An elusive animated feature composed of colorized Mutt & Jeff cartoons, not seen since its last screening in 1991, and a "holy grail" I hunted for up to at least one or two years.
This is both fascinating and a little trippy. Seems like a perfect thing for audiences in 1973.
This is a old cartoon converted into a 70s film, but with a ghost character thats main
Wow. Thank you so much for this! I thought it was one of those urban legends discussed between me and a group of animation aficionados!
Thanks for uploading this, I've been wanting to see it for a while! "Betty Boop for President" was another example of this phenomenon of colorizing old cartoons and mashing them together to make a 'movie'. I'm not sure which of the two is stranger!
At least Betty Boop for President tries to have a decent story and some interesting songs written just for it.
ive watched hurray for betty boop once. i had a headache by the end of it. ive watched this multiple times. im sorry to say the entertainment value in the betty film is far less!
@@ShermleyCollege Oh I'm sure. Both were trying to tap into the zeitgeist of the time.
Been searching for this for 20 years. Thanks!
what a bizarre movie
Wow. Just... Wow.
Mutt sounds like Don Adams (I know it's not him).
Thank you.
4:24 to four thirty gave me a real Sam and Max vibe.
so is this like an official abridged dub
@Sansic Certainly an expensive one given it was taken from cartoons that were redrawn in color overseas and some new live action footage was also shot for it too, alongside the voice recordings.
mutt in this feature sounds like #inspectorgadget.
@@ZakWolf 😉
0:14 what is the song title and who is it sung by?
Sounds kinda like Anita Darian singing this song. Idk about the song title
Funny! Very funny!😊
The completely random and anachronic obsession with putting anti-Russian propaganda everywhere was very charming.
And since Russia never learns, it just keeps repeating.
Is this a old school fandub?
Poor Jeff
Where did you find the full movie?
i've seen the short version of this film which plays out as a regular cartoon and not a feature like this video.
th-cam.com/video/mumM-FutMn0/w-d-xo.html shortened version
Some of the parts were spliced on it, just like the opening titles.
2:45 #earlhammond #bugoff.
I thought it said "Karl".
