We did this a about 6 or 7 years ago too ,such a great song. YOU nailed it.. iv seen Strawbs 12 times ( yup) ,both acoustic AND electric bands,so i guess yoh can say im a HUGE fan
Although DC at times has a voice that sounds like heavy grit sandpaper being poked by a knitting needle, I readily accept his influence on my vocal style.
Pretty clever Geoff.Well done Sir! You have nailed the intro played on the dulcimer. I don’t suppose you could put up a tab to the chords you used for us lesser mortals to follow? It sounds very modal. Thanks
I don't do tabs, generally playing by ear. In response to your request, I've looked back at the video and believe that, as a fellow guitar player, if you watch it, it should be easy to discern the chords to the introduction and also the verse, The chorus is less easy to see so here are the chorus chords, G F#m G Bm A F#m D G G F#m G Bm A F#m D G Hope that helps.
Thanks Geoff. I do have the chords for the verse and chorus. I can see your fingering on the intro. So I can probably figure it out. I will be trying to mimic it on an Irish Bouzouki which is tuned GDAD so like DAD on most dulcimers. Thanks again Rob

Good to hear from another Strawbs fan. FYI, here are 18 other Strawbs tracks I've covered. th-cam.com/video/f43V--eq41E/w-d-xo.html
Great choice, great job!!!
Thank you
Beautiful Strawbs song, well done!
Thank you Otis
Was about to embark on this on mandolin - very inspiring!
Thank you. Good to know that there are others who appreciate this song as much as I do
Excellent stuff! And your voice is very Cousin-ish. Inspiring, I've wanted to do this but you have given me a boot in the arse!

Excellent
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it
The guitar tone at the beginning makes me think of mid-80s David Gilmour playing along with the Strawbs (which would be epic). Good job.
Thank you. I do see what you mean. On the original, Dave Cousins played an electric dulcimer, so that was the type of sound I was reaching for.
