    Thanks for sharing you GN250 top-engine rebuild sessions.
    I bought a GN250 but it has 2 broken valves (one of them is half burried in the top of the piston 🙄). So next to the service-manual, your video's might come in handy to rebuild my engine.
    I would like a few of these GN250's, each one in another style (scrambler, bobber, café-racer,..). We'll see how far my budget gets me 😁.
    I'm following the whole build of your Suzuki 👍
    Greetings from Belgium.

    Thank you for sharing. I learned a few things I didn't know before. My gn 250's cam is doing a nasty sound. It has new rocker arms. I have no idea what it is.

      Yeixon Perez thanks for your comment. Have you checked the valve clearance? Is the cam timing / alignment ok? Have you checked the cam chain tension? Also the cam chain might be stretched and is slapping against something there.

    hello my friend, where did you buy your spare parts??

    • @KepperisGarage
      @KepperisGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Manuel Garcia hello there! I buy my spare parts mostly from eBay. I check the part number from explosion image and use that with as a search keyword. If i cannot find something from eBay, i turn to my local Suzuki dealer (more expensive).

      Sorry, but I don't have any material about those parts of the engine since the gearbox was just fine and didn't need to be opened.

    Hey man! Thank you a lot for sharing this videos! Its very helpful!! Im from Brazil and Im restoring my Gn250 1997. Actually here this model its called Intruder 250, but both are exactly the same! Now Im reassembling the engine, however Im facing some weird issues. The cranckshaft seems like stucked, locked...The engine is very hard to spin. Have you ever faced something like this? Im looking at the manual service but everything seems ok. Could you please give me a little help? Thank you very much, my friend! Amazing job!

      Hello Paulo! And thanks for your feedback, its appreciated! Oh its called Intruder over there, nice! "A Dear child has many names" they say :) Hmm im still no expert with these things, im sorry, but i can try. Did you reassemble the lower engine too? I have no experience of that at all. If its only the upper engine, then i would guess it might be the timing chain. Check that the chain is moving freely, since there is possibility for it to get stuck a little bit with the chain guide and the cylinder. Check also that you have the small "washer" below the cam shaft in the place (see number 6 www.npm.fi/images/categories/GN250N_08.jpg) to make sure that the cam shaft is not rubbing against the bare casing. Check also that the rockers are moving without drag. I guess that it can also be the piston rings, but im not sure if its possible to put the cylinder at the top of the mislocated rings. Hope you can find the problem and get the bike together!

    gn250 comes in 2 power variants, one was 17HP and second one over 20. Do you know where is difference? Is there any way to unlock this 17hp version?

      Hello! Sorry, I heard about this first time now, interesting tho!

    Great video mate. Ive done everything the same and as per the manual however the lobes facing down at TDC doesn't quite work out for me. Did you end up setting the lobes down or up at TDC because it seems to me like they should be facing up so that the intake valves open for the first 180 degrees of the compression stroke? Any ideas would be hugely appreciated!!! Cheers

    • @KepperisGarage
      @KepperisGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Dakota! To be honest, i actually did not pay that much attention for the lobes since i was trying to align all things with the sprocket markings and locking pin. I know now that it runs with the install on this video, but im still having weird noise coming from the top-end. Im guessing its the valves or the worn chain tensioner not doing its job. I guess that if the lobes are not correctly aligned, the engine wont start. Have you checked the markings in the cam sprocket?

      @@KepperisGarage Thanks for the response. Ive been thinking about it and have realised they need to be facing up so that the first 180 degrees of the crank after TDC, the inlet is open because at the moment for me the inlet is opening when the piston is coming up.

    I have no timing marks on. Is this possible?

    • @KepperisGarage
      @KepperisGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there! In which part you dont have the marks, camshaft gear or flywheel?

    • @throne1001
      @throne1001 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KepperisGarage The camshaft gear has no marks. I can only align it aproximately with the pin. Im having problems with firing up the engine. I got spark, fuel, compression, new carb, cdi, ignition unit. I had to check the timing, for which I have no references (marks) :D

    • @KepperisGarage
      @KepperisGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @throne1001 Actually, check the camshaft for the marks, there should be small lines on the inner ring. Took an image of my old camshaft where those are visible: bit.ly/3lfsdC5 and see the service manual too (page 72): www.carlsalter.com/mcpdf/Classic-Suzuki%20GN%20250%201982-1983%20Service%20Manual.pdf But if there still no marks on your camshaft, i unfortunatley dont have the experience needed to give any perfect advice. I would go by eye and ear try to find it.

      @@KepperisGarage Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for sharing the pictures. It was on the camshaft as on your picture. I just could see it when the engine was installed. Now I removed the engine from the atv for a rebuild and when I saw it I had to facepalm myself:D Thanks again.
