and no matter how many times you listen to any of their songs , it will still hits you atleast for me it does, even after over a hundred listens of their discography
Vessel just reaches in and touches your soul. His voice just melts and feels like a warm hug. I don’t know what kind of pixie dust they put in their music but it becomes an addiction.
I already liked this song, but after hearing it live, it’s become one of my favorite Sleep Token songs. The emotion in his voice and the piano is unmatched. So glad you enjoyed this one!
Lyrics are wrong on the visualizer. 3rd verse is "Merry in the morning, earn your bitter fodder, its easier to try not to eat". Makes so much more sense!
Went to see Sleep Token Radio City Music Hall and the fans collectively passed our blue stickers to put over our flashlights, so when Atlantic played, everyone held up their phones to turn the whole room blue like the ocean
This song actually connects with “Are You Really Okay”. “AYRO” is written from vessel’s mom’s POV. Basically he is singing to his younger self from the time he attempted to take his life. It is an apology letter to his mom in a way. This song Atlantic is about his recovery, first verse is on his way to the hospital, second verse is him waking up on the hospital room with the feeling of being judged but also seeing them happy he is okay. Then he states “they know it’s a pain they don’t understand” and try to talk him through the damage. This is my take on the two songs!!
Holy shit - this comment just made be bawl... I've had su****al thoughts in my live (I'm better now) and this song made me emotional many times before - but I never came to that interpretation of this song in my head. Wow... I love this band...
I think you hit the nail on the head man. I think part of what makes Vessel so special is that he sounds like he cares about the listener so much while singing the lyrics. And even though his voice isn't what you'd call conventionally powerful, it's able to connect to a deep part of you. And my goodness is he a wizard on the piano.
It’s incredible. It has extreme depth and blends with their talent. Vessel’s contribution to the song is out front, but those drums were played with so much emotion too. I mean, it’s a masterpiece.
I vote for piano. Mainly cause I'm a piano player myself, and it lends itself to so many other instruments naturally. Atlantic is consistantly in my top 5 Sleep Token songs. It just hits deep. If you're into the more sad songs by ST, check out "The Way That You Were". If not, then you really need to look at "Hypnosis"
It definitely hits different hearing it live I seen them at the met in Philly and I definitely should have brought tissues it was so beautiful and emotional ❤
This has to be one of the best and deepest ST songs ever. Once you start to pick apart the metaphors with context it’ll truly crush you. What a way to open an album too! Digging the new ‘do boo ✂️
This is probably the most epic album opener I’ve ever heard…what a way to start an album! Beautiful, impactful, and heartbreaking! It’s absolutely incredible live…best part, there’s a team called Projekt Atlantic, where we have leads and members (I was a lead for the Tampa show) and we buy tons of little blue lights and blue stickers (to place over your phone flashlight) and we pass them out to as many people as we can before the show starts! Once this song starts, we all light up the crowd blue…it’s one of the most heart warming and beautiful experiences I’ve ever witnessed 🥹 Also, I think piano is a little easier to start with and I feel like once you can play and understand piano and the notes, chords, etc., it makes it easier to learn other instruments…just my opinion! I took lessons starting at 9 and I’m so glad I did…from there I picked up a few other instruments over the years. Been getting back into it and wanting to pick up guitar as well!
You think just hearing it is powerful? Be in a room with 1000's holding up their phones with blue covers on their phone lights...1000's of points of blue light... swaying as Vessel sings his heart out on this song...and you can hear him actually CRYING as he's singing it. I was at the Philly ritual in May...and you couldn't NOT cry with him as he sang this. #Worship
love reacting to these songs with you! have heard of the band and listen to them but only the ones that i have downloaded, so listening to these other songs with you and seeing your reaction makes it so much better thanks for the content!
This song is somehow better live, I definitely cried a bit. A very emotional experience 😅😢🥺 "Merry in the morning, earn your bitter fodder, it's easier to try not to eat" are the proper lyrics! I've been waiting for you to get to this one, it's heartbreaking and devastating but so beautiful. ✨️🫶🏻 worship.
Yo!!! This song I just started listening to it because this is the song I introduced my wife to, Sleep Token, and she fell in love with the song. Just an extremely well-built song
Love it! This is my favorite album from them! What a fantastic opening track! It only gets more and more depressing as you go deeper in the album, but in a very cathartic way.
Up to this day, this is the only Sleep Token Song that catched my instantly. Don't get me wrong, I adore ST but all of their songs did grow on me over time. For some unknown reason, I feel attached to Atlantic, like I have some Connection to it. Even thou I never experienced something so painful like this song delivers Edit: and not to forget that insanely outstanding drumming of ii. Boy oh boy the drumming
I started playing drums at 6, switched to guitar at 15, now at 34 I'm trying to learn piano and honestly that's where I wish I had started because it really teaches you a lot of the fundamentals that I struggled with trying to learn guitar. Either way, I wish you luck on your journey! Edit: guitar is WAY faster to pick up though, piano is much more impressive in my opinion. 😅
I can imagine it live. I heard it live a few months ago, and it is epic. Vessel was crying during it, and you could feel every sob like a dagger in your heart. The lyrics (to me) tell the story of someone waking up from a failed self-deletion attempt. Vessel has deep scars on his arm that are visible at live performances so this song is likely very personal for him.
So many people theorize the scars are from an accident. But they m aren’t. They were definitely self inflicted. And what makes it sadder. Is on the left outer forearm where the scars are. There’s major arteries. Considering the fact they’re raised. I’d say those were the ones from his attempt
@@5447princess Yes. The scars are too symmetrical and strategically placed to be an accident. With how pronounced the scar tissue is, those cuts were deep.
As a guitar player I honestly wish I had learned piano beforehand. Learning piano will teach you so much about music theory and how it works that picking up any stringed instrument will be a breeze (in the sense that most of the difficulty will just come from learning proper guitar technique, rather than learning things like what scales are, how chords are constructed, etc.)
I love that you didn’t block the music video with your trademark, if you have to trademark it please make it more see through it covers to much of the video
I play piano. Guitar is def an easier instrument to learn but I love both. Whatever ur heart calls u to is the best answer. Love all ST songs! And ur reaction. 🥰 (also pretty certain this song is about a failed suicide attempt. So so sad!!😢 But ooh so beautifully sang!)
"Yes I got a fresh cut I'm glad you guys aks me that" haha I love this guy. 😂 Learn piano bro. I play guitar and I wish I could play piano, when work slows down it's high up on my list of to do's.
i’m not sure if you picked up on this through the song, but there’s lots of speculation that this song is about an attempt to unalive himself (based on lyrics and scars visible on vessel’s arm) this song moves me so deeply every time - you can FEEL the emotion in the music. i feel like not only his vocals, but also the instrumentation
the heavenly music aside , i think you should learn keyboard instead of guitar, because it has so many applications that can actually lead you to also learn the guitar. with a midi keyboard u can learn music theory, how to implant melodies and rhythm and most importantly, connect it to a DAW (digital audio workstation). then you can literally make music with only the keyboard by loading a sample and using the keyboard to make melodies. now this sample can be anything, from the sound of birds chirping to electric guitar and drums and ...
guitar.,.go with ESP first....but understand guitar is god...the drummer is better. We keep us all together" follow me bossman ...i am....we" keep the timing for us bro. Metro nome it...we are the drummer" we keep the time. Worship"
Don: "Why does this sound so serious and sad?"
Me: "Because it is, in fact, extremely serious and sad" 😬😅
So it makes sense lol 😅
This song kills me, especially knowing this is about a failed unalive attempt 😢
Once you hear Sleep Token, nothing else hits the same
i really feel this and i try to tell ppl and i think they think im crazy sleep token just sits right with the soul!! :}
and no matter how many times you listen to any of their songs , it will still hits you
atleast for me it does, even after over a hundred listens of their discography
I get so wrapped up in the lyrics, I often forget about the god-tier drumming in this song.
DUUUUDE, I bawled my fucking eyes out hearing this live!!! 😩😩😩
Vessel bleeds emotion. I see people tear up and be totally surprised it happened. He hits you in the soul.
Saw them at red rocks and I can relate. It was an emotional experience.
Lyrics are wrong on the visualizer. 3rd verse is "Merry in the morning, earn your bitter fodder, its easier to try not to eat". Makes so much more sense!
Was looking for this❤
Yup. Its easier to just not eat then to put a smile on and go to work. The man has a way with words ❤
Went to see Sleep Token Radio City Music Hall and the fans collectively passed our blue stickers to put over our flashlights, so when Atlantic played, everyone held up their phones to turn the whole room blue like the ocean
I was at this show too..such a collective moment for everyone including the band. Made me cry
Saw them at Red Rocks in Colorado. Can confirm this song hits different in person.
Atlantic is one of my top three Sleep Token songs. So powerful and sad.
Years later and the "plunge" into the ocean gets me chills every time
Every. Time.
I feel like I say this every time....but one of my favorite Sleep Token songs.
This song actually connects with “Are You Really Okay”. “AYRO” is written from vessel’s mom’s POV. Basically he is singing to his younger self from the time he attempted to take his life. It is an apology letter to his mom in a way.

This is my take on the two songs!!
I also like how it AYRO also links to Dark Signs to give you an understanding on the perspective change
Holy shit - this comment just made be bawl...
I've had su****al thoughts in my live (I'm better now) and this song made me emotional many times before - but I never came to that interpretation of this song in my head.
Wow... I love this band...
i always pictured AYRO from the perspective of sleep watching him from his subconscious and this song was her talking to him.
I think you hit the nail on the head man. I think part of what makes Vessel so special is that he sounds like he cares about the listener so much while singing the lyrics. And even though his voice isn't what you'd call conventionally powerful, it's able to connect to a deep part of you. And my goodness is he a wizard on the piano.
vessel kills it on the piano live 🤝🏻
It’s incredible. It has extreme depth and blends with their talent. Vessel’s contribution to the song is out front, but those drums were played with so much emotion too. I mean, it’s a masterpiece.
Hearing this live is incredible & everyone shining the Projekt Atlantic lights gives it even more
One of my favorite Sleep Token songs. I like when the drums come in on this one.
I vote for piano. Mainly cause I'm a piano player myself, and it lends itself to so many other instruments naturally.

Seeing and hearing this song live is absolutely life changing!!!!
Incubus really does great at painting you a picture too. I adore fantastic story tellers and Vessel delivers every time
It definitely hits different hearing it live I seen them at the met in Philly and I definitely should have brought tissues it was so beautiful and emotional ❤
Love Atlantic!!!!
agree one hundred percent
Literally bawled my eyes out seeing this performed
This is the song that started my almost year long obsession with Sleep Token at the end of last year. Obviously it is special to me.
Yessir!!!!!
I cried all my tears when I listened to it live
5:16 that change really gives me a feeling of absolute doom. It hits hard.

If you can play piano, you can play anything is what I've always been told.
It was amazing and so moving live!!

Coming soon!
@@DonVon Thanks man. Btw, I think you’ll love Polyphia. Not heavy just lots of skill and beats.
Great reaction!!! As for which instrument to learn I’d do both.
Vessels signature is just like putting a blanket and sleep dust over everything.
You are my best reaction boy around for me Don!
Enjoy the travel of undiscovered feelings

@2:45 I hate that most lyric videos get this wrong. But the lyric is “earn your bitter fodder” not “father”. It was obvious when I saw this song live.
Learning meys would be a way more versatile instrument to learn and master.

Guitar’s probably easier to pick up than piano, but I’m a guitarist so maybe I’m biased 😂
its actually "bitter fodder" not father
Watch the new boywithuke live performance PLEASEEE ❤❤😂
REACT TO HIGH WATER PLEASEEEE
your first guitar should be an ESP" only one guys opinion
I don’t know if anyone has already said this or not, but this song is about Vessel’s failed suicide attempt
You def missed the significance of the verse where he wakes up surrounded. Makes the song hit a little different
Lyrics in the video are off a few times.
It’s..
‘ merry in the morning, earn your bitter fodder’

Uhhh...did he get a fresh cut?
👀🥵yes, yes I did
Piano, once you learn that you can have a basic understanding of any other instrument
Agreed. Once you learn piano you can learn to play anything.
This song about a failed suicidee attemp
My boi got double forehead hairline. Lmao. Still though nice reaction. You’re a good one. But yeah the fade you had in this didn’t really work
You should learn guitar, I feel it suits you more
