I believe it was actually the Rylo, the last video I ever shot with it because I was not a fan. GoPro 9 is unbeatable in my opinion. The only thing close would be the GoPro 8 which is also an awesome camera! Love not having to run a Gimbal any more.
Demo the bikes you're interested in if you can. I'd say maybe try and hit one of the festivals where you can demo multiple bikes for one price, rather than a daily rate which can add up. So many to choose from and at every price point.
Nice trail! Much more variety than here in Phoenix!!! How was the climb to get up there??? Donna, I totally expected you to ride that water and jump up those rocks the way your riding has progressed! Here's a trick I learned... have some speed approaching the water and then lift your legs up and out and "coast" through it... no wet feet! Gotta learn how to blow snot rockets while you're riding! For the exposure... always look ahead... "heads up!" I can totally relate to fall allergies! But I've been good in AZ for the most part. Oh, after riding through grassy areas ALWAYS do a tick check!!! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tips Outback and trust me, I can be pretty hard on myself. My expectations for myself are always up there so I was laughing but also sort of irritated with myself for not just sucking it up and going for it on those water crossings. Next time! So far I haven't dealt with many allergies while riding at home (Arizona) but damn if they didn't blow up in Idaho on those rides. You make a great point about the ticks too, I didn't even think about that while I was there!!! EEEK.
Hey RJ, I'm not very familiar with Idaho Trails ( I relied on my best friend to show me around). I can ask her and get back to you. Another option is an App called Trailforks. If you're not familiar with it, the basic function is showing all the trails in any given region (which you can download, free) and also displaying where you are in "real time" on the trails. Trailforks is hands down one of the most useful tools I carry with me on rides, keeps me from getting lost and allows me to explore new places...mostly worry free!
Hey RJ, I spoke with my friend and she confirmed what you'd said, not much in that area. You'd have to drive somewhere for trails. I don't know how far the different trails are from you, hopefully not too far.
U r positioned perfectly in between sun valley and boise. That’s the positive outlook anyhow! Not far from either. Not to mention city of rocks To be about an hour from three nice areas!!!
Mountain Lions and Rattle Snakes everywhere. Not to far from the Wolves either. Most of the Boise trails can be ridden with a hardtail. I just bought a 27.5+ hardtail
Trail Blazer ATV I agree about the HT, the trails I’ve been in there have been pretty mellow in comparison to the stuff I normally ride. Still a blast, love the flow. 🤘🏼
There are black bear and lion and recently wolf sitings in that area. Many of those bushes are winter feeding for deer and bear. I'm local and ride/hike that trail often. You're sharing trail usage with wildlife in Idaho. Comes with the territory.
Kha Nguyen I believe it’s located up by Bogus Basin but I could be off. You should download the Trailforks App for your phone. It has all the trails and you can download whatever regions you plan on riding in and they’ll work even if you don’t have service. The other cool part is you can see where you’re at on the actual trail in live time. Highly recommend it!! Dry Creek on Trailforks www.trailforks.com/trails/dry-creek-4032/ Hope this helps Kha!! 🙌🏼
Hi Donna, What a beautiful place! I've watched several of your videos so far. I love them. I was introduced to mountain biking 2 years ago by my husband and felt in love instantly. I'm Brazilian (live in Arizona my hubby is american). I've been thinking about starting a TH-cam Channel to show AZ to Brazilian mountain biking fans... If you ever come back to Arizona trails let me know, I'd love to meet you, perhaps ride together :) By the way, I've just registered for the McDowell Meltdown race, it will be my first race ever (I'm anxious!). Keep up with the amazing videos! ;) - Cami Kump
That's so awesome Cami, I love hearing that! I actually live in Arizona, Havasu to be exact. You should start one up (TH-cam), I will say it can be quite a bit of work editing videos but nothing too crazy. I like it to sort of see my progress but also more to have a visual diary/memory of trips/rides and to show others what trails are like so they know before they go. I should be at the McDowell Meltdown race. I'm not really an XC racer but I seem to enjoy the pain a little because I signed up again this year, LOL. You'll do great I'm sure! Just remember to breathe and not blow it all on the start like I did my first one. :) What class will you be running? If you see me out there, come up and say hi!
Donna Ellsworth I’ll be in the Beg 30-39. It’s going to be my first race so I’m expecting to like it, then I might register for the others. I’ll definitely look for you there to say hi! ;)
Donna Ellsworth I forgot to ask say... if you going to race all 6 races? And, I meant before if you come to Phoenix again to let me know but now we’ll hopefully see each other at McDowell Meltdown. ;)
First must maximize my skill, Definitely a lot to learn. Just means I get to get better. ;) Agreed, awesome trail! Can't wait to explore some more up in Idaho if I get the chance.
I love the trails and stuff in CA but damn I can't stand all the other crap. (Traffic, insane taxes/prices, etc) lol. Idaho is supposed to be a secret.
@@RCRGIRL Not anymore. California and everywhere else know about it now. Boiseans are now outnumbered in our own city. I see 3X more cars parked in the lot for that trailhead and eastside trailhead than I did 3 years ago. Breaking point reached. Here comes the traffic, taxes, crazy drivers, and high prices. Cost of living is going way up, houses are 100k more than 2-3 years ago....:/ Trails like this are amazing, but I feel like they'll be crowded and just not what they used to be in several more years. You picked a great ride BTW, if you get a chance on another visit, try the trails down on the other side of the BB road. :) fast, a little more technical and the last bit can chain over to another trail system with some really good bank turns!
Matthew Edwards I’ll be up there at least a couple times over the summer/fall. I’ll ask my friend is she knows which one you’re talking about. I hear you about the increase in population and everything that goes with it. Same thing happened to St. George, Utah. We played around a little at Eagle Bike Park but my allergies kicked in HUGE and we had to bolt. Lol
your fans miss these mtn bike adventures! hopefully you'll recover soon and return to us.
Those handlebars are a trip! What are they called so I can look them up and learn about them?
Flexxbars made by Fasst Company.

Film by GoPro?

That trial looks fun and the scenery seems awesome too. Love your bike I want one, hopefully by next spring :)

Nice trail not to sure about that rylo camera pixel city smh what bike is blue bottom riding?
Loved the trail, hate the Rylo LOL. Jeani is riding my bike, the Intense Recluse Elite Build.

Any trails near mountain home?

Donna Ellsworth ok I’ll check it out. And get back to me once you ask your friend. I live in mountain home and can’t find trails anywhere
Hey RJ, I spoke with my friend and she confirmed what you'd said, not much in that area. You'd have to drive somewhere for trails. I don't know how far the different trails are from you, hopefully not too far.
Donna Ellsworth yup. Seems like all good trails are in Boise!
U r positioned perfectly in between sun valley and boise. That’s the positive outlook anyhow! Not far from either. Not to mention city of rocks To be about an hour from three nice areas!!!
any bigfoot sightings here or mountain lion? If so, I'm not going.
Nope, didn't get to see any bears either. ;) Wonder how fast Bigfoot would be and even more if he'd be able to ride a bike hahaha

Where is this Dry Creek again? I live in Boise but never heard of it nor found its on google 😕

Great trail, but it looks like you aren’t maximizing the capability of the bike 😉
First must maximize my skill, Definitely a lot to learn. Just means I get to get better. ;) Agreed, awesome trail! Can't wait to explore some more up in Idaho if I get the chance.
I need to move out of California.
