www.How2Wrench.com broke the mold of the delivery of tech training. We offer professional tech training over the phone. Your shop, your schedule. If you have Apple products, we can even provide guided assistance over Facetime. (I suggest asking a friend to borrow theirs now!)
Imagine this… you’re in your shop wrenching away and you get stuck. You just hit a wall and no matter how hard you try, you can’t find a next step. You reach for the phone and hit speed dial. The number saved in your favorites is your personal coach at How2wrench! No sitting through hours of TH-cam videos, websites or giving up!
You can schedule time with a veteran technician to walk you through what you’re wrenching on. You can email info, photos and details directly to trainer. It’s the next closest thing to us sitting right next to you.
This service is intended to fill the gap in many areas of need. Let me list a few:
The DIY person needing help with a specific skill
A tech just needing an advanced lesson or next step in their knowledge base
Someone who would give anything to drop everything and move to a tech school but life just didn’t deal those cards. They understand the learning curve may take longer but are relentless in their desire to learn.
Observant parents lacking the skill sets to teach their kids mechanics but see them craving to use tools and their hands.

Nice video. I have a whole drawer in one of my toolboxes for thread repair and various easy out tools for seized fasteners. It is certainly helpful to have various options to cope with different situations.

If you have damaged ‘start’ threads and you have several nuts of the right size then you can try this. Cut a nut in half. Put engine valve lapping paste on the the treads leading up to the damage. Assemble the two halves of the nut on the good thread and clamp together with an adjustable wrench or vice grips. Begin to undo the nut in stages, easing it backwards and forwards letting the paste to do its work cutting and cleaning the threads. When the nut is able to spin free, clean the paste off and you are good to go.

Hey Shane. How well does it work on female threads. Have a burr on a Virago xv750 oil drain??

Shane Rocks! We want to shout out to Shane for giving us an opportunity to be test through his rigorous crash course and make it on his channel. He's loyal to you guys and wouldn't show it until it was proven. To answer your question, female is just as EZ as male threads. In fact, a user can restore the entire male or female thread with the tool. The versatility of the tool allows for thread finessing or complete thread reconstruction (make good judgement). We are a 3rd generation machine shop and invented (by my father) the tool to keep from chucking in a lathe. This is all we use for thread repair now. We've thrown out the thread files and the like. Lets us know if you have any more questions! Thanks Shane and the Gang! Thank you HalTech for the question! Get' it Done!
      Team EZ Thread

This tool only useful if the threads are still there and not completely stripped/galled. A normal needle file will do the same job as this tool.

Hello there. Maybe you didn't watch the entire video. Actually it works amazing on when someone completely trashes the first couple of thread from cross-threading and never got to the "threads that count" as in when the torque fastening actually happens. Another benefit we found was the nice steep starting angle (as compared to a file or the cost of having many file sizes). We found it really useful in a few cases since and it saved the day.

@@How2Wrench It looks like a good tool, and yes I watched your entire video ;) However a needle file will do the exact thing as this tool (this tool does make the job faster, of course). As a mechanic (10 years into the trade), I currently have a customer with a stripped aluminum oil cooler external threads. They are completely gone (smooth) and there is no saving them with this rotary tool or any other method other than welding on a new bung. .

A thread file would be far superior and easier to use.

    • @How2Wrench
      @How2Wrench  5 ปีที่แล้ว

Absolutely agree when there is room for a thread file. This is just and application choice of tool and has saved our buts a few times paying for itsself over and over!
      Hope this helped.
