I've used these methos and honed them to perfection on my twink priest in random dungeons. All that matters is boss dps, you need to save cd's and shadow orbs for them etc, pull agro from tank & melee, so they can't hit the boss, stack dots on the boss when he casts an immunity that ignores dots..
On my last private WoW server people's internet connections always sucked if we wiped a boss twice on a non-progression and/or less than stellar composed raid. Mysteriously however during the best of the best progression raids, these same peoples' internet conections were ROCK SOLID! Pretty amazing how dynamic internet connection stability is in WoW. Also I noticed depending on certain item drops, there would sometimes be different net stabilities

Perhaps this doesn't apply to the version of WoW you guys are playing, I stopped at WOTLK, but always remember: NEVER use an ability that will increase the DPS of other players in your raid unless it is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO MAXIMIZE YOUR PERSONAL DPS. Don't let those thieves take what's rightfully yours! And remember, you can always "accidentally" put Hand of Protection on your biggest competitor. You were trying to cast Hand of Salvation on them
Pre-potting is where you use a potion (i.e tolvirs agi potion) just before you go into combat, so that when you actually are in combat your potion isn't on CD...So you effectively get 2 pots in one fight :D.

Lol I've totally tried to feign internet disconnection once when I fucked up trying to inflate my DPS, trying to wait a bit longer before doing the mechanic. My raid leader happened to know my general area so he looked up the local internet outage report and he called my bullshit. Embarrassing to say the least.

I think you ommited one important thing (some classes though) - you use Bloodlust/Heroism when it's suitable for you, preferably when you have some kind of really big CDs/damage buff :)

Pull the internet cable was my #1 tactic for avoiding losses for StarCraft 1 back in the day... After several years, having a higher DC count then a Win count seemed a tad suspicious but in the days of Dial Up, this really wasn't uncommon

Holy shit this is hilarious.

Don't forget that you should NEVER move during boss fights if you're a caster. Moving is a dps loss.
