I take this train 30 times a year. First class sleeping car is more than okay. Yes, 2nd class cars, full of subsidized travelers like the chap filming, can be pretty bad.
It was our fault not booking far enough in advance for the sleepers so was in the 2nd class car which wasn't great. Would love to go back and try the sleepers, can you recommend then?
@@glasgowreports9710 1st class 2-bed or single sleeper is what I recommend because that's what I always use. I'll be in one of those just in a week. The title is "vagon de dormit" -> that's what CFR calls 1st class sleeper. "Dormit 2 paturi" is 285RON. Very comfy. Depending on the period, you can even find within a day. I just checked right now (Feb 2, 12AM Romania time) and there are 11 spots available for tomorrow at 8PM.
