      I would like to see a fix where when I turn off my steam deck and when I turn it back on that I would not have to go and re parse and save again as almost every time I turn of then on few days later or even few hours later when I'm in game mode and go to the console tabs the are empty and have to go to desk top mode click parse and save to steam it's been doing it for over a year! If u know of a fix I'd love to know

    That controller has a big design flaw, it cant be vertically straight like that. The deck itself has the screen space in the middle. Without that a controller needs to be angled, like most controlers are.

    Steam Deck controller
    The custom Steam Deck controller looks neat, and is exactly what I'm asking for. Its basically the opposite of what Sony did with their PS5 tablet. Absolutely gorgeus and I would pay a full price for (whatever that means, but hopefully under 100 Euros).
    I hope Valve license this, supports and sells it on their platform. So I can buy it with my Steam money, rather than Amazon or a random shop. Steam money cards is so good.

    Civilization
    I play this series since version one (starting on SNES in the 90s for me, really good version optimized for gamepad). I skipped 3 and 4, but since 5 I'm in again. Man, those memories! And thanks to Linux, no more playing on Windows. I thought that I was going to miss out on this newest version, but thankfully it will be compatible day 1! Exciting on multiple levels!
    Edit: Thankfully it does not require an EA account to play offline! But it will have Denuvo... man, usually I skip games with Denuvo. Maybe I wait until sale and if the DRM is removed... sad.

    My dream option for the next Steam Deck and any Steam controller would be glass topped trackpads. If we could get super precise trackpads like a Macbook or high end windows laptop, I'd be soooo happy.

    • @Ferkiwi
      @Ferkiwi วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm not sure if that'd be a good idea. I'd rather have it made of a durable plastic, or some metal alloy. Making it glass would just make it more brittle and/or expensive without much gain.

    • @WhatAboutZoidberg
      @WhatAboutZoidberg วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Ferkiwi I've repaired laptops for over a decade and almost never have seen a glass trackpad break. They're tempered glass, they're very strong and the control gains are immense.

      @Ferkiwi วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@WhatAboutZoidberg Laptops have lids, a controller gets much more punishment. I work at Samsung and I've seen plenty of broken tempered glass on touchscreens. Can you explain in which manner the glass helps with "control gains"?
      If you just prefer the texture, it would make more sense to separately sell glass stickers (like screen protectors). Many places already sell vinyl covers for the steam deck trackpads that add different texture (and it seems some people actually feel better control when the vinyl has more friction/grip, instead of being smooth like glass).

    One tip I would be to the creator.. the Steam Deck is a lot wider than a traditional controller. This makes the angle of the grips comfortable. But with a controller where your arms and hands are much closer together, the grips need to angle out more.

  • @keddytweek

    I kind of want this, but that's a big kind of. If I'm at my desk and I'm playing a game I would want to use a controller with, I would just use an xbox controller. If it's something like Civilization that mouse functionality works better in, I would just use mouse and keyboard. I would really only use it if I was playing something like Civ on the couch in the living room, which I would never do.

    I agree with the ergonomic concerns others have posted. Think about using the Joy Cons in the girp that comes with the Switch. I think thats about the size comparison and that thing is not very comfortable even with the slightly asymmetrical palm rests. There's a ton of third party angled grips that try to make those feel better in the hand. I think that controller concept needs some kind of angle.

    I've been seeing the renders of "steam controller 2" that are just the steam deck without the screen and it's actually a horrendous idea. The thing I hate most about the steam deck is the tiny square touch pads. they're too small, the shape makes them a night mare to use as a d-pad or emulating an anologue stick, and they're too easy to click in leading to a lot of accidental accuations.
    I understand why they are the way they are for the steam deck, but on a dedicated controller where you don't have to worry about how much bigger and bulkier you're making what is supposed to be a portable console they should be swapped for larger round pads with the click in issue fixed, though they don''t need to be as big as the og steam controller

    Needs greater ergonomics. The closer the hands are, the more angled the wrists need to be so not to stream the shoulders position. This is why console controllers taper outward in an angle to the palms in a degree for the tilt of the wrist.

The current Steam Deck modules plug into the main motherboard, where the USB Controller is to get the signals from the parts.

    Handhelds, in general, are not really giving the best experience for online PvP games. I suspect that a huge chunk of the GTAV Steam Deck players are playing the solo campaign, anyway. So yeah, it might fall in the most played list, but solo rpg games from the same period, like Witcher 3, are still in the top 20.
