 5 signature coasters of this park’s history, along with GASM, Nitro, El Toro and Kingda Ka or The Runaway Train (depending on the generation of the guest.) No local over the age of 15 is reminiscing about SFGAdv without mentioning Rolling Thunder. It was the star of the show for 10 years and was a mainstay for another 25 years
Sarajevo Bobsled and Shockwave needed to be a little higher as they were enjoyable coasters. I saw Superman following Rolling Thunder and I didn’t see Green Lantern so I stopped watching. I agree that Sarajevo and RMT are fun coasters! Green Lantern and some of the B&Ms, meh.
The fact little devil coaster isn’t one is a crime
Buy or sell: Knoebels gets an RMC Raptor for an addition for their 100th anniversary in 2026
If you haven't yet, watch Airtime's documentary on this park. It's stellar
Personal ranking (among those I've actually ridden):
(1) Nitro
(2) El Toro (top two in this order as Nitro holds higher nostalgia value for me)
(3) Medusa
(4) KK
(5) GASM
(6) Ultra Twister
(7) Rolling Thunder (but these days, Phoenix at Knoebels has spoiled me)
(8) Runaway Mine Train
(9) Viper (I liked this more than most, and I don't care for some that come after at all)
(10) Sarajevo Bobsled (I miss this one, but Flying Turns at Knoebels more than makes up for that)
(11) Lightning Loops (really hated the long walk up those stairs)
(12+13) The two 'wild mouse' coasters
(14) Superman (just not a fan of this type of ride)
(15) GL (even less so)
(16) Harley Quinn coaster
(17) Chiller (just didn't do it for me at all, but waiting so long certainly affected my opinion)
(18) Shockwave (my least favorite)
At some point, I hope to get on Jersey Devil and (if it ever opens) Flash VV no desire to try the Joker coaster, which reminds me of a Zipper on a track.
This is a more legitimate list. No way GL belongs in the top 15, but RT and GASM are at home there 😉
was waiting for this
El Toro is a no-brainer number 1. It redeemed itself for me and held on to its number 10 spot.
honestly, if green lantern was less of a ballbuster, i'd probably enjoy it
Do a documentary on Six Flags over Georgia
Viper really wasn’t that bad besides the fact it was barely ever open.
Some say the pothole led to some fixes, I'd put it about the same position as Green Lantern and Superman as lower tier B&M's. Would I say it's the park signature coaster? Yes (besides, Ka will loose its records anyway so a remodel would make it relevant and possibly get that title back, especially if Toro continues to deteriorate). Does it run like it? Hell no
El Toro's not deteriorating, lol. btw. google "save KINGDA KA" to sign the free petition
12:28 you caught a bird swooping by real close for like two frames! i thought it was a subliminal insert of someone who doesn't like green lantern or something and had to go back and look
I seem to remember Viper causing my sister’s ears to bleed because of her earrings banging against the head rest.
It wasn’t good..
Can you do kennywood please? They have a lot of defunct coasters
Man. I stuck on the Chiller twice. That coaster was a nightmare. Rolling Thunder and Toro is mine. But I can’t fit on Toro anymore so that’s out.
Yea, I loved Toro in my 20’s but in my 40’s even though i fit, it’s brutal! The restraints on that coaster are the most uncomfortable in the park. Sad because it’s an amazing ride
Great american scream machine looked like a genuinely good ride
It was. Right up to the end it was a kickass coaster. Long ride and lots of elements
I think the way you said “Big Fury” activated my iPhone’s Siri.

WOOHOO WE GOT ANOTHER PAST PRESENT AND FUTURE
Great Adventure is my home park and I’ve been going since I was born in 1993. For me personally, Viper was the worst coaster I’ve been on in the history of Great Adventure. My shoulders were black and blue after I got off of it. Hated it
Spot on 👍👏
I think you did GASM alil dirty. It got a reputation for being rough but prime Scream Machine was phenomenal. I cant wrap my brain around how Green Lantern is that much higher.
It's hard to rank defunct coasters, because do you rank them in their prime or how they last ran?
Green Lantern is 18 places too high.
Agreed. It’s one of my all-time least favorites.
Amen
I wanted to go on Viper since it always looked so cool when I was younger. But when I was finally tall enough, it was never operating.
I'm so happy it's my hone park
With the merger and the rumors about rides, a whole video about this parks future might be in order?
@@alex33952 idk about a whole video but i had a long segment in my last buy or sell talking about it
Thoughts on what is replacing scorpion at bgt
Don’t know if this is a hot take or not but Joker > Superman joker is out of control while super man has no forces besides on the pretzel loop
Went to this park once, in 2005, during Ka’s opening week. Got one ride at the beginning of the day, and then it broke down the rest of the day. Thought the best ride in the park was easily Batman and Robin.
Do you remeber the original queue? If so, could you tell me about it.
Nitro front row is floater heaven
I liked Viper and would put it as high as 14 after moving Superman down below Dark Knight.
I think the painful viper was so much better than el toro, i think this because el toro has amazing airtime but that can’t compare to vipers painful ride experience 😅
YAY
Do this for sfne pls🙏😬
Green Lantern was sooo painful, it would be dead last if it was my countdown
8:49 Cedar Point Police department in top right? 🤔
i feel like ive seen a bunch of parks have built coasters and never opened them in the past - why?
Man, Viper HURT!
Nitro makes me happy. It's the anti NY Jets
TORO IS KING 👑
Viper was ok. Better than where it was placed.
Okay, we get it. You hate top thrill 2, even though you won't admit it.
Palese do thas for kings dominion
yes i would love to see this for kings dominion
Give me Ka over nitro every day of the week.
I would and have driven to GA just to ride Kingda Ka, I would never do that for nitro. Honestly I skip nitro most of my trips these days, it’s really just not my kind of ride
16:24 😏
wait you moved to oklahoma????? thats an awful city for a coaster enthusiast why torture yourself blawg😭😭😭😭
Is it though? Because I live in the middle of the country it makes roadtrips in any direction easy
@@AirtimeThrills oh snap thats a good point ngl
