This series of concerts is fabulous!!! She's in great shape and explores different areas of her vast repertoire.
That evening was moving, I was there and I still reremember the atmosfaire and intencity. The voice more fragile, bud as the concert went on, she seemed to feel more sicure. - Callas will alvays be Callas, and no singer after her will be remembered as she is.

No Abigaille, Anna Bolena, Iphigénie, Medea. Michael Scott says, it was simply because of Walter Legges ignorance of italian opera.

I think one of the reasons her voice is in such good shape in 63 for the Casta Diva is because you can tell she's singing very carefully, and not quite as full as she did in earlier concerts. She probably needed to save her voice. You can particularly hear it towards the end of Casta Diva, on that final cadenza up to the B-flat, when her voice cracks.

Neanche io mi aspettavo una voce così in forma nel 63...calcolando la permanenza della Divina sul panfilo di Onassis dal 59..sembra che qui fosse in una fase di...esaltazione ! Interpreta con tutta la sua Arte ed il suo Pathos..specialmente nel finale di Butterfly ! La voce mostra solo qualche piccola defaillance negli acuti . ..ma calcolando che non si esercitava più...da anni è Magnifica

Grazie. Scoprire l'esistenza di un documento nuovo è sempre un regalo. Ma ascoltare la forma "eccezionale" della sua voce in questo 9 giugno '63 è stato strabiliante. Negli altri documenti sonori esistenti, sia del 1963 che del 1962, sotto la bacchetta di Pretre, la forma vocale è di gran lunga inferiore. Qui il registro avuto non è traballante e stridulo. È lucente, fermo. Una grande, grande testimonianza. Grazie

Depuis la mise en ligne de ce vidéogramme, la firme 'High Definition Tape Transfers' a publié la bande originale de ce concert (2022). Cet enregistrement est plus complet (certaines parties orchestrales et le 'O mio babbino caro'), le son est supérieur et il a été restauré avec respect.
Par ailleurs, il est évident que Callas était, ce soir-là, en belle forme vocale pour l'époque...

Come negli anni 50 ,sempre grandiosa e sempre riscalda i nostri cuori e rafforza il nostro amore per Lei. Ma qualcuno può aiutarmi a capire perché nn abbiamo mai video delle sue esibizioni sia degli anni d'oro sia degli anni 60, salvo pochissime eccezioni.
My parents saw her once at Frederiksberg Copenhagen back in the sixties and were - sadly to say - disappointed after having spent almost a whole day to get tickets. She sang about three arias and the rest was endless music numbers. The whole programme seemed strangely cut. But at least they got a glimpse of the famous diva.

That's how it always was getting tickets to see Callas. There's even demonstrations where ppl hold up signs that say "callas tickets any price". Perhaps they should've been warned.

Não sou entendida em opera, não sou maestro ,não sei a diferença de Do maior do Do menor, mas sou expert em ouvir o belo, amo ouvir Maria Callas odeio o que Onassis fez com a mulher que ele sabia ser carente com traumas de infância que ele trouxe a tona para manipular, ele a todo custo queria uma fama que não lhe pertencia então humilhou e a torturou na frente de qualquer um e não contente deu a facada final , casou com a Jaqueline Kennedy estando ainda com Callas, quis um sobrenome e este o tratou como ele não esperava , morreu mais sozinho do que Callas ela se eternizou, ele se apagou nada restou a não ser seu pecimo carater.

Comme vous le savez, Callas était devenue vocalement très irrégulière dans les années 1960... Cela s'entend dans cette tournée de mai-juin 1963, d'un récital à l'autre. Disons qu'elle était particulièrement "en voix" à Copenhague !
