Good morning team LNN:) We travelled all the way to Taita to bring you this incredible series dubbed," Women and Culture" hosted by our lovely Gala Please share your honest feedback with us via info@Lnn.digital and we will really appreciate Thank you so much for watching. Congratulations Gala for another beautiful episode:)
Believe you me when I say lynn is epitome. Gala came in the other day and we can already see the growth. We started with ordinary stories then tales of wanjiku. Inspire global was also born, mens desk came in, then gala and now women and culture. This is waht we call growth. Keep up Lynn and your whole team. Good job
Wow! As a Taita! Am so happy to see you covered our culture and the Mwazindikaa dance. My Late Grandma Christina was a chairlady/singer/dancer and they were at Airports and political functions dancing for dignitaries and surely dignitaries and politicians came to lay to rest Last year October 2021. She never knew one of her daughter would be a political leader. I read her Eulogy in honour of her greatness. I miss her alot we used to dance and pound maize in a biig pounder or crucible alongside my aunties and cousins She was the Mother of Mothers, headquarters of joy and subtle jokes. My Angolo (Sweetheart). This will be my sweet memory of her. And I lost my agemate Cousin Lela Mghoi to kidney failure last year 19th Nov 2021 10 days after my birthday. Painful but this marks a beautiful memoir. LNN is the best of the best. Kimanga and Puree are my favourite and mchunga is a medicinal vegetable that i enjoy. City gal with alot of village knowledge and experiences.
We call it "Kimanga" too in kamba it's long I ate it! Beautiful women 🥰🥰and Gala has resembled them 🥰🥰🥰Thanks Lynn and your team for this educative episode 💜💜💜❤️❤️❤️❤️ But when it comes to beatings am out like yesterday! This beatings have sent many women to early graves and left innocent children motherless 😢😢
I remember the day clad in my gomesi I danced along these women last year in December. Well, I love the calmness among the Taita people. In Uganda, the muwogo and beans is in one of the katogo category of delicacies especially among the Bantu speaking people 😊
When women were second class citizens in an extremely patriarchal culture...wow! Listening to the expectations they had/have got of women...don't know whether to laugh or cry because it's both super sad and a tad hilarious sometimes. I feel sorry somewhat for our mothers and grandmothers generations that experienced these inequalities, abuse and slavery willingly because it was the norm. What a life. It's no wonder they had tough stances due to the suffering and psychological conditioning they recieved in their upbringing. Thank you for the history lesson, it helps millenials and the latter generations appreciate the opportunities and rights available for women today.
Culture is a way the do the things, their music, properties ( children) and their materials they are holding as a group of people. I didn't find it HOLY CULTURES If it a a pieces of Cultures mixed up with Colonialisms evils and some how turn up to enslaved slavery their women into the situation!! And maintain colonialisms enemies!! I am sure the interview made us away Their marriage Cultural was possession with satanic violence. I believe one day we are back to normality HOLY CULTURES. When we become fully healed and be who we are as whole Afrikans
What do u mean by women being second class??.. Nobody was born wearing shoes infact this mentality we have in this generation is what making marriages in this generation useless
@@clarahaggie9293 I'm speaking literally, analytically and hypothetically. I'm sure you watched & I hope you analysed the video and conversations for what they are. These women of yore were made to think/believe all they had to do to succeed at the second phase of their lives was to be "good women/wives" to probably petulant men! These are our/your grandmothers/mother's and aunties. A bunch of 'broken ' women raising families, sometimes as 'children' themselves, & with no outlet. Imagine raising your daughter to cater to a man's whims, sprinkled with a dose of violence, and generous servings of selfishness. The men clearly got away with it too. So when I say "second class citizens" I'm not demeaning this tribe/cultures beliefs. I'm loudly condeming our African society's idiosyncratic dogmas towards women. Women who should be spending valuable time, valuing themselves! What a travesty! . When a woman's needs come second, sis, that's 'second class citizenry'. Hope you received some 'edumacation' & that my point somewhat makes some semblance of sense to you🙏🏽 . Culture in the continent is great if it's not harmful....Same way they tell you,... never take financial advice from a poor man! Love, peace and respect ☝🏽
Angula Aangula it's u not us.. Even before these new religions we had our own cultures and don't pretend to be holy.. That's where we came from and am not ashamed of it.. Come tell us which tribe u came from..... In our language "those who abandon their culture are slaves" ... So am a proud Taita and there is nothing u or anybody else can do.
Am pretty sure you are either single, divorced or in a relationship that is not working. British brought us education and values. We had values that worked before they arrived. Today, they dictate how we classify generations such as Gen x, etc. I do not support any violence or abuse.
Lyne thank you so much for bringing this episode. I'm a luo/taita and you can imagine all these mathes I know them because I schooled with some of their children in primary I feel like I was there today Barikiwa sanaaa
I love this… this Taita food is the best ! I’m lucky to have a taita man in my life and experience their calmness, kindness and first of all their Love. He is my first love and will be forever remain my first love. Our daughter is the best, she took all the positiveres from her Taita side. I love them. I wish I could have this daily!!!! Vienna life isn’t mine at all!!!!!! 😢
It's sad at times that we go through domestic violence, but still stick in those marriages. Anyways, Thanks Lynn and Gala for covering the beautiful aspects of Taitas
I am a kikuyu who was raised in Mombasa due to my light skin people always confused me with Taita’s but most of my fiends are taita very kind and humble. I truly like there culture . Lynn bring all cultures in Kenya so we learn something from them. Thank you
First to comment Beautiful women but that part about marriage ukipigwa unaamuambia pole should just be discouraged for them but this generation and also Mothers stop telling your daughters we destroyed your bed to mean you can't come back... people are suffering home should be home
