I turned off the suggestion strip right from the start 'cause I don't ever use suggestion, thinking that by turning it off, the keyboard will take less screen space. Turns out the voice to text button is embedded into to strip.
But WHY TF DOES GOOGLE DO THAT??? It's unbelievably stupid! 🤬
Yes all instructions online explain how to correct this issue only with the old version of android 11. No help at all. Since there was a program update you would think these sites would update their info as well.
Thank you!! This is the only thing that worked for me. Earlier today, I had modified my settings to not allow corrections. That messed up everything.

The thing that made the microphone icon disappear (thus making voice to text a missing option on the Google Voice app) was not sharing the voice info with Google. I'm running Google Voice on Android 13. This was my fix after looking everywhere so hopefully by sharing this different fix it helps others.
I suspect they want the information about people's voices for analyitical purposes, and they're not going to let you use their otherwise awesome Google Voice app if they don't get that benefit from us using it..

EDIT: Brother's phone was set up the way you said...he had to approve (within those settings) an app that would work offline. It worked immediately...like it was already there. Following your instructions here is what led to that too, though. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks again.

Thank you for the solution. But you will have to tell your users to download GBoard first. I don't know if it comes with the phone or not. I don't even know why I had to install it in the first place. Do you know why we had this issue? Was there some google upgrade that required this? Again thank you for your help

Thanks for the video, this is what I needed. For whatever reason that strip disappeared a few days ago. I believe it was after a recent update. I know I certainly didn't go in somewhere to change it. Bit frustrating. Thank you for providing the answer. What a silly thing to disappear and have to figure out SMH

For some reason Google voice to text is spelling the word seven instead of 7, For when I enter bulk addresses using voice to text into road matrix software, any fixes?

This does not solve my problem. Google Voice I use for speech to text and it works everywhere except two places. I just discovered while uploading a short to TH-cam and then trying to click on the title using my mic It shows that the mic comes on but it does not type what you're saying. That's one instance and the other instance is whenever someone calls me and I'm talking to them and I minimize the phone and try to type something anywhere the mic does not work. I can't figure this out if anyone knows anything please send me a message.
It is the voice to text everywhere, it does not work, for example, I can say that is the problem, but the Google Voice keyboard will put something else down, it will say fat or dance is the problem, not what I said in American English because it works, because a US English, because because the US English works in England for voice to text, but not in American, because America got England, England English voice to text. If this is all screwed up, I am sorry, but this is the voice to text problem....

I set the keyboard to Gboard and turned on voice typing and the microphone is still not showing.
Andres Cen bro, Make sure you have given access of microphone to Gboard, it can fix the issue.😊
My speaker is working on my phone, but not when voice typing only. It works in all other forms.

My Android Voice Typing will not initialize unless I am online, either data or WiFi. None of the online help mentioned this.

I tried to use it in Discord and it pops up for like a second and then goes away is there a way to fix this

@@Fix.369 I use the Google voice text you talk into the mic and it texts it that's what I try to use and it pops up not even a millisecond and it goes away regardless if I touch it or anything you're talking about the voice recorder
The Google Voice keyboard only works in American English in a Britain, not America, and that needs to be fixed, because the queen English is dead. In America, we speak American, we say has the car is running not as the car is running...
Now Google Voice keyboard, you will put down what I say, how I say it, the problem is that is because the Google Voice, keyboard and every voice to text anything doesn't work right because everybody gets every else's languish is not our country's language......
abrahammanders8851 Bro, That can be an issue. You can enable personalized results for voice typing
* Go to "Settings" > "Google" > "Search, Assistant & Voice" > "Voice."
* Turn on the toggle switch next to "Get personal results with Voice Match."
* Follow the prompts to set up Voice Match if you haven't already.☺️

@@Fix.369 I found out what the issue was there's two types of voice type there's Google and Samsung the Samsung is garbage and the Google is good so I switched to Google and I'm doing so much better it was either using the Samsung keyboard or the Google keyboard and I switch to Google it's working better much better thank you

WRONG. You go to Settings>General Management>Keyboard List and Default>Keyboard Button on Navigation Bar. (Turn on toggle). No one on youtube gets this right!
